  1. Want! The midi disko should be the family ride purely for the cuteness factor. Bmull, it's not a coaster, but I think yes some people might call it one because it's on tracks...it's sort of like how some people think of super tubes at WWW as a coaster because it goes up and down like one, but of course it's not. A disk o coaster ( large one like at Rainbows End) doesn't count as a coaster either because it's a power ride and doesn't freewheel under gravity .
  2. Easy! Make a rectangle Push pull upwards. Select the front top edge Use the move tool to move it downwards to make the sloping balustrade. Select the entire thing. Rotate a few degrees since as you can see the balustrades are not perpendicular to the building front. Make a copy of the entire thing. Select the copy you made, use the scale tool on it, using the 'handle' in the middle of the left face.....this one..the X in the diagram below; OOO OXO OOO When doing this, type the scale factor as -1 since this will create a mirror copy. Now, with the two pieces you now have, put them so they are aligned, say 2400 mm apart, this means the stairs will have balustrades either side. On the ground at the bottom, draw lines so it makes a face on the ground between the two halves, this is what we will make the actual stairs out of. Draw a line between the two balustrades that basically joins the two, use your snaps to make sure it is in the middle. So now that face in the middle is divided into two faces, but we need more than two steps, so divide each of these two faces in half the same way, parallel to the first division. We have 4 faces now, yay, so we can make steps....push pull the first by say 120mm, next by 240, next by 360, last one by 480 so you get stairs. Am away from home ATM, so don't have sketch up, but that's how I'd do it if I had access.
  3. The outsiders aren't a reputable source though...
  4. Ah yes, how could we forget the friggen Harbour Bridge and Opera House!
  5. Re Eurofighters, they are 'ok'.... Similar in fun value to something like Corkscrew....Basically they are fairly fun and they fill the gap, but they don't set the world alight or anything. So in other words it would fit right in with the rest of DW
  6. And just on that, I reckon some of wonderlands woes could be traced to it being a year round park, despite Sydney obviously not being able to support that. I'm sure a few of us have heard the stories of literally a dozen people or so turning up on certain days. WnW being seasonal should help in this respect.
  7. With those odd looking buildings you need to use photomatch mode to remove the distortion.
  8. ^When you draw the arc, just input a smaller value for the number of sides to keep the number of faces down.
  9. The bus parking area is roughly equivalent in size to the "main" bit of Motocoaster where all the figure 8s are. Reptar would also fit entirely in the bus parking. Gives you some idea anyway.
  10. 2D..Its a photo match texture. PS, if you draw an arc and vertical lines around those archways on the thing that holds the flying car up, you can push pull out slightly, offset, then push pull in, and give it some depth. To be honest, there is an easier workflow you could be using. 1) get that big photo, or any other photo that shows the building you want to model...Crop beforehand Have one photo per building, and basically 2) Import the photo. 3) Explode it! This is the key step. 4) Select this exploded photo and group it. 5) Begin editing the group, first go to Edit face and use the perspective edit tool to get rid of any distortion if the photo wasn't taken straight on. 6) Trace around the front face of the building with the line tool on the surface of the photo. 5) Delete off the excess around the outside. 6) Push pull...this is where the magic happens. Because you imported the photo and exploded it, the texture will go all the way through the model rather than just on the surface. 7) Keep drawing on the front face, push pulling windows in, mullions and window frames out etc etc. 8) Close the group. 9) Profit.
  11. Geez mate, be reasonable! Who the hell on parkz is going to have access to the architects elevations where they can take off the height and length dimensions....Yeah, that's right, nobody. Since you are so keen to make this model, how about figuring out this for yourself for a change? You can just go to nearmap, get some aerial images of the set, and then take off approximate dimensions for the width of each building. Then go back to the photo of the set, and then get the height and width of each facade. Obviously due to the fisheye nature of the photo you might have to do some good old fashioned guestimation for the buildings on the edge of the photo. Compare the width of each building on the photo, with the actual dimension off Nearmap. That gives you the scale factor. Then just multiply the height from the photo by the scale factor, and that gives you a good estimation of how tall the facade is in real life.
  12. I'm somewhat confused...I always thought Sally Corp were these guys and American rather than European, Alton was owned by Merlin, and Universal owned by Blackstone.
  13. Old and New..... Oblivion TV Ad Krake TV Ad
  14. Too bad WnW didn't rate highly
  15. Say things like Motocoaster and Spongebob Flypants?
  16. On the topic of T-Shirts, MW needs to sell a version of this T-Shirt: http://www.laughingplacestore.com/ShowPic.asp?ProductID=15157
  17. The station theming also gets a thumbs up from me http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=58607&start=40
  18. Under $30 per person...to not wait in queues, when you've spent at least $1500 each to get there in the first place.
  19. A 5 person flash pass is $145 according to the website...The price drops per person the more you add.
  20. I've always felt like challenging that notion. It might be the case at parks in the US etc, but Australian kids have money, and tend to spend it.
  21. You could perhaps tie in with a trip to KL, and ride the big Intamin looper at Cosmos World?
  22. Raptor at Gardaland is open, and it looks friggen sweet...Exactly the style of theming I love: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1019205#p1019205 POV can be seen here: Now I'm just waiting for a Wing Rider dive machine.
  23. But that would add say another $500 or so to the cost, for what would be one of the bottom parks on the trip, which has no unique attractions (Has anyone on here made the effort to visit from the east coast just for the park...no) Plus the only coaster it has now is a kiddy one anyway. What I'm surprised about is them going to Magic Mountain.
  24. Thats the thing though, I imagine the TPR trippers would've paid similar to what STDragon had proposed....TPR trips aren't cheap, but you get your moneys worth by all accounts, and much of the reason you pay the premium compared to traveling independently is because you can do back of house tours etc.
  25. Ah, so a water play structure. 8 Slides...sounds pretty good. I wonder what sort of scale they are going for? Will it be Pipeline Plunge sized, or will they go mega, with something similar to Cowabunga Bay in Utah or East Coast Waterworks at Hersheypark?
