  1. But the point of backwards is "not being able to see what is coming". Seeing the track snake behind you gracefully is nice, but I don't think it is what makes it scary thing people want to try.
  2. Hang on I thought the point of going backwards was not seeing where you are going, in which case being in another row doesn't matter. Do people only like the backwards drops on Scooby and WWF if they get the front row? Or on Buzzsaw, or Boomerangs? Yes, I have actually. The coaster portion is actually very similar in terms of elements and feel to Green Lantern at MW, but it is the theming which made it cool, including a vertical lift towards a roof of flames...Reignited memories of Bermuda. The coaster itself was a 6/10, but the overall package probably made it a 7.5/10
  3. Batwing and SkyCoaster don't.
  4. When people speculate about theming, I think the gist of it is "was it batman or wonderwoman". Lighting is just a generic element...it doesn't tell the story.
  5. Yeah, if youre wishing for new coasters, why not the ultimate goal of getting one of each type in this country? Its not like parks overseas solely compete with each other by just building hypers and more hypers.
  6. Dunno, do a baby swap with mum? Then on the next visit mum does the opening dash? How are you getting on the thrill rides at the moment?
  7. Just turn up at rope drop one morning and get in the backwards queue straight away?
  8. 3 Days at SFDK? Were they full days?
  9. What's your labour component?
  10. I guess too the Mack gates would come in default modules and the back gate just won't get used. I suppose there's also flexibility to have the last car converted to a normal one for whatever reason.
  11. Ive ridden both manufacturers hypers, often within a day of each other. The B&M ones kind of cruise over the top of the hills without much lifting. It's there but feels muted. Obviously with the Intamin ones its much stronger and more exciting. You would know the sensation already if you have been on Superman at MW. I think Mack and Intamin do the twisty stuff better. I love B&Ms, but their hypers are not their best product line, though they are getting better, see Fury 325.
  12. Wouldn't a B&M hyper just be a less exciting version of what MW is getting?
  13. I vote for the Pulsar clone Joz 🤣 DW could become more like Walibi Belgium....A collection of shuttle coasters and rough coasters. (That said, Pulsar is kinda cool)
  14. I dunno why there is negativity around the statement that bringing back old attractions is not necessarily a good move. There's a bit of truth it. You can't simultaneously bag members like Pushbutton for wanting classic attractions, then advocate for it here. Id agree that Eureka wouldn't be as good as you remembered. Heck even when it was open I thought it Scoobys poor cousin.
  15. Because its safer for a park to be early than be late. October would be the first full month it's open anyway, since school holidays start 15th September. Last thing you want is for someone to see "September" on the teaser, turn up on the 1/9/17 and be disappointed it wasn't operating.
  16. Mystery mine was OK. You can see the difference between it and the newer ones. Sort of felt like they were trying to still be a bit wild mouse ish with some of the stuff they duid on that one, with the newer eurofighters being more like a regular looping coaster. Gold Rush at Slagharen looks interesting, but at the same time, and would be good for the park, but it's still no Hyper, so whatever they do has to kind of capture the imagination of the public. I think AlexBs suggestion of an RMC is best, and one of the few things that would come close to a hyper.
  17. All Eurofighters come with a nice indoor section from the factory in Germany?
  18. For starters, I'm not sure why everyone is getting hung up on an MCBR. None of the Intamin Hypers use them, and Millennium Force is the only one that runs three due to having a separate unload. Secondly, if the ride time is 3 mins, then the dispatch interval cannot be 3 mins because you'd end up with a situation where every 2nd train would be stacking behind the one in the station (In other words no point running a 2nd train) The correct maths is to acertain the loading time, add that to the cycle time, and then that is the number of laps each train can do in an hour. Then double that because you have two trains running, and one train can be let off the lift as soon as the other has cleared the first brake run. So say they could check a train in one minute, that means a cycle time closer to 4 mins = 15 cycles per train. So 30 trains per hour = 660. But then again, that 3 min figure could be inclusive of the load/unload time. Flash is 2 mins from station to brakes (Video was taken in testing with a slow lift) but the Alvey POV seems to show the lift going faster but unfortunatley cuts most of the lift out. so 3 mins total cycle including loading could be a realistic upper limit? In which case 40 trains per hour can be sent, which is 880 per hour.
  19. Hollywood Dream is only 44m high though so although its a hyper style ride, its really just in the same category as regular backwards coasters.
  20. Plus 2nd row from back is still close enough to have essentially identical forces if you want a traditional airtime experience.
  21. Now things are official the speculation thread has run its course.
  22. Yeah, its polarising for sure. Most intense coaster out there, and the forces on the drops, where you simultaneously feel like you are falling and lurching foward is awesome. There is single rider so give it a go for yourself.
