Backwards Coasters
I'm not a big fan for the Revenge of the Mummies as a roller coaster. These types of rides are cool and fun but they are less about being a coaster.

Dreamworld reviewing its master plan.
Interview with one of the major investors who wants a position on the board. (Mr Seymour, who holds just under 4 per cent of Ardent, said he did not wish to be critical of Ardent’s response to the accident, a tragedy he said, “I would not wish on any company.” He said his criticism was more focused on the company’s failure to listen to investors like Ariadne who were experienced in building businesses. He said Ms Thomas’ sudden departure was “mystifying” as she was supposed to stay and help grow the Australian operations. Mr Seymour, who serves as Ariadne deputy chairman, said there had been significant underinvestment in Dreamworld in the past few years. “Dreamworld is an iconic Queensland business that creates jobs for Queenslanders,” Mr Seymour said. “But if you look at theme parks around the world like Disney, the owners constantly reinvest in the business) Now I don't know what to think of Mr Seymour push to get on the board. Do these two shareholders want to rebuild DW or are they in it to make a quick profit and run?

New resort near Dreamworld
Now Courier Mail is running a story. I have attached it because link does not work for most. THE Gold Coast could soon become Australia’s answer to Anaheim as developers forge ahead with plans for a sprawling precinct of hotels and resorts bordering the city’s theme parks. At Coomera, Dreamworld could be surrounded by a Disney-style neighbourhood after the Gold Coast Council yesterday gave the green light to a project including three towers of up to 15 storeys featuring tourist and short-term accommodation, as well as shops and restaurants. The proposal, from developer Gordon Corp, would sit on land opposite Dreamworld on Beattie Rd, while the theme park itself is also considering hotels and resorts on an unused part of the Dreamworld site which could turn the precinct into Australia’s answer to Anaheim, the metropolis surrounding Disneyland and California Adventure Park just outside Los Angeles in the US. It was given preliminary approval by Gold Coast City Council’s planning committee and is expected to be endorsed by the full council next Wednesday. Nearby Movie World has also proposed a nine-storey hotel, golf resort and lakeside precinct. Gold Coast City Council planning chairman, Councillor Cameron Caldwell, said the Gordon Corp proposal showed there was an appetite to move away from the decades-old model of families holidaying in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach and making day trips north to the coast’s theme parks, most of which are within a 5km radius between Coomera and Oxenford. “The model of everybody staying in Surfers Paradise and travelling out to the theme parks is changing,” he said. “This proposal would service the theme parks and the indoor sports centre down the road which has been constructed ahead of the Commonwealth Games. “It’s what goes on in other parts of the world such as Anaheim in the US. “Families could base themselves there for sports carnivals or theme park holidays instead of having to travel up each day from the traditional tourist precincts.” A Dreamworld spokesman said they welcomed new development in the rapidly changing Coomera precinct. “As a tourist destination and major employer in the region, Dreamworld welcomes local development and growth that complements our neighbourhood and meets local area planning requirements,” he said. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/theme-park-resortstyle-precinct-to-transform-northern-gold-coast/news-story/f18bed547beacc8ea8d52957b6b602dd

@themeparkaddictIf you can get Parkz members to decided which one of us gets paid to travel the world to gather ideas for this theme park, I will support you. (wink wink, nudge nudge, say Skeeta).

New resort near Dreamworld
@AlexB They’re aiming for the homeless 2022 Commonwealth Games. I believe the pools location will be conditioned to be relocated on site because the Queensland Main Roads have marked that corner for future road widening works.

New resort near Dreamworld
This resort has been given preliminary approval by Gold Coast City Council’s planning committee and is expected to be endorsed by the full council next Wednesday. No need for Ardent to employ a town planner now. Ardent if you read this than this is what you can do on your land.

The Wolves are making there move. Why DR Gary Weiss & Mr Kevin Seymour want to be on the board is the big question. (Ariadne Australia Ltd and its associates (“Ariadne”) advise that they have given notice to Ardent Leisure Group (ASX: AAD) of their intention to call and arrange to hold a general meeting of the members of Ardent Leisure Limited pursuant to section 249F of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) in order to move resolutions relating to the removal of directors and the appointment of additional directors). If you want to read Ardent's update on the matter head over to the ASX release. Or some of the papers a running a story on it. http://www.smh.com.au/business/property/ariadne-calls-ardent-board-concerns-utter-nonsense-20170614-gwr5y3.html

Now when we don't get a Downtown Disney they can blame Deborah Thomas. From the outside, it looks like Dr Gary Weiss and Mr Kevin Seymour got there meeting. Deborah Thomas Transition Arrangements On 26 April 2017, Ardent announced transitional arrangements relating to Deborah Thomas, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Those arrangements have been superseded by new arrangements subsequently agreed by Ms Thomas and the Board, as follows: • Ms Thomas will step down from the Board and her position as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director and cease employment with effect from 1 July 2017; • In accordance with her existing employment agreement, Ms Thomas will be paid a termination benefit of $731,291 (equal to 12 months average base remuneration); • Entitlements under the Group’s Deferred Short Term Incentive Plan which have not vested by 1 July 2017 will be forfeited; • Ms Thomas will retain the right to previously granted but unvested entitlements under the Group’s Long Term Incentive (LTI) plan which remain subject to performance criteria. Vesting of those entitlements will remain subject to Ardent achieving TSR and EPS growth targets as specified in the LTI plan. Unvested LTI entitlements that are subject to tenure will be forfeited; • Ms Thomas and Ardent have entered into a transitional consultancy arrangement, whereby Ms Thomas will provide ongoing support to the CEO, senior management and Board of Ardent in respect of the pending Coronial Inquiry into the Dreamworld tragedy; • Ms Thomas will be paid a consultancy fee of $3,000 per day, for each day reasonably expended in relation to the Coronial Inquest. The Board has determined this arrangement is appropriate based on external professional advice and market benchmarking; and • The consultancy agreement can be terminated by either party with one month’s notice following the conclusion of the Coronial Inquiry.

@djrappa You’re a tosser. Don’t forget to add it’s a "cheap-ass" way of doing it gimmick that affects 2 people per cycle capacity.

Tiger Island Refurbishment - Dreamworld 2016
The colour of the walls is overbearing. DW would’ve got away with it if instead of going Cottage Green they went a Classic Cream or Surfmist colour. Even with the roof open the dark walls create a dungeon vibe.

Backwards row - DC Rivals HyperCoaster
@Gazza if MW are not competing with any other Hypercoaster in Australia why does MW think it is worthwhile to gimmick up Australia’s first Hypercoaster by turning 2 seats around and reduce the capacity of the ride? Does MW really think that people are going to say “Oh. I didn't want to ride a Hyper before but now I do because I can go backward”

@AlexB Here's my plot for your 2-train option. You get no choice on what train you ride. As the backward train pulls into the station you hear the Joker laughing and him saying something about Batman’s trains being for weaklings now try this.
