  1. Why would Verbolten need OTSRs? It has no inversions.
  2. AlexB, Escape from Pompeii has full 3x scale roman statues dropping over the ride path overhead at high speed, so it's fully possible.
  3. I think MW has plenty of space.... The park could always expand southwards towards the studios.
  4. There's also one at Dorney Park, which I hope to ride in a couple of weeks. Inexplicably, the first time I was at SFMM Freefall was going, but I decided to ride Tidal Wave instead. And then on my next visit it was gone
  5. This pic sums it up: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/3549-Colossus/gallery/sort/newest/location/ride-824/offset/6 The sensation is exactly the same because modern engineering/computing make it possible to provide the same heart line sensation, without the difficulty of putting the car between the rails. In the end Togo worked this out anyway by just having normal coaster track running through hoops. http://rcdb.com/33.htm?p=1031
  6. Yes, the wait at the top on GD is unique, but adding 40 seconds per cycle is too much of an impact on hourly capacity.
  7. Not counting TOT at Disney, Lex Luthor is my favorite... Better restraints, mucks around less at the top, and the tower shakes more.
  8. https://youtu.be/8dbDJzDV1CM
  9. No, he meant Bandit Bomber at Yas Water world (Its in Abu Dhabi by the way not Dubai) Roller soaker is a different ride, by a different manufacturer.
  10. I'm sorry, but have you even been to DW? Everyone knows that the launch of TOT is hard up against the maintenance bay/station of Motocoaster.
  11. Reminds me of Blue Lagoon at DW where the rafts were just those old inner tubes.
  12. I'm not sure how long dyes would last in the weather. My thoughts, just some European style immature trees (Birch etc), brambles, conifers, wildflowers. Obviously pick species that will survive in Perth.
  13. Someone else has a problem with OTSRs causing head banging. ... To perfectly honest, there's no real reason for any looping coaster to use OTSRs....Intamin don't anymore, mack don't, Maurer dont, Gerstlauer don't....its only really B&M that do, but they're pretty conservative, and in any case their rides are smooth enough for headbanging to not matter.
  14. Everyone has been hiding the news from you on purpose.
  15. But, Richard, chips from a vending machine though. Yeah but you can get a pocket battery pack for $30 or so....How do you guys think I did 15 hour days at Cedar Point taking photos?
  16. > Superman was running 1 train today....but they were grouping guests behind the doors again >Scooby has its axes back.
  17. I want to see rides at AW use the hillside as much as possible. Some sort of coaster that uses the hillside well, such as Iron rattler or boulder dash (Appropriately scaled) would be great when it comes time for another big investment.
  18. Pushbutton, why do you specifically complain about being offended more than the average member?
  19. Wildebeest was 5.5 million too, though in 2010 dollars, and with the Australia tax it'd be hard to see even the standard width version happen.
  20. Yeah, I'd be happy with Lightning Run, was a great ride actually... Lots of airtime and quick turns, and despite being short felt quite complete.
  21. There's a toboggan run there you could go irresponsibly fast on however.
  22. Because there can only be one vehicle per block. If the ride control system knows the block ahead isn't clear it holds the train back automatically to prevent a rear ender. Eg by stopping the lift, or by holding it on one of the brake runs along the ride. This is a standard feature on any roller coaster running more than one vehicle. http://www.davealthoff.com/tech/blocking.html
  23. What about the Spin Dragon accident at the Adelaide show where the whole Gondola fell off? http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/spin-dragon-a-risk-for-years/story-e6freo8c-1111112630409
  24. This....I think the best B&M you might expect from DW might be something Krake sized (Unless they decided to just do a random large investment out of the blue) Personally, I think rides that the small to medium sized European parks show the way....Karacho, Alpina Blitz, Piraten, Lynet....All stuff Id very much enjoy seeing, and I think realistic.
