HI, In the disco part of scooby there are ride-ops that have small enclosed booths that are place out near the brake runs so when the ride dose breakdown they can access the carriages to be evacuate. the ride-ops on standby all were special harnesses that attach to the walkway platforms which sit next too the track in the brake sections (which are around about 6-7 of these) and in the two elevating platforms, when the ride needs to be evacuated the ride-ops walk to the carriage and then one by one unlocks the lap-bars, after being released you are told to follow the walkway to the exit doors which in this situation are clearly lit Once outside, you make your way down the stairs and follow a yellow line which will lead you back too the park. (when superman wasn't there lethal weapon had evacuation from the q-line which led out the back where superman is now, you can still see the yellow evacuation line painted on the tarmac) I must say it pretty exciting to breakdown on Scooby, you can see how far you are off the ground especially when in the elevator. oh and another thing about the elevating platforms, say you were on your way to the top in the elevator and the ride broke down, the the elevator still continues to the top so the ride-ops can evacuate you. yes they were testing yesterday and training staff that also went on and the park engineers did too, it's a very fast ride ride, over in like 5sec and then it just bounces back down, thats it, the theming is done, however the bat car is not at the arch yet but the other car is (around the other side) its brand new too. they were instaling the exit path gates and around the ride itself I was talking to a worker there and he said that when it goes up 3-4 meters off the ground to weigh the car, there will be steam/smoke that goes off that smothers the car when just about to launch, it will really add to the themeing -

oh yes! Supermans brakes well they are brass plates that are connected to the track and there are two strips arranged like this "II" they are very very strong rear earth Mag's that are connected to the bottom of each car on the train. as the train comes into the brake run the brass plates connected to the track slides between the two magnets under each car, triming the speed slowly making a big Woossshhh sound as it slows. these magnetic brakes use eddy currants which when the magnets passes over the plates the plates oppisites the direction the object (train) is moving, creating a very smooth and quiet stop with no jolting like other friction brakes and for the vortex, yes i know it uses lasers, but i was wanting to tell people how to create this effect at home
-
today im going to talk about the effect that is used at the end of the ride, "the green vortex" heres a great link to re create this simple effect at home vortex effect

the bat wing ride is not really a space shot even though the name insists it is, it really is a combo tower ride, it will launch you straight up after it weighs your car and then once up there you will stay up the top for a short while and then it will then pull you down faster than gravity -
"Wait, i thought you had inside knowlege or something. Are you posting up what is known to be true, or what you think is true?" well a bit of both really, most of the effects are facts as i study them and the rides too (just not that good on the whole sensor think though ) here's a good link to tell you all about the sensors sensor systems
