WARNER BROS. MOVIE WORLD CELEBRATES DC COMICS 75TH ANNIVERSARY!
SPOILER ALERT Naturally, I was on park for this. In short, everyone should get down and see this, it's very well done, and a step up from the regular daytime parade. The new floats were quite elaborate and look great all lit up at night (My favourite was probably the 'destroyed street' one (One other is a big joker head with cards, and the other new one is like a justice league 'high tech' headquarters with tv screens and pulsating energy lines etc. The plot is that it starts off like a regular parade, with the daily planet covering the celebrations, but the bad guys roll in, and a battle between them and the justice league ensues, with lots of lasers, smoke etc. One thing that stood out to me is that the staff that accompany the floats are dressed to match the float instead of being in those regular blue shirts, eg the ones with the Joker float looked like clowns, the ones with the destroyed street one looked like 'hired goons' dressed in black. At the end there are actual dancers and performers with ribbons, all set to the Black Eyed Peas "Tonights gonna bee a good night". AS for the new characters, I know one is named Super Humanoid, one that looks like a leopard, one that looks like a jester, and one that dresses in black and pink...Comic fans, help me out for the last 3.... I snapped a few pics...too blurry/grainy for the galleries, but ill chuck em here. More to come...

No, a name for the attraction as a whole.

Theme Park Needs
Hey, this might be fun, Ill try and balance it out (So, my park won't be 5 B&Ms, or 5 4D dark rides): -4D Dark ride/Robocoaster dark ride (So along the lines of The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, or Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey) -B&M Inverted Coaster (They really are one of the best types of coasters out there) -Intamin Wooden Coaster (See Above) -Themed river rapids (Designed to be ridiculously wet, with many of the newer elements like drops and whirlpools) -Eerrrm, a really tall drop tower I guess?

My Day At Movieworld
I'll cover both bases. Yes, the shipping containers (Brown ones?) have been there for years from memory. The loose item boxes haven't changed in that period either. Agreed, I rode recently and you could tell there was plenty of smoke because you could smell it in the air, which is a first in my memory. But yeah, the ride really is epic when it's in this sort of top notch state. I miss that old green vortex laser though. I know people have made the comment that they never see characters, but I think how many characters you see really comes down to where you opt to spend your day in the park (And it also helps if you check the show guide for when the outdoor performances are on....don't hold me to this, but I think you can ask about character times at the photo centre) I mean, characters basically hang out on Main Street, so if you are a typical coaster/thrill nut, and spend a a lot of time hopping from WWF to SDSC to Lethal to SE to Batwing you'd be mostly bypassing main street via those shortcuts, and hence likely to miss them. Well, its currently a bench (lolollolz Bench: the ride !!!11111!!) but if you look closely there are power and data points there.

^So, If we are talking about Scooby for instance, would you say it has 'lighting effects' or 'laser effects'? But Lasers? This keeps sounding better and better.

The Off Topic Topic
^Man, some really awesome attractions have been premiering of late, another couple worth looking at are: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure: For those unfamiliar, guests sit on 'magical benches' which are really 4 person gondolas on the end of a robotic arm. The arm is attached to a base travels along a track, and the arm twists and turns the gondola past omnimax screens and real life sets. Even though the video above is a bit dark, it looks pretty amazing from the bits you can see. This is how the ride vehicles look in their entirety: But guests only see this much: At Universal Studios Japan their new Space Fantasy Mack spinning coaster looks really cool. A Space Mountain beater?

WnW 2010: Aqua Loop, Flowrider, Zipline, Skycoaster
Well, theres a huge bundle of galvanised steel supports, ladders and stairs on site now. It really looks like this is going to be huge. One pic, but it's a start. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas..._Steelwork.html

matty_o's RCT2 & RCT3 Park Recreations
Looks pretty cool, quite accurate but a couple of things could be changed... -Motocoaster is black and yellow, not blue and yellow. -The park doesn't have a chairlift anymore -On Cyclone, the helix before the two inversions is slightly wrong. You have it going S bend, left turn, right U turn, half loop, half corkscrew, half loop. In real life it goes s bend, 270 degree turn, half corkscrew, half loop (And as the track enters the 270 degree turn, it goes under the half corkscrew) See here: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&sou...mp;t=h&z=20

A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
PASS! If you're going to go the expense of getting the Terminator licence, you wouldn't waste it on some spin and spew...you could actually do something good with a storyline behind it (Since this is what Movie World tends to specialise in anyway...)
-
A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
Well, the regular Disko' is a larger version of a Rockin tug, but the coaster version is a significant step up again: One of these is clearly a kiddie ride, and one clearly isn't, plus they appeal to different people. Besides, its not like Luna Park already has something similar, do they?
-
A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
<Bangs head against wall> That was my whole point... Remember what you wrote: Saying a Disk'o' coaster is Rockin' Tug is wrong, one is larger, longer and faster, more intense/nauseating and has a completely different seating arrangement. Hence me making the Pirate Ship/Ranger analogy, they aren't alike, and neither is a Disk'o' Coaster/Rockin' Tug.

How busy is movieworld lately?
Wait, did you do a copypasta of your earlier post?
-
A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
They were able to give the 1995 incarnation of that ride that name though weren't they? That's a bit like saying a ranger is a bigger version of a pirate ship...In a way, yes, but the rides aren't comparable.

A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
Nah forget space roller, sky roller is where it's at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJbs7z0FIck 1:20 is where you really get to see the ride at its best.
-
A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
Ah, so if Mondial are a legend, then I guess having one at LPS won't be a problem After all, you said yourself you can't make any true criticisms of them. Thats pretty much it...It'd be like Dreamworld replacing wipeout with a Topsin, or the Claw with a Frisbee. Yeah, there are differences, but they aren't compelling enough for the average visitor.
-
A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
So, the gist of your argument for picking particular rides over others for LPS is..........? Yeah, but the differences aren't enough to motivate a layperson to make a specific visit to the park, which is the whole point of building new rides, to get more people to visit.

A new ride replacing LPS Ranger?
^I kind of think the No Limit looks cooler, it acts like a huge top spin. Whats the point? How would you be able to market it as a new ride? Remember, the general public aren't going to be able to spot these minuscule difference that only carnival ride nerds can. As far as the public are concerned its still a spinny ride with a wavy shaped track. To me, it just seems like a lot of this conversation is driven by peoples 'pet' manufacturers rather than any sense of reality: Being made by a particular manufacturer isn't some silver bullet that automatically makes it a good ride or not. ....Being a good ride makes it a good ride. Besides, you haven't even ridden half this stuff anyway, so how can you judge: Surley you should just ride stuff to see what it's like, not because you like the manufacturer? And how did you come to dislike them in the first place if you've never ridden one PS Spotty, that Magnum ride you posted looks wierd...Why is the control booth a giant can of coke wearing headphones. Why does the backdrop have a picture of a homeless person?

^Well, if you were keen, Astro Orbitor (!), Alice in Wonderland, Roger Rabbit, Casey Jr Circus Train, Pooh, Honey I Shrunk the Audience and Tiki Room were the other gaps And over at DCA Monsters Inc, Golden Zephyr and I'ts tough to be a bug are the only gaps. Edit: I discovered did have a photo of the haunted mansion from an earlier trip on another hard drive, but it was just one of the side rather than the grand front...ah well, in it goes.

And Now Disneyland and DCA have been done too...I didn't quite plug all the gaps (Still not photos of Haunted Mansion...Whoops) http://www.parkz.com.au/photos/members/page355.html And there's some construction pics of World of Color too: http://www.parkz.com.au/photos/US/Anaheim/...r/construction/
