Shows at Sea world are being reduced from Monday also. Dolphin show seems to be unchanged while seals and thunder lake are down to 1 show Monday -Thursday

Storm coaster was running last night well at least while it was still light it was still in operation

Took the family to Carnival tonight for opening night with what I would call cautious optimism, I’d heard it was going to be bigger and better then last year, more immersive more entertaining more everything. My first thought was well yeah that’s hard, last year was so underwhelming half way through I thought about leaving and only stayed cause i felt like having a rest. The fact a ticket is included with our locals pass was the only reason we attended tonight after last year I wouldn’t have bothered paying for a seperate ticket. So fingers crossed we arrived at 5:30 to enter the park the usual “please mind your social distance” rang out everywhere and enforced random places. You enter and notice the size of the structure on the lake, impressive we have a little bit of hope. Gone is the stage area on the water from last year where dancers entered and hid for 15min to reappear and dance off. We make our way past the penguin area (Rio) and notice a food truck some dancers and couple games. Nice food already and we’re 50m into the park. The kids danced we played a game and moved on, We head to vortex for a quick ride, long line but high load capacity made it quick to get on, even at night the views are amazing, and I was getting way to excited seeing Leviathan lite up in the distance and thinking about the sound and look of the coaster flying around the track at night, We leave vortex, head past the lagoon and arrive at Mexico, more food dockside tavern doubles as fiesta feast, more games, mask decorating and now fire twirlers and stilt walkers. We watch the fire play check out the giant skull and move on into New Orleans, we arrive as street party “parade” is dancing its way along, We got dancers, juggling acts, bands it’s really a hive of activity, all the normal food retail is open plus cocktails and couple more food trucks we decided to eat the burrito’s and loaded fries which were amazing surprise surprise I know but way better then park food, actually just good in general no complaints from anyone, Coctail down “also good” we moved on to Africa it was nice to see cast away bay used as I remember last year there was nothing there or at least that I seen maybe I missed it but I didn’t this year. African dancers more food and ice cream plus battle boats open we skipped Infinity “been there done that” and made our way back to Aqua Light Show. C’mon guys surely we can come up with a name better then the amazing Aqua Lightshow??? But here we are sitting almost centre about 4 rows waiting, kids eating ice cream waiting for 8:30 to roll around, then bang the flames go off the music starts and we get a couple of fireworks, this is new there’s anticipation, it’s buildings then bang more flames more fireworks and the water starts, everything in time with the music it’s building nicely. We get our first performers 4 drummers with lighted drums and water vibrating up with every hit, break dancers centre stage, the wife approved. All the while the music, water, lights, lazers and fireworks all timed together with the dancer, so far so good. Jetskis have arrived circling at first then rigged with fireworks the join in circling the island, perfoming some simple manoeuvres all in time and couple of near miss passes and side by side runs all with in time fireworks being set off from a setup on the back of the ski’s looks awesome. Drummers return dancers follow the music turns up the water effects are everywhere and it’s fireworks galore then bang the final major sequence of colour, fire and music and the place goes dark and the crowd erupts. The kids 4,10,15 all loved it, I went in thinking so poorly I had no hope but wow what a show hats off to them from last year to this year %100 improvement I would pay to go again we enjoyed the entire experience that much. Sure things could be improved from a Covid stand point, packed park lots of family’s and 1 ride attendant to load unload and clean the a ride makes for slow moving lines and a great excuse not to do the rides, Some areas some quieter then others so don’t have the same atmosphere, Jet rescue was running but no music or anything carnival related around there, running the tmnt show is nice for the kids but would love to see something carnival or Mexican related seeing as it is in the Mexican area, Be interesting to hear what others thought, it’s not disney World of Color nor should we expect it to be but it was vast improvement from last year and I was pleasantly surprised!! Disney park apps show the wait times no matter where in the world you are. Being able to easily see what rides are down for Maintanence would be way better then wait times, when in the park wait times and closed rides are easy to see, when outside the park i couldn’t figure out how to see what rides are closed with out going to the website, that’s a huge miss for me closed rides and planned maintenance should be easily seen

I do love reading the arguments on here about why they Village roadshow should let us know how busy they are before we go so we can decide if we go or not, does everyone forget this is a Bussiness if they have 2 hour long lines and the park is full they don’t care their happy they did their job and got people into the park, we as consumers want no lines and an empty park which is not viable and then we’d have no parks to visit. I’m a fan of the virtual queue and relate it similar to Disney fast pass, you can line up for 1.5hours or get a fast pass time that maybe 6 hours away depending on numbers same as virtual queue the more people who use it the longer the virtual queue is, your complaint should be to the people using it to stay home rather then village for letting us use the service. I for 1 never check wait times before I go I use my head and think school holidays yep it’ll be packed. I would agree on fast pass 1 ride per ride is a bit to tight and some have long lines while others are 10min unlimited rides on the older ones and maybe a limit of 1 on dc I think is fair has anyone else noticed the new addition to the queue with a ride option and price???? I only noticed today after checking ride time

not sure if it was there last year or its new, but i haven't seen it before, Kids got a photo with batman and they were able to sit in the car, its an upcharge but kids loved it and very cool to be able to hop in the batmobile Love all the characters roaming, random drive by's and the extra cosplayers Not as busy at night as i thought it might have been but that's a plus for me and not so much the parks

I get the feeling that’s the cycle we’re getting for opening, it’s also a quick cycle which will help push the numbers through quicker with the slow loading and tech issues that come with a new ride. Apparently Sunday we shall see people having a ride, it may have changed with all the storms and rain this week, but I’d be heading out Sunday and just hanging around

there are fountains present i have seen them on, Haven't seen them high about 1/2m in height the most I've seen, but every time i go to get a pic they have gone back down

Heard whispers it’s a week away. Staff training has been done and evacuation scenarios carried out, expect to see live test dummies on it sooner rather then later

Logical maybe but listen to what Mum says she was standing there in a pool of blood in pain and no staff around to help, 1) there’s always staff at the base of a waterslide, 2) No one from whitewater world is going to apologise and say sorry we were short staffed. 3) as a parent I’m going to check my kids injury as soon as I see the smallest amount of blood or that their in pain.

Read between the lines the statement from dreamworld saying she was told how to ride and position her self along with being shown by the operator sounds like they will say the girl didn’t follow instructions, the whole story doesn’t make sense if the mums a nurse she could have taken one look and called the ambulance not taken her to the on duty nurse for assistance. Any injuries on ride/slide/show that have blood everywhere aren’t handled by showing them which to go to see the first aid office. I hope the little girl is fine as has no health issues into the future but something stinks about this story and Mum thinking even if she didn’t ride it correctly it’s still dreamworlds fault and if that’s not then it’s their fault how the handled it after the accident because she’s a registered nurse and she would have handled it better, because you know why wouldn’t she at least have a look at what had happened before walking her daughter around with blood pouring out of her.

Seems odd to post on leviathan to announce something about Vortex. Maybe we get to see the trains their going to be using or an official POV

After a few days of empty tests it’s back to 1/3 weight tests on vortex, also heard date to open will be Boxing Day but trying to have it open the week leading up to Christmas, so don’t expect to be riding it early December

Let’s just hope all the rich kids who bought a fancy apartment overlooking a theme park don’t get their way again. The last Big Dipper was severely limited in opening hours, there’s already residents on the news stories complaining that they weren’t consulted about the new rides. A kind of loop hole allows for replacements, modifications and upgrades of existing rides. I for one can’t understand living in a place overlooking a theme park only to complain about the noise.
