Somewhat unrelated, I remember not too long after the NTG Space Probe sponsporship agreement was made, NTG went into voluntary administration or suffered financial hardship (or something along those lines). I very much doubt it was to do with its relation to WLS but still some useless trivia for you all...

Save the Pussy's!! Bring back Wonderland!

Hmm... What about Six Flags Industrial Park??
-
Bus, is that photo taken from the Sydney Water access road?
-
Auto Speil I used: Welcome... Welcome... Welcome... Welcome... Damn thing kept skipping. Nah just kept flippin the autospeil on and off. Also, if you heard the speil while you were going up lift 1 you'll know who i am! I cant believe we all still remember that... Bugger, now I am getting recollections of the Probe theming

I can support Bus in saying there has never been a Boomerang charlie on the Demon. Alex, if you investigate the situation further you will realise that in the event of a boomerang charlie, the park would literally go into lock-down and would require emergency services to be notified and placed on standby. Surely the exposure would land itself in the local media, alas with Space Probe's incident.

Guest Relations and admin were two different departments.

Great idea bus. Why not throw in a few old tombstones for theming?
-
Yep Bussy, thats them! Skyrider would be sold as an entire package, and I would doubt that the gondolas would be sitting in a graveyard when they were stored in under and in the HB/GR stations.
-
The main pylons and cable of Skyrider is still visible from the M4. Are you referring to the gondolas? Fred Flinstone's Splashdown was removed in 2002 (and hooray for that) and sat in the Demon Graveyard before being removed from the park (to where, i do not know) Silly Stix and the original Clippers (Galleons) boats were stored in the Beastie graveyard.

Memories hey Danny... Yeah and Demon broke down 6 times that night... and broke down on the stroke of midnight!!
-
Yes Bus. I agree And Danny, I think I know Melanie the same way you do mate.
-
Who can forget the good old days hey Danny!
-
Hi Melanie! I know who you are but doubt you know me. If you remember operating Galleons, you will remember that when the ride is 2-3 metres off the ground, the ride stops. The 'Lower after Stopping' button must be depressed and held until the ride rests on the ground. You need to be re-trained!! just kidding!

I think you're talking about Blues Point Tower. Apparently a hot-spot for potential suicide(es!)

Hello 'Dude', Yes legal obligations apply to apprenticeships and although I am sorry to hear about the closure of your company, it has absolutely nothing to do with Wonderland's obligations, considering its staff base was largely casual. Wonderland felt it was a 'moral' responsibility as it was one of the largest employers in Western Sydney. Indeed they made the effort, in negotiating with Luna Park for staff interviews and so forth. Wonderland is different. I have no doubts that Wonderland HR were making attempts to seek employment for its staff, but its own survival (as any company would) was its priority. It wanted their staff to remain until its closing date, but many companies (again using Luna Park as an example) wanted staff to commence work prior to Wonderland's closure. Hence the hesitation to relocate staff.

In response to your questions... Steven Galbraith? Good guy or bad? - Consider the Park's closure and the parks 'effort' to help employees find alternative employment. That should answer that one. majority of WL staff were employeed as casual workers although some were working full time rostered shifts. This was so management didn't have to pay entitlements and could dismiss staff easily - Employment at Wonderland was seasonal, so a casual (flexible) workforce was easier to maintain in terms of $$$ What was employee turnover like? - Very high, always new staff joining the company How was pay like? - Very much a reason for the high turnover. Oh, and overtime was a sin! But when u enjoy work, it somewhat doesnt matter.

I notice that in the database, there is no mention of Dreamworld's role in the sale/removal of the ex-Titan/Demon from Expo Park in Brisbane. Im not too sure what happened with its intended use as the replacement for the big dipper at LP Melbourne. The ride sat dormant at Dreamworld for some time whilst the park went through financial difficulties... The ride was then purchased by Wonderland. Has anyone got more info on this??

The entire tear drop is removed. The lift only remains...

Operation of Attractions...

Best Rides: Snowy > Always 2 people down there... can also be fun with the geysers  Skyrider > Again, someone there (2 person op)... Can have a great chat as you dispatch. Liked to deal with breakdowns. Prefered tension (Goldrush) terminal Probe > If you ever heard someone squeeling 'I want my mummy', using the tower PA, or getting the queue line to wave as they pass the cameras... thats probably me.... Great fun Demon > Always been a favourite and the most interesting in the many breakdowns I saw in my time. Worst Rides: Galleons/Clippers > That mooing noise really got to me Skyhawk > Hated staring into the glaring sun Planes > Couldn't stand the parents who dumped their kids on Planes, and wandered off for a coffee and cake as their kids went around again and again and again.... Easiest to operate: Dodgems > Start (and if needed - Stop) -
Of course they need new electronic controls on parashooter... the dispatch controls from skyhawk were picked up as souvineers during its deconstruction
-
Yeah thanks for the neck injuries, distorted visions and blackouts... A great idea indeed.

Thought i'd add my two cents worth... "Is it true they have emergency exits in the Space Probe?"... (A guest who took the Preshow program too seriously) "I heard that the chairs (Dragons Flight) fly off if you twist them too much" (Well wouldn't that make it a fun ride??) "Are they real gravestones?" (The transylvania themeing) "Can you make sure no-one bumps into my car?" (A cautious driver riding the err... BUMPER cars!) "I'm not letting my child go on that ride on their own!" (A concerned parent on Baby Bumpers "Oh I thought this did a round trip" (Riders on Skyrider after missing two signs stating it was a 'ONE WAY' trip)
