  1. Yes, I came across the article hours ago and wasn't going to post anything.
  2. Gold Coast Weather & News Together had an article on it but now I can't find it. Post on Facebook "We Went to the show yesterday, My friends went on the nitro ride, very dodgy, the ride malfunctioned and they were hurt. This was the third lot of train carriages that became stuck due on the tracks before the end point where you get off, however all 3 of the train carriages got crashed into by another set of carriages, causing people to hit faces on the bars that you hold onto 2 males were spitting blood out of there mouths., neck pain and one girl was bleeding on her knees and elbow and both of my friends are still in pain with sore necks. The worst part is was that even though the first train got stuck and smashed into, they still didn't stop the ride and allowed it to happen 2 more times. Eventually all the staff had to push the trains to the end point. They were given a free ride ticket. We all had to leave because my friends were in too much pain. We don't even know who to contact. We rang the show, and nobody knows anything, treating us like were dumb, then we have also rang the company chants we looked up there website and they keep hanging up. Something needs to be done, and this roller coaster is DANGEROUS! It should be shut down." Reply by the show "The RAS of NSW is aware of an incident that occurred yesterday on the Nitro Coaster ride. It was investigated and the matter was rectified after an engineer inspected and signed off on the ride. Any persons that required assistance were attended to by medical staff at the time. Some of the issues you have mentioned in your post are new information. However we have spoken with people that were involved in the incident and they have differing accounts to the ones you have raised. Please contact our Public Relations Manager tomorrow on 02 9704 1111 to give your details. Kindest regards, Easter Show team"
  3. @AlexB I thought we had an agreement we would hide the trail and blame @pushbutton for everything. Sometimes when I talk to you it’s like I’m talking to 2 different people.
  4. Can somebody please point out the spine change in this photo? I feel like I'm missing something here. When I first pictured what this twist was doing I thought something like below but when I place them side by side it is nothing alike.
  5. Excellent @themagician The very first support being assembled has now been captured.
  6. Have we come up with an answer on what the theme will be?
  7. By it's short length I would say it leads into or out of a high gforce section but that would just be a guess.
  8. That half track is going to add to my track count.
  9. @AlexB I thought you already knew the theme. Don't worry, I've made my point enough times and I'm starting to get sick of my own voice.
  10. I'm not at any level of pedantry. If anything, I'm less then you because I willing to round it out further. (But if we're getting at that level of pedantry then it's 60.96m not 60.96mm)
  11. I don't really want to ask after @AlexB last answer. If a Giga is about drops what is a strata coaster about?
  12. I agree with on that one @Santa07
  13. As you can see for yourself 80% of dodgy people don't accept it. If you go by your idea “if most places around the world accept it” you should be driving on the right side of the road. You can tell the police it's ok because most countries in the world drive this way. As I have said before the name of Hypercoaster is only used to put an image into your head. If you don’t get that same image if it’s 60m and not 61 metres I’m not going to try and change what you see. If you had a coaster that was 61m in the air with only 4 right turns and never went over 5km/hr would you call it a Hypercoaster? By the definition of a Hypercoaster the answer would be yes. Do you believe that is what most people picture in their mind when they hear the word Hypercoaster?
  14. The other 20% are like a theme park that like to round all transactions up. Why not call it 60.96m instead of 61m? Why if you are anywhere else in the world you have to go 4mm higher to be classed as a hyper?
  15. That is everything I was saying but you said it so much better. 8 random positive reputations for you.
  16. I don't believe I had a "you can sit on the fence option"@ash.1111 Who came up with Hyper, Giga & Strata?
  17. Next time I do a poll I'm selecting "see who votes for what". That way I can pick on who ever don't agree with me. In all honestly if you say "no" it would be good to find out why.
  18. Hypercoaster 200ft-foot-barrierh (61m) really 60.96m Giga coasters 300-foot-barrier (91 m) really 91.44m Strata coasters 400-foot-barrier (120 m) really 121.92m What I don't understand is everywhere I look it says a Strata coaster is 120m. If I double the feet I would think you would double the metre. Why all of a sudden when you reach 400ft it's ok to round down 1.92m.
  19. Where do you think you measure from?
  20. With vertical construction nearing a start, a question needs to be answered. If the maximum height of the new coaster at Movie World reaches only 196.8ft is it a Hypercoaster. My thoughts: The whole idea of a Hypercoaster is not a metric thing. The 200ft height is a number that was dreamt up. If somebody in Australia came up with the idea of a Hypercoaster the height wouldn't have been set to 200ft, it would have been set to 60m. (Would you call that 196.8ft or would you just round it off to 200ft) The problem of converting imperial to metric measurements is feet it will never give you a nice number which is what 200ft is. If they wanted it at 61 metres it would have been 200.1288ft which it is not. Therefore, RCDB has given it a height of 196.8ft not because it’s not a Hypercoaster but because it gives you a nice clean number of 60 metres.
  21. @AlexB This shows it better. I think they cover the hatch with synthetic grass.
  22. I found this in the MackMag last night so I just divided 1370m by 10m.
  23. I believe a total of 137 pieces of track will be delivered for the track plus whatever is required to get to the maintenance bay. I can’t work out the number of supports.
  24. I like this one he added @themagician It's all the craze now. They call it finger framing.
