Went to AW today and was quite pleased at how the new Flume Ride was coming along. Saw a test of the flume ride too with water (no cars) and rode the Redback. It's about time that place got some new rides. Rode the Bizzy Buggies again and was also wondering how long that ride's been there for at AW, where (if) it has previously existed and how old it is. My favourite part of it though is not the operator's spiel (which I can barely hear cause now he has to yell over the noise of the Redback and he doesn't use a microphone), it is the cars themselves. They're like scaled down versions of a golf cart. Still sick of the Rock N Roll Rebel being in the same place - and the game zone that is behind it is tiny as. There's only a bunch of arcade games in there including the largest one 'Haunted Museum' which sounds lame - not like 'House of the Dead' and a few Daytona USA machines and other assorted coin-op games. Funnybone Flicks is pretty neat - saw a film on girls modeling on ice and the projectionist was calling the audience perverts n stuff - pretty funny. The Voyager Simulator was 'down for maintenance' according to the sign on the entry steps. Shame. They had some good films though. And if you look at the comparison of space between the Rock N Roll Rebel and the new game zone behind it the Rock N Roll Rebel is heaps larger. It's rough as guts though and you can hardly hear the music cause of all the noise the cars make as they go around the track. Wild Mouse was fun but rough (as usual). The music on all of the rides is okay, but really needs to be better themed to the rides. For example the Octopus I heard playing a bit of Justin Bieber's 'Baby' instead of 'Octopus' Garden' and the Redback really needs to have 'Redback on the Toilet Seat' as it's theme song. The Booma Zooma wasn't too rough (although a couple of seats were missing harness chains which reduces the capacity per hour) - if you get the chance and have shoes on you can skim the top of the bush near the ride as it slows down which I think is quite fun. The signage for the Tin Lids Tea Party is faded - it needs a fresh bit of paint to make it look good although the cars appear to have been repainted recently. The ride next to it (could be the Giggle Go Round) with the train and the boat and everything needs to have better horns - they sound terrible. Food's great although the chips are a bit expensive - and for a single scoop of icecream I did get more than I was expecting for $3.50 (did not buy a double scoop to help clear things up) Rode the Stockshed Speedway 2 times and found it great although there were a few pileups with the cars Ferris wheel sounds a bit creaky - may be time for an inspection I think. All up I'd rate AW a 8/10 for everything.
