  1. Maybe. I have been told the coaster arrived weeks ago, but couldn't be delivered due to a problem with getting the coaster into the area without damaging something. I don’t know if this is true or just a bit of Chinese whispers. When I saw, them cutting kerb it made me think they might be creating an entrance or exit for the trucks to get around whatever the problem is. In saying that there might not even be a problem.
  2. @Theme Park Girl Is the concrete cutting directly across from the temp fence photo? Don't worry I can see it in the 3rd photo. Thanks for the pictures.
  3. The dictionary describes the word “Bully” as a person who is habitually cruel to others. It also says a bully is a tormenter who has a imbalance of power and uses this behavior towards others on a CONSTANT basis. It is becoming increasingly alarming at how many people use the word “Bully” in the wrong context. It’s gotten to the point that if people don’t like what you say, they don’t like your opinion, or they just can’t get what they want from you, they will call you a “Bully.” Because bullying is such a hot issue, everyone is using the term “Bully” in one way or another – yet completely OUT of context. Normal social interaction, being told something you don’t want to hear, being ribbed by your friends on one occasion, being treated cruelly one time -- is not bullying. Kids who are repeatedly harassed and taunted and attacked are absolutely being bullied and need to be protected by their parents and the school system. However, children who happen to find themselves on the receiving end of a snarky remark or a disrespectful comment, have to learn the power to stand up for themselves. Much of this is just plain old DRAMA! Some of it is not. But we'll never know what real bullying is, if people continue to abuse the word. Bullying is clearly as described above and is done on a constant basis. When we use the word “Bully” in the wrong context we are sending a message to those around us that everyone is being bullied and we are telling people we are victims. We have become desensitised to the word and as a country we are overusing it. This can be harmful to kids who are truly being bullied on a regular basis. We are creating a world of victims! We cannot become victims by one time events – or because we didn’t hear what we wanted to hear from the person we were speaking to. Let’s use the word “Bully” in a real and responsible way. Bullying is difficult enough when it happens for real. Let’s not create a country of victims because our society overuses a word.
  4. That takes the heat off me for a while. In saying that, They did grow the trees in front of DW to reduce car accidents on the M1.
  5. I think the union is more interested in this than the employees. An article was run in the fake news Gold Coast bulletin on Friday. It went on to say that the union had a closed Facebook page on the issue for staff. Apparently, this closed group had over 1000 members and the article led me to believe it was going to be a huge protest. Long rambling short I did a drive-by on the way to Bunnings, Saturday morning around 9:30am. The snippet shown here is the most people that were at the protest. When I drove past there was no more than 15 people at the front. When I did the return drive-by at 10:30am the group had reduced to 6. I don’t know how long the protest lasted for and don’t know how many people came and went. Having a sign waved in your face as you enter saying you are pretty much supporting a sweat factory for going in is intimidating and borderline thuggery. At the end of the day I don’t know what the union wanted to achieve. Whenever I hear this unions name now alarm bells go off in my head. I don’t understand why they started kicking DW when they were down. If DW was unsafe for the union members, why would the union not stop the workers from working? If village are not paying the staff, the correct wages why not stop the staff from working?
  6. @MaxxTheMonster Might be a good time to check your ships travel plans. Just in case it's already here.
  7. LOL, you should see how much backroom talk is going on now @thunder001 on which day it will be delivered. Not saying you don't know it's just a bit comical on how many dates I have been told by different people. I've even been told by some people they have photos of it at the docks right now. When you push for a photo they never deliver. I don’t know why they tell me in the first place if they aren’t going to give me some honey. I think it’s going to be a little sad when it’s completed because we won’t know what to talk about.
  8. No clue unless the colour was selected back in 2008. That's the first clear google picture I have. Why would it not have been planed to be moved over a year ago when the plans were produced?
  9. If you close it in it becomes a plant room, that's a whole lot of ugleness.
  10. It's also peculiar because if it remains it will be an eyesore.
  11. One thing we are running low on is updates on the conduit. I have not found on any plans that the electrical distribution box will be relocated to a different location. Not to say it won’t but for now it remains directly under the lift hill.
  12. We might need a whole topic on unions within Aussie theme parks. (Ben Swan, the state secretary of the Australian Workers’ Union, which had been raising ride operation issues with Dreamworld for more than a year before the October tragedy, said the system of self-regulation was not good enough. Mr Swan said it was worrying that there had been two evacuations at Movie World after clearance had been given following safety inspections of all amusement rides late last year. “The view of my union is the state government needs to start giving very serious consideration for a specialist unit that is appropriately resourced to actively monitor and inspect safety standards in what is one of Queensland’s most important industries,’’ he said.)
  13. The AWU already showed its poor form during the DW incident. I’m more interested to find out what time the bbq will fire up and when the sausages will start to flow. I can’t really comment on MW wages because I don’t know anything about them.
  14. @djrappa What's political about a union asking for higher wages for it's members?
  15. I know I said I wouldn't but I couldn't help myself.
  16. Once the tender is won by a company the files are locked. The track plans were locked last year and unless you saved a copy of the plans before they got locked you can't get access to them now.
  17. I knew you had it. The notes I added are for people who don't know the site. I was even going to google overlay it but I can't be bothered. I hope they are adding some shade over the entry ramp.
  18. LOL. The train travels from the left and comes out the right between the exit and entry ramps.
  19. @JaggedJanine The far ramp has a roof and is the exit ramp. The ramp closest is the entry ramp and only has a roof half of the way. Going by that drawing you will be standing out in the sun while you wait. On the other hand it will be shady when you get off.
  20. I'm thinking GL level also. A part of me wants more but I don't think we can really complain.
  21. That would take the fun out of trying to work it out. To answer your question if you were asking. I don't know what it is. If I was a guessing man I would say by looking at the station, very minimal.
  22. Since the station has now been shown, I will add the elevations. What the elevations don't show is a roof over the path. Track into and out of station.
  23. @djrappa If it is safe for a disabled person to enter an area you are required to provide access to it. The 4th line I don't think it would be a fire exit. Could it be a line to ride at the front of the train?
  24. Every line within the entry and exit have disable access. Red: Tactile ground surface indicators. Blue: Landings + ramp max 1:14. Green: Handrails extend past ramp. All this indicates disable access. Yes I screwed up 1 red/blue arrow.
  25. The submissions date has come and gone and nobody made any submissions about re-zoning the site. We have now moved onto wait for council to make a decision stage.
