New Park & Ride Database features
More or less. There's also cropping and rotating to make sure the picture's straight. I do also generally balance the colours, because digital cameras don't always get it right and it helps to put some life into most photos.

New Park & Ride Database features
The problem with that is the amount of editing that each photo goes through, as well as the minimum resolution and quality standards I have in place. If you want to submit photos, then it's easier to do by following the steps outlined on the Contribute page.

New Park & Ride Database features
This is just a taste of what's to come in the next few months as Roller-Coaster.com.au moves forward to the next level, bringing more user-controlled features to the site. It is now possible for anyone to add parks, coasters and rides into the Park & Ride database. On the main Database page, there are now three links to allow users to submit: Add Park Add Coaster Add Ride or Attraction If you notice anything missing then it takes only a few moments to add something to the database.

Warner Village spends big bucks
RCDB's wrong. The figure is most definitely AUD.

The safety of the braking system in Scooby?
It's equally as safe as every other brake on every other modern coaster around the world. Outside of freak incidents where pipelines have cracked or ruptured (as a result of poor maintenance), I don't believe I've ever heard of brakes failing. The PLCs controlling the brakes say "stop, the elevator's not here yet", and the brakes listen (it's not often that they misbehave). It's also useful to note that they're not pneumatic brakes at this point on the ride, they're tyre drive systems, which lock if there's no power going to them, and all speed on the ride at this point in the ride is from these tyres, so not too much chance of it running away. Just call it a freaky effect - I know I've thought the same things when it's happened to me. It just adds to the dilapidated ghost train theme.

thunderbolt site work
I don't believe I ever saw it run both trains despite both being there and functional. What it did have was a better designed station which worked much better with only one or two operators running the ride. It also never had queues nearly as long as Cyclone, so naturally you wouldn't ahve to wait as long.

Warner Village spends big bucks
Don't get me wrong. I don't doubt that we'll end up with something great, it's just not all adding up for me yet.

Warner Village spends big bucks
Well that's the point I think I was alluding to. I can't see there being enough money for either with $12 million.

Warner Village spends big bucks
I've merged the two topics we had on this - rabid beat me by 20 minutes with posting this news. Onto this new ride, I for one am a little worried with what they can do with $12 million. That's an even smaller budget than Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster, and that was a fraction of what we can expect this to be in terms of ride technology. I just hope that's an early estimate or is for the ride system alone, because otherwise they're not leaving much room at all to impress - either with the actual ride or the theming.

Runnaway Reptar Vs Road Runner
I find it funny that the only people voting for Runaway Reptar are those that haven't been on Road Runner, which I would have to say is a superior ride in many ways. It's a more intense ride, and you won't ever find 90 minute queues for it, which is more than you can say for Reptar (and it has nothing to do with the quality of the rides).

You're kidding? There's a link to the database as well as a search box on every page of this site. Click two buttons and you can find out the date yourself.

The Australian Outback Spectacular goes ahead
This attraction will be a separate entity from Warner Bros. Movie World. It is not the 2005 Movie World attraction.

Massive Dreamworld Expansion
As far as I can remember the land for the town centre is only partly owned by Macquarie Leisure. There are other parties involved. A waste? What about the millions upon millions of guests this ride has brought in over the years? Wouldn't that also mean also we can't get a looper either, because no doubt it'd be bigger and better than Cyclone. No chance of any water rides bigger than the Log Ride either. Seriously, Tower of Terror is a ride that's getting on eight years old. It's done its job as an investment. I don't doubt that it still has a long life to go at Dreamworld, but there's no way you could argue that they can't outdo it (be that in terms of speed, height or reliability) with excuses of redundancy.

2005 Calendars
Fingers crossed tomorrow. If not then early next week at the latest. I'll mail them out the day that I receive them, and they shouldn't take more than a few days to get to most people.

wonderbus was referring to The Demon at Wonderland Sydney. Read the thread in its entirity and think before saying stupid things.

World's Fastest Coaster:Again
Anything can be done - at a cost. You must realise how ridiculously much it would cost to launch a train at such speeds. Then there's space. Do you know how much land it would be needed for a ride like this? The launch track would be a kilometre or longer. Throw in a brake run and you'd be looking at a ride that's 2km or longer with just a tophat as the only element on the ride. Launches would be the only way to get to these speeds. Apart from the size of the structure needed at these heights being out of the question, there's a little thing called terminal velocity that would make it impossible to attain to such speeds with gravity alone.

Massive Dreamworld Expansion
I have to agree with rabid disney on this one. There's been very little to suggest, both in the above article as well as my own (more in depth) ongoing research into this, that it will be made up of chiefly theme park elements. It sounds nice and all, but more for a growing community than to the theme park. I personally find it insulting to even suggest that Dreamworld will ever be as good as Disneyland. I respect Dreamworld for what it is, but it isn't and never will be of a Disneyland-standard. It does hint at bigger new attractions which is good to hear, especially after an 6-year break from the large thrill investments. However I would much rather see reinvestment in the form of more spent on staffing and upkeep, rather than a few big fun rides. I find it downright insulting to see that their response to lengthy queue times is not to increase the capacity on rides, but to install a few LCD screens to keep people occupied. Unless some changes are made to the way money is spent, I can only see Dreamworld head further and further down the path lead by Six Flags Magic Mountain, regardless of any new fangled resorts or whatever.

Im going to Disneyland!
Disney parks are about far far more than rides. A day at a Disney park is a journey that brings to life all sorts of fantasies. I urge you when you go, to check out everything, even the boring "kiddies" rides. Take time to soak up the atmosphere. Eat at one of the park's restaurants rather than going the fast food option and browse the shops, even if you have no intentions of buying anything. Above all, make sure you have a good time (though it's impossible not to), and we want to hear about everything in a trip report when you get back.

S.A parks?
The Brisbane Myer Centre's top floor was originally home to "Tops". It had a Zamperla powered coaster called the Dragon Coaster or a variation on that name, a swinging ship (now seen at Aussie World), a Ferris Wheel and a few other attractions. It's now a cinema complex, with the only remains of Tops being the small arcade bearing the same name.

Wonderland Music
What is the nature of the content? Is/was it commercially available and purchased by the park, or was it written exclusively for the park? Selling copyrighted content through Cafepress could cause all sorts of legal issues. In bootleg trading, there's a thing called B&P (blanks and postage). What happens is people will send the required number of blank CDs and a self-addressed stamped return envelope to the person who has the bootlegs. The person burns the CDs and mails them back. No exchange of money takes place, and no laws are broken (in the context of trading of bootlegs - I don't know about this Wonderland stuff). I'd suggest doing it this way. I'll leave this for you guys to work out. If you do want to share them as compressed MP3s, then feel free to email the files to me. I can't guarantee that I will put them up, but if it seems legally sound enough, then I may put them on the site for all to see. See the Contribute page for a suitable email address.

The Good, The bad and the Dreamworld
They currently do have a deal with Sea FM I believe and do just that. It's not a broadcast though, it's just songs with Sea FM ads in between. I must add that Sea FM don't play half-bad music... for a commercial station.
