Very true Bus, considering you have the Bush Beast and a plantation of trees obstructing the view. PattieBoi, think of something a little more believable before you come rampaging on this forum posting crap. -

Your girlfriend isn't a blow-up doll is she?? Its the only kind of girlfriend that would give you the backhander if u placed her second to a theme park. -
I believe it was bought from Market town (Westfield) Mt Druitt.

The ride, if I can remember correctly was removed in late 2001/early 2002 around the similar time as Flume so to suggest it was stored for 5 years is absurd! Before we post from erroneous sources we should check the validity and usefulness of such sources. Then again, that would cut about half the posts on these forums..

Skyrider is a ride. Skylink in Dreamworld is a ride. Seaworld's monorail is a ride. Where do you draw the comparison?? I dont care if you have had this debate before, but I am entitled to my own opinion which ironically happens to be fact. It was a people mover and also provided a birds eye view of the park, hence the notion that SkyRIDEr is a ride. Just because a ride operated for a short time doesnt mean it cannot be called a ride.... thats just plain stupid!
-
Now let me make a small correction... Skyrider was added in 98 and when I last counted using my fingers that was about 6 years ago.

Bush Beast wasn't the only ride to be 'fixed'...

Thats right bus... lets say she aint dead and buried!

This topic proves that crap prevails throughout these forums. Hint for next time guys, make up something believable! And better still you know ex-WLS staff monitor these forums so you know any lies will be exposed Oh and i was stuck on the Bush Beast fan curve, and upside down in the Demon's tear drop, and ended up in the reservior after falling out of my snowy boat... you didn't know??? -
Daniel, no your not!! Just say to yourself... 'I can be happy!'
-
I don't think I'll be visiting a theme park run by you!

Dreamworld, the inefficient park?
ScReAMmachine! replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Of course queue design has to do with Cyclone's capacity issue. The end of the queue is considerably far from the loading station, therefore in one person operation, capacity is reduced by the operator waiting for the train to return, unload, disable the ride, go to the queue house, let the guests through and do their required checks. If Cyclone utlilsed a Bush Beast-style queue house, actual capacity could and would increase -
The nearest residents to Wonderland are in Minchinbury and Im sure they won't complain not hearing the demon training hooking onto the lift or those operators yelling MUHAHAHA! on the top of Probe's PA system (hint hint). That would make a happy neighbour, wouldn't it?

Not when you Rollercoaster buffs take your cameras on the ride. Wouldn't want one of those things knocking me out! What is being misunderstood about this whole MiniWonderland issue is that ING is a business. A business that wants to please its shareholders by maximising profits. Wonderland faced many hurdles which eventually saw its closure. Even though many of you will dismiss them as 'excuses', things like SARS and Asian Economic Crisis saw a major downturn in park numbers. Would it be financially feasible to ressurect a theme park concept? No way. Bottom line, the Beach would only be financially feasible in summer. The park would only be opened on weekends. Reduced capacity. Less jobs. The MiniWonderland concept is very good. However, financially it would never work. Does this sound appealing to ING? Certainly not. Would a large factory with hundreds of employees, gaining maximum exposure from Australia's busiest interchange work? Of course! Out west, we have more to benifet from having an Industrial Park than Wonderland - our children will have better employment opportunities through this development. Melbourne is of a similar scale to Sydney and survives without a major theme park. So I'm sure we will survive without one. I know my statements are a little outspoken, and I'll get defensive replies, but seriously guys, Wonderland is dead and buried. It's time to move on.

Dreamworld, the inefficient park?

The Operations Department generally works around the design of new attractions, finding the best possible way to cater for guests. I think I didn't clarify that correctly. -
People, I think we all need to let go!! It should be a reprieve that we dont have to listen to that music again. Thats why Saturday nights were a treat! - Normal music No that Stand Up song was played throughout the park. I remember bopping to it whilst walking around the lake area.

Following the construction of a new ride, for example DW's Cyclone, the Operations Department has to devise a number of procedures for its staff to follow. Pretty much the Department has to work around the design of the ride, and in the case of Cyclone - poor capacity is achieved because of the placement of the Queue house. Its pretty much, here's a new ride... you sort it out. It is unfair to suggest its the Operations Department's fault for poor capacity. A question, at DW who decides whether a ride will be operational for the day (ie. who decides if GD will use two cabins, or the one?) - The Operations Supervisors or Managers??? The latter should solve the issue. -

I am very familiar with the Demon and have not encountered such 'overshooting' in wet weather. And this can not depend on the operator as they have no authority to operate the brakes manually. -
I've got a couple of tracks used in the past (the music used in 2000 and 2004) and believe me you wouldn't dare throw the cd's into your player!!

You're a bit nosey aren't you Schwarz freak!!? But if I remember right PWC is an abbreviation for Price Waterhouse Coopers.
