Interesting story on the Gold Coast Bulletin site today when Disneyland was almost secured to be built on the Gold Coast. I will paste it on here when I get to my computer. What I found interesting was the numbers that they had projected to go through the doors. Plans were drawn up for it and the person behind it still wants it to go ahead one day. Gives me hope that one day it could happen but with Disneyland a lot closer now I just don't know.

Dreamworlds’ theming has never been great so I wouldn’t care if they called it a “Big Dick” I would still have a ride. I’m more worried about DW turning this train around and trying to pass it off as a racing car. If you really want to ride some great coasters you need to travel. I remember after my first ride on the Silver Bullet was, “what was all the hype about.” We already have some pretty good rides in Australia. Some are fun. “Jet Rescue” Some raise your heart level. GL falling off the tracks. If you want to ride the best coasters then you have to save up some money and do some traveling.

That's sad news about DW going bust this year.

The latest Ecological report for the Broadwater disagrees with you. A number of shorebirds of conservation significance were recorded during the surveys in the project area. These migratory species are protected under international agreements (i.e. Bonn, CAMBA, GAMBA, JAMBA, and ROKAMBA) and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 additionally, three (3) of these shorebird species – Numinous madagascariensis (eastern curlew), Sternula albifrons (little tern) and Esacus magnirostris (beach stone-curlew) are identified as significant under Stateand Commonwealth legislation. These species were all recorded on or within the vicinity of Wavebreak Island. This area is consequently identified as highly significant for shorebird conservation. I agree it’s a better location.

If you look up titles for SeaWorlds land it says SeaWorld leases it land off the state government. I also think it would be hard to get the parking in with the height limits but in saying that the state government do have the power to override the height limits.

Maybe they will come to some deal. I wonder if they would extend the monorail into the casino.

With the Queensland government wanting the next casino to be built next door to SeaWorld. what do people think SeaWorld will do during the high season?

On Wednesday night while I was driving past th GL had lights on everywhere. From what I could see from the road 3 people where working on the lift hill.

The first time I rode it I ended up on this side. I couldn't work out why when I was in the line people were saying I could go ahead of them. GD had one for line for both gondolas so you weren’t meant to have a choice of which ride experience you had. I would say that the east side gave you more of a get me off here experience then the west side for the first time rider because I think the first drop built the intensity up in your mind. I agree with you here, I think DW has had lots of opportunities to spread the rides around but for most of the time keep packing them into one area. DW only have themselves to blame with the falling riders on the vintage cars. Why would you put a ride in the middle of nowhere and expect people to go yea I might go for a half an hour walk to ride this and be attacked by misquotes. DW have put in many rides since the VC was moved and have given no thought to getting more traffic to this area. When I’m at a park and I see a ride with a short line on busy day I will normally ride it. But how would I ever know that no one is riding the vintage cars if I’m too lazy to go and have a look. My thoughts are if make people move around more then you are going to reduce time people are stuck in a line. But you have to make it worth the trip with more than just one ride. So to get back on topic I would make the quite areas of the parks more attractive to visit.

Yep there was a small section of magnetic brakes at the top but I don't think it was to long before they removed them.

I know what your saying but both sides ran different when it opened. The eastern side would drop then catch you and drop you again.
