  1. Yes, most members on here know more about the worldwide happenings of theme parks than you do, so have known about Twisted Collossus for around a year.
  2. I think it had reached the end of its operating life, and was quite rough. It reportedly was so loud it distracted lifeguards in the water park next door.
  3. Nah, fast lifts are good....airtime off the top
  4. The 6.2 model is 16.5m wide so may fit.
  5. Yeah the whole winjas car thing for Wild Mouse is retarded. Spinning cars have a wider clearance envelope and are heavier, which is unfeasible on such a small old coaster where you can just about reach supports during the ride anyway. Making the Coney Island slides water slides is retarded too. Isn't it all made out of timber and metal rather than fiberglass, thereby causing corrosion and rotting/swelling of the old wood. Those slides are inside coney island. You havent even been.
  6. Its hard to tell on an overcast photo with low exposure.
  7. Tip: If a ride goes at 115km/h and has face first vertical drops then chances are it's not a family ride.
  8. Not sure why we are quoting the price in USD for abyss? Adventure World always promoted the ride as a $12 Million dollar attraction, and I think its safe to say that they were talking AUD at the time. Why would a local park that serves the Perth market be quoting a foreign currency? I can tell you right now that when I was at Cedar Point families certainly weren't the ones riding Wicked Twister.
  9. ^Even the medium sized ones (60m), like SkyScreamer are pretty decent rides, and noticeably popular where they've been installed. http://cdn2.parkz.com.au/cache/photo/individual_photo/general/2015/07/40af5c03e283cbeaf66292524adba9a7.jpg
  10. And Lego are these things https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego Anyway, sounds good! An indoor attraction should work well in Melbourne, and its a strong brand. The dark ride looks pretty cool. Never bothered looking till now, but it is JL style, with both screens and sets.
  11. This. Seating at water parks is in short supply, and hogging it while you're not there is selfish. If I put my towel or esky on a change room toilet does that mean I get to have it for myself all day? Anyone looked for trademarks?
  12. Because car racing is a common theme for many theme park rides. It's like saying "there's plenty of places movie fans can watch movies, so we don't need movie themed parks".
  13. I can't see it being much different to many service sector jobs. Welcome to McDonald's, may I take your order?
  14. Mate the lift hill is on the plans.
  15. 1) Sell passes 2) ??????? 3) Profit
  16. Lol at everyone saying a coaster running backwards is unfeasible. What about.... -Batman Backwards at Six Flags. -Hollywood Dreams backwards train at Universal Japan -When Indiana Jones at Disneyland Paris ran backwards for a while. -Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast. -The way Paramount ran one side of their wooden racing coasrers backwards prior to Cedar Fair buying them out. -Swarm: Brave it Backwards at Thorpe Park Etc. Its not exactly a mnew untested concept. What if it kums too early? Say September? Or just, change that one little part to suit rather than the whole friggen train.
  17. Its a theoretical maximum of 600 pph. In practice, rafts will go out with less than 4 on ocassion, and sometimes even only 2 depending on how the op is at merging groups. Sometimes they go out with less than 4 if everyone in a party is heavy and they need to split them to keep it under 320kg. In reality, very few rides achieve their maximum, apart from a few star attractions at Universal and Disney where vehicles basically never go out with empty seats and operations are well honed. I've only ever seen two slides with single rider lines....Wildebeest and Mammoth at holiday world, but those slides are run more like a typical theme park attraction with a loading station and groupers than a water slide.
  18. Isn't Movie Vörld that park similar to.Movie World that was built in Germany (Now known as Movie Park)?
  19. Re area sound tracks for DW, I thought in Goldrush they played old time music like "click go the shears" ?
  20. ^Even in the opening weeks, they were never properly implemented. Some showed fire, and some were stuck on the default menu screen. On a side note, doesn't that proposed Tornado 24 ride in the WWW expansion plan look utterley too short compared to the other slides coming off the same tower?
  21. According to the measurement tools available in a popular mapping software, the plot of land is ~160x220m. By comparison, Jupiters is ~300x180, Treasury Casino is 90x70, Reef Casino is 100x170, and Townsville is 220x160.
  22. Kinda like how AW built a multi lane racing slide, water play area etc years after the GC parks :P
  23. To make something V8 Supercars themed wouldn't necessarily take a whole lot, depending on the level of detail:
  24. Semantics though. The park may consider Wiggles World as a whole as an "attraction". Just the same as you'd call it "Coroboree" rather than the individual "koala enclosure", "crocodile enclosure", "nocturnal house" etc etc.
  25. Could concur with that one Tornadoes are my favourite slides, this one is longer, and has theming. Where did I say anything negative? I just gave a description of what each ride does.
