  1. Yeah, my main point was more the fact that people tend to be critisized when they post up information rather than the fact as to wether people do it or not. I said before that you wouldnt post info if you knew it was going to get you in trouble or if your identity is known, so there was no pressure there. As for the insider trading stuff, rubbish, it has been announced at a function (Im taking a guess but there might have been alcohol there which might not have made the group good at keeping secrets), and now again in the staff area plus as Liveandletlive said staff are activley telling guests, so its not a super secret (Eg limited to the Board), plus it might have already been announced to shareholders fairly quietly in a report (Im checking that now). I daresay the ASX might have jumped on it already if it were a true problem.
  2. Ok, ok fair enough, i just wanted to get it off my chest. Hopefully WVTP might read this and might see my point, but when that happens pigs will fly. Theres always MSN and private messages I suppose
  3. I know, but the point i was trying to make is the flawed logic in keeping ride details super secret, basically IMO the ride type is the most important thing to keep secret because that is the main aspect of the attraction, but once that is known i see no reason to keep anything else under wraps. So can anyone give a description or gat a pic of this drawing in the staff area?

LOL its in the manual how to do it,
  5. Well its already called Interchange Park, which IMO is a better name, it sounds more industrial and buisness like. Though to tell you the truth, i think people will forget, like there are some parts of my town that have been knocked down, rebuilt etc and i can barley even remember some of these places now. The city is such a dynamic place that things never stand still and people adapt to the changes. Though one thing Do we really need to use that phrase in reference to something as trivial as a theme park?

Just a couple of suggestions, change the path type to one with metal supports, and maybe put tropical plants on the carpark side of the ride.
  7. How can they be it yet be at the same time?
  8. Yeah well it will probably be down the track. If i were you i would be very happy we were getting such a big slide, Tornados are the hottest thing going water park wise and really are a great ride. I mean, the airtime on the turns on mammoth is great, as is going down the drops on the Plunge. Now combine the two and multiply by 10 and you would get an idea of how fun this will be. Yes, a toilet bowl would be OK, but when you think about it, all you do is go around in circles, like a helix, now if you really wanted to do that you could go on that whitewater flume (cant remember its name, its the one next to Bombora) since that has a lengthy helix, and thats what it would be like. Not dissing a toiled bowl in any way, its just that a tornado is much better.
  9. Well im not complaining about any extra info. I think its a joke how on the American/European coaster sites there is always plenty of inside info going around freely with regard to new rides, keeping in mind these parks have similar policies, yet here it seems to be critisized heavily, to the point where threads have been locked because it was supposedly too early to be told (Case point Shrek 4D). And then people wont give info about the ride by saying you should wait for the press release, but that is stupid because all they ever say is the basics with a lot of buzzwords about the ride (Eg with superman; "Australias first catapulting coaster") that we already knew. Its not as if they have press releases containg the info normally spoken about on the forums that we are interested in (Eg vehicle types, ride statistics, specific elements, layouts, detailed themes etc etc) so i dont see the point of keeping these things secret. Though with Rabid it is fair enough because people know who he is so there is an issue there. But as far as im concerned the ride is out in the open now so there is no point keeping anything secret now. What is the fear? that DW could find out? The ride type is already known so that is the main thing if DW wanted to build a competing ride, the theme is also not worth keeping secret because DW cant use WB trademarks, The stats arent worth keeping secret because it will be smaller than any of DWs rides (since launched freefall rides have a limit of about 70m from memory so they wont be worried with that, and location and other smaller details wouldnt be a threat because i think DW has enough on its plate with the waterpark without worrying about the finer points of how MW does things. So yeah, if you have info post it, or at least tell someone who can post it for you.
  10. No can do, its heratiage listed remember. he may be a buisnessman, but i wouldnt be that pessemistic about him.
  11. Ill say melbourne because the focus is still on being a fun park, and not function centre like LPS has become, and also becuase of the historic rides. So has there actually been any news yet on the re_vamp of LPM by Lindsay Fox?
  12. I doubt it will be batwing escape since it sounds too similar to superman escape.

Good effort, very realistic, just make the train black with a green side stripe for more realism.
  14. Yeah, if your polite they will let you take stuff into the queue, but you just have to assure them you wont take it on the ride.

The supports on Cyclone are definitley not teal, they arent green enough to be teal, light blue is the way to go. Also, going by this photo http://www.roller-coaster.com.au/gallery/cyclone-dw/006.jpg you can clearly see the track goes though the sidewinder.
  16. Yeah, heres one of the unload station taken from the shop. Sorry about the blurring though, i had taken it on WWF so there must have been a little bit of moisture on the lens. But its ok now though. The loading station looks pretty much the same.
  17. Not necessarily, i know for a fact it cost $15,000 to deck out the entire maccas i work at with new uniforms, and thats 80 people, i think DDWP will have about double that so it would be expensive, but not too much overall out of the budget.
  18. When i was up there i saw that room and knew it would have been a preshow. My question is what was it about?
  19. But usually if there are 2 single riders they take the one closest to the front. Anyway here are some of mine. -Take opportunites, if a ride has a very short line or none at all, ride it then rather than thinking "ill come back to it", and do your repeat rides there and then. I did this at MW and got 2 rides on both WWF and SDSC at the begining of the day, i tried the same thing at DW with GD and TOT and got two consecutive rides with no line. -Visit WnW at night, all the slides have short lines and its a great atmosphere, you do miss out on the wave pool, calypso and bucaneer bay (though thats not a problem if your not with kids) but the other slides are walk on. -Go when its raining, being a Victorian myself a downpour at MW didnt deter me (hey we sit for 3 hours in the rain to watch the footy) but it did so to many others so it reduces crowds. -Ride when major shows are on
  20. Yes there was, it opened in 1992 i think. Yeah, it was like a ride where you went into a movie theatre and started to watch a blooper reel, but the gremlins come in so you board the vehicles and there are gremlins everwhere and you eventually reach saftey. The Gremlins ride. Though one question i have about Movie Park Germany: what is this effect on the ride where a car flips across the track? How does it work?
  21. Yeah, but whats your point?
  22. Errr, but WnW refund it. Plus doing that would send PR down the gurgler, people would get pretty angry at a park taking their money.
  23. Australias economy could be said to be "big", but there is always room for growth, so the same could be said for the Gold Coast economy, why else would they always be building new apartments, resorts, attractions, rides at parks etc? yeah, i agree, the park is a bit unbalanced with most of the rides around ocean parade. It always makes me wonder why people think a massive captial investment on a record breaker will yield an equally as big return. I mean six flags has tried that at many of its parks and they are billions in the red. Plus IMO record breakers are a poor investment, they arent any better than a non record breaker (compare the superior SE with the once record breaking TOT), are expensive, break down a lot and are only a record breaker for a few years (CP lost it fairly quickly to Kingda Ka). I think its better to build a smaller coaster with punch and a memorable ride experience than one that is the biggest or fastest or most inneficient or whatever. Plus pitching something at the international market is always risky and far too volatile in the times of today. A spraypark (like looney tunes splash zone) is completley different from a waterpark, and for what its worth, SW and DW have sprayparks too anyway, they are more of a standard kids "ride" as part of a childrens area (much like an plane ride or dodgems, just an expected thing) rather than a waterpark.
  24. yeah, a few parks have "family blasters" (Wild Wadi, Schlitterbahn to name a couple) They are a cool idea, but i think they would lack the airtime of a normal master blaster as well as requiring massive amounts of power to get the thing uphill. Though a cool idea i have seen done with them is just to have one uphill the entire way to an elevated pool, but the other one downhill all the way. No need for stairs or boat lift. But just a couple of things i have thought of i would like to see: -A mammoth slide, but instead of big 180* turns like at WnW, i think it would be better if it had a drop about 1/3 of the tower height to give it some decent speed, but then after that have just mostly 45* turns. This would be better because i think on rafting slides, its not the length of the turns that matters, but the number: the more turns the more wall time you get, and if they are back to back turns you would get a pretty wild ride. Mammoth was great, but the first couple of turns were a bit boring while you gained speed, you could get rid of that by just starting with a drop. -The second idea i think would be good would be an all in one wrist band. At WnW you got your ticket, but then after that you had to stuff around lining up again for splash cash and locker wrist bands. It would be better if at the front gate you just got one wristband (all guests would have one) that would be your entry ticket, cash and locker all into one. You would just say something like "can i please have one adult entry with small locker and $10 splash cash. They would total it, give you your band and that would be it in one simple transaction. Even if you didnt get a locker or credit you would still get a wristband so you could have the option later on. Your wristband could also be part of a possible virtual queing system (rides like terror canyon can get 45 minute queues) but of course it depends on how well the park is run. At the end of the day the entry turnstiles would be run in reverse, you would be able to get any unused credit back, and if you had a return ticket you would get a return slip for the next day which you would trade in for another wristband upon returning. A rule would be in place where if your wristband had been removed you would not be able to use it, this would ensure people couldnt steal them.

Yeah, ill rate that effort. I think it could look nice if it had a few more well themed flats to break it up. Good Work.
