Doomsday Destroyer - 2016 Movie World construction

I agree, I think the most logical place for a large coaster would be out front. Especially if it was a hyper with a narrow footprint i.e. the out and back track are almost side by side. I notice some pipes on site in the latest photos, can we start some outlandish speculation about what they are - on your marks... -

^^I went on Friday after work. They might doing some restoration as well. The tumble bug entry has been re-routed via the Dodgem Cars entrance. Did a couple of laps of Mystery Manor, as always I was impressed and they were fogging it up, which I haven't seen in there before on previous visits. Important note for visitors, Mystery Manor is not open the entire time the park is open on some days. For example on Friday, it was open 12-3pm and then from 6pm to 10pm. Hair Raiser doesn't smash you at the bottom like it used to. I noticed this last time I was there, and thought it might have been an anomaly, but it does seem smoother. -

Press release while sleepwalking: Warner Bros Movie World in a world's first, a coaster constructed entirely of Lego. In all seriousness, a Lego theme would be good for an interactive attraction. I wonder if the driving school is just populating the old Looney Tunes site until they do something serious there - maybe a Lego themed boat ride might work. Not sure who the IP sits with there. I'm still thinking an Intamin Spinning Star first up and then a coaster, which will be a thrill ride, but maybe not as big or good as we are hoping for. -

Hote Wheels has such a mediocre layout, it's gone from boring with a headache, to boring with less of a beating. I did read somewhere that when the State Govt in NSW re-opened Luna Park, they considered a coaster that was twice as big. That would have been awesome, you could reach out and steal a snag off one of the neighbours barbies. Frankly I find the museum a puzzling addition, I think Dreamworld should be seeing less of their crack dealer. -
What do you think is the best dark ride in Australia?

I was kind of taking the piss, it's not too bad. Dracula's is fun. -

"That thing will jerk you around more than an epileptic prostitute" I hope she didn't hurt you dude. I'm really non-plussed by the exhibit and the Hot Wheels re-invention of the Arrow coaster, like icing on a dog turd really. -

^Maybe they prefer Mick Doohan LOL. The only reason we went in there was because it was pouring. -

^Yep that would work. Keep in mind Van Helsing is very low to the ground though a bit big at 8 metres, though the rest of the coaster is much lower. I still find it a surprising addition to an amusement park, but who know people my like it. -

^I can't remember how high the ceiling was it seemed much higher where the cars were, but I wasn't paying that much attention. My bad. I'd be interested to know what the guest feedback has been like. -

It looks like Knotts is doing some good stuff with their Ghost Town refurb like adding interactive stuff in buildings and the like, maybe they should follow their lead. -

I think Scooby is the best in the world for the type of coaster it is. It really stands up well on the world stage. Hopefully the patch of dirt is progressing well, it looks as nice as the pitches at Indian cricket grounds. I'm thinking the coaster might not go there, but time will tell. Press release received while sleep walking: RMC and Intamin have merged - Top Thrill Churro Wagon will be their first coaster together, dropping at movie world, first launched inverted wood coaster with aqua trax and fire effects - with plenty of airtime hills to top coaster enthusiast polls (except Amusement today, they award based on advertising revenue). -

Agree the air conditioning is cool (pun intended). The Car Exhibit moderately interesting, the dunnies were amusingly well themed. I don't see the car exhibit as a long term attraction - though does Dreamworld's demographic have a large contingent of people who like that kind of thing? Looks like a great space to have a dark ride. Or even better, do a coaster like Van Helsing at Movie Park Germany. -

^I've seen the POV before - legend has it that it was supposed to be most traumatic kids ride ever. The video bit is blocked at work for me. Another press release while I was sleep walking: Junior Driving School will be re-themed to Mad Max. -

While I was sleepwalking I got a press release that VRTP were going to build the greatest coaster in the world, but due to budget constraints they could only build a tribute to what would have been greatest coaster in the world. You gotta believe me. Gremlins sounds like it was a hell of a ride, shame I never visited when that was around. I'm dying to know what will happen, churro cart guy is only giving me tidbits. I guess we'll have to keep watching the dirt patch. -

^Thanks for posting something relevant to the topic, and I must say it's a rather spiffy arrangement of dirt LOL. And remember kids: don't post while sleepwalking. -

We've got the Lemon Chill Stand Guy, the Churro Cart Guy and now Sleepwalker Screamscape guy. On less relevant matters, has anything significant happened at the construction (or more currently, destruction) site? -

It will be called SuperFatMan, which is what happens after eating too many churros for too long. You go in the Fatman's mouth up the lift hill, and you can imagine where you come out. -

Fury Road was shot in Tanzania, though it was originally planned to be shot in Broken Hill, but it rained and everything went green. Honestly, Mad Max would be a kick ass theme for just about anything, even a churro cart, well especially a churro cart. And have that flame shooting guitarist somewhere, even Knotts put that guy in their Hanging show at Halloween complete with flames. -

Lemon Chill guy says no coaster in the area being worked on now, but there will be an Intamin ride there. Looking at their catalogue they have a Spinning Star ride (i.e. star flyer) that they spec as up to 122 metres. Like I said that's just the Lemon Chill guy talking - he probably knows about as much as churro cart Nostradamus. If we take RCDB as gospel, the coaster is steel, sit down, and extreme. Given what they classify as extreme there it's quite broad, Abyss is classed as extreme. -

Yeah Menzies was flying the RMC and Intamin guys around, "ok guys, I'll have one yours here, and one of yours there, and...ah screw throw one of each in the waterpark too". Now I'm thinking of the helicopter flying boss from Jurassic World. -

^They're not year round, though the rumour is that the old House of Horrors at Uni will be re-invented as a year round Walking Dead walk-through that will debut with Halloween Horror Nights. The entry will be where the exit for House of Horrors used to be. I've seen some good year round walk throughs, Liseberg and Gronalund spring to mind - though they are upcharges. House of Horrors at Universal was OK, though it was always very light on for Scare actors whenever I did it. Luna Park is very good, and Movieland studios in Italy is pretty good too. -

^I've been thinking that's a possibility for a while. I don't recall the "world's best" moniker being attached specifically to a coaster, happy to be corrected on that one. -
