  1. In my imagination, that could almost be an ice cream parlour! I am dumb, so I await correction by somebody wise!
  2. Well I guess Cedar Fair had a good run... Let's look forward to lots of cheap tickets to their parks and lacklustre attraction offerings coupled with low standards hey!
  3. I remember the amount of signs on the log ride saying not to rock the boat, are the cages now in place to prevent it from tipping? Or more so stopping people from trying to get out?
  4. Ha Ha Ha. I would hit my head on the bar getting in and out. Personally, I would have gone with Knotts system of sensors telling riders to sit down. Wouldn't look like shit either. Could these cages be used only to lift the logs in and out of the ride trough?
  5. A little bit of Everything!! (Sorry for the bad Quality!)
  6. Not too sure if any of you are interested, but I thought I'd just write a little about this anyways. Here in my hometown of New Plymouth, New Zealand there is New Zealand's fastest hydroslide. The tower at our aquatic centre houses 2 slides, the "family slide" and the "turbo slide". The family slide is not thrilling however the turbo slide is a reasonably steep drop which can reach speeds of up to 50KM/H depending on your weight according to the designers. The slides were a prototype and had a number of flaws which delayed the opening, and still have some flaws today. One of these flaws is an uneven surface at the bottom of the main drop of the turbo slide which actually gives you a very small amount of airtime (literally), and after the drop you basically stop and have to push yourself for the rest of the ride. If any of you are in New Zealand some time, you should definitely check out this slide as it is quite a thrilling experience. Recently the aquatic centre installed a new pump on the turbo slide and also installed some jets which give you a boost at the end of the ride. ABOVE: The new slides installed in 2008, opened in mid 2009. --- Prior to these slides our local aquatic centre was home to 4 outdoor slides, which were closed in 2008 due to corrosion in the ride structure. Some of these parts were used on the new slides. There were 2 unenclosed slides which required a mat to be used, and there were 2 flume style bodyslides. It is really hard to find photos of these slides so a huge thanks to Todd Energy Aquatic Centre for sending me these.
  7. Just went past the park Crane on site where Wipeout is, Counterweight has been reinstalled on the right arm
  8. I would just like to reiterate my involvement with GW ended some time ago and I have no influence on their marketing, choice/presentation of rides/slides whatsoever. I made a few improvements to their plans where possible but my involvement was so late in the project that not much could be changed. I did influence them to change the name from the proposed "Oz Venture Park" to GW. Phew!
  9. Where else would Push be.
  10. Wait a second, what has happened to the Rocky Hollow area which had Giant Drop and RHLR? And why did the Town of Gold Rush get renamed back to Gold Rush Country, according to this park map? Can someone explain to me when this happened?
  11. Thoughts on this? https://youtu.be/eED7yhKD5vg
  12. I was just about to post that ahahah, starh told me today ahaha
  13. I think you'll find that a ride attendant will stand there under the umbrella to monitor the back area of the ride which the op above the station can only see in very few limited cameras. But I can also see this giving the main op an less stressful job only having to watch that part which will be more demanding with the new station system. Also I find this method of safety extremely unnecessary but obviously a sea belt was too hard.
  14. Like dreamworlds ok if they keep pushing back the RHLR back but MovieWorld also isn’t connected to a waterpark like Dreamworld, Dreamworld only has a gate separating the water park and Themepark when MovieWorld has Atleast 1km
  15. Pfft... who wants to ride water rides in summer anyways...
  16. Only the second time in 2017 actually for me.
