One thing that I thought was downright pathetic was the Gotham City drinks station being closed in the middle of the day. Want to buy a burger meal with a soft drink, that's all well and good to buy it. But oh wait, you need to go across the road to the bar to fill up your drink cup...Unless it's after 2pm, then you have to go to one of 2 food outlets still open (bakery and newsstand, and wait 20 minutes to be served). Good job guys...

Never stated where this Super Show will be held...
-
From what I have heard, Space Roller won't be in QLD for a "Super Show". Last i've heard it is heading to Adelaide before the show there.
-
Heard the same thing from multiple operators, appears the Woodchop arena is taking up a significant area of sideshow alley (near bowen bridge road / RBH). Talk about a lacklustre show...
-
Yep, looks like about 1/2 of sideshow alley has now been taken up by the woodchop pavilion. Great move RNA, one step closer to killing off the EKKA. It's sad when a regional show like Cairns has a better sideshow lineup than what is meant to be the major show for the whole state. No wonder so many ride operators over the years have bailed, including one of Australia's major operators (Bells) who haven't been back to the RNA since I think 2009. May as well knock the whole RNA showgrounds down and put more apartments in and have the show elsewhere if they are going to keep going the way they do.

Very clearly stated in the terms and conditions that it includes the sipper with free refills... You got ripped off sadly. It's okay, they tried to tell me that when I renewed my pass to a one pass that by choosing the monthly payment option I wasn't entitled to the renewal perks... Ended up speaking to guest services at Movie World, the lady was incredibly polite and checked up on it and promptly fixed it up for me too.
-
I really hope that's not the full ride list, It's missing major rides like Space Roller, XXXL and a few others... I'll be very disappointed if that is the finalised lineup. By far the worst ride list for a capital show.
-
See, I was under the impression that they only had one full set as the second one was used alongside the first one to make one complete train. However I could be wrong, I think it was aptly called the "purple" train back in the Lethal Weapon days.
-
I will admit, I did enjoy some of the perks (15% off instead of the 10% was nice, especially having a few sneaky drinks up at Skypoint, as well as the unlimited soft drink deals) but I guess their time has come now for these passes to be discontinued. Not sure if i'm going to bother switching over to a season pass or not...

Not sure if it's anything to note, but behind Scooby and near the helix on arkham there is a complete second set of wheel bogies for Arkham just sitting there on a rack. Fairly sure it is nothing, but you never know. Also to note, Movie World was insane yesterday, the carpark wasn't even full but every ride had massive queues. West had a full queue house (nearly opened up the outdoor queue), Scooby had a full line as well. Rivals was 3/4 full (running 2 trains thank god). Batwing had a full queue, superman had a 90 minute wait (one train running, for whatever reason I'll never know). Arkham had a 60 min wait with Doomsday full loading all day as well. Great to see the Village Parks doing so well, but still only having Gotham, Main St Deli and Dirty Harry open IMO is pretty poor when the park is clearly needing extra capacity for food with the lines for all 3 spilling out onto main street at 3pm.
-
Funny hearing about all these crowds, I went the first night to afterglow and at times they were struggling to fill the train on Superman and Rivals. The line never got to more than a 2 - 3 train wait the whole night.

Hate to break it to you, but 90% of the attractions staff are Permanent Part Time. They are trained on multiple rides, which is why you see them working different rides on different days. Your post is completely false information.

Last minute changes to maintenance schedules (MW)?

Green Lantern is closed for unexpected maintenance but Superman has reopened early. -
Those were the good days...I will admit when I was there first in 2007 and when I went back in 2011 there was a massive difference in staff morale and overall management. Here's hoping things change for the better in the future.
-
The wages were like that before the cheap passes came into effect really...
-
Not sure what you mean by the good pay rates... the staff are on just above minimum wage there... At least they were when I was there, don't think it's changed too much.
-
Also, heads up the SD store was closed today when I went to the park. 3pm DC Rivals wasn't even loading a full train of guests, it was that quiet.

Movie world - Rainy day a good or bad idea?
Spotty replied to Hopsauce's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Superman used to shut down even with the slightest amount of rain back until the mid 2000's. I know when I was working there (2011 - 2013) the entry host would keep an eye on the rain and if it got too heavy they would call the supervisor and they would make a decision weather to cease operations or not. They have become quite a bit more relaxed with running in the rain, I do know Arkham stops running VR in the rain for obvious reasons. As far as lightning goes I think it's within 5km of the park, if there is a lightning strike they stop operating all outdoor rides (the exact distance could be wrong, I am just going off memory) and certain rides have different wind tolerances. -
Recommended rides (if any) for overweight people at Dreamworld
Spotty replied to TJM26's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The Claw and the Giant Drop can be pretty restrictive too, mostly due to the seatbelts. I am not exactly "large" but having broad shoulders and thick thighs can make things pretty hard on those two rides in particular... -

An additional staff member is required for 2 train operation as both loaders must be at their control panels at all times while trains are moving in the station. Also for evac procedures they require 2 staff per train. Hence you will always see with Superman they have a sorter when running 2 trains. -
Sling Shot Gold Coast moving to the Glitter Strip

1998 apparently was when it opened. That sounds about right honestly. -
The above post I made (unable to edit it) is now incorrect. They are offering 50% off season / annual passes to anyone who came in with a friend for free. Glad my partner got his for $35 when we did! We were actually about to buy his online anyway when I saw the deal!
-
It's $25 to upgrade to a Season Pass (Until 24th Dec 18') or $35 for an Annual Pass. You can bring one guest in per day per season pass / membership up until the 30th of April. Took a friend today, and taking one tomorrow who normally wouldn't have brought a pass right now but at those prices it was worth it.

The Vomatron opened in 2003, not sure about the Slingshot however I am fairly sure it was built before the Vomatrona. When the slingshot first opened I know it used the ball style seat (found on the travelling variant) but it was later changed to the seats that we see now.
