Ah yes... I can totally agree with your comments about the Male Supervisor (I'll call him JM) haha. Cranky, but also a great bloke. I will admit I have some fond memories of my time there, and some not so fond ones haha. Overall it wasn't bad, but around the time that I left things were really starting to go downhill slowly. Glad I left, but glad I had the experience

As far as I know it was sold by Intamin but built by ABC Engineering. They have built several other flat rides including the Toubillion Model that is also known for having major issues (Cyborg Spin at Six Flags for example)

The Funtime models for the most part have been proven to be very reliable, Sea World cheaped out and brought a lemon much like they did with Doomsday.
-
The only place that they could really expand (and I'm not sure if they actually can for structural reasons) would be ontop of the carpark. But even then you could maybe fit 1 or 2 flat rides at the most. The only thing I can think of is maybe a repaint of the front half of the park and just giving a general refresh. Not really much could be done given the space they have. But any investment is good investment.

Snowy River Sam here, please keep moving all the way down. Remember 4 to a row, or the boat don't go!

Normally Superman was Feb - April and Batwing would be March - April depending on when the school holidays / easter long weekend were. If the easter long weekend was in March it would go down in February but if it was in April it would go down in March. Would make sense for Flash and Superman to go down at the same time though. If possible I'd try to have Batwing not at the same time anymore because 3 major rides at once is a bit sucky...

What ride should replace Doomsday Destroyer?

But they can do what they do best... run it at half capacity, maybe even 1/4 capacity! -
Maybe in 12 months it will hatch into a diamond? Or maybe a subtle dig at village that even they can make a turd look better than what is down the road.

I'm getting FotWW queue vibes... hopefully they will add more to it over time. I have more faith in Dreamworld doing this than Village Roadshow.

I can tell you right now... 3 of those they had no intention of reopening once they closed (Bermuda, Tunes and Pirate). Pirate was up for sale anyway, no idea why they got rid of it when it had no major issues. Bermuda and Tunes had structural issues that were going to be very expensive to repair and from the very early stages of the closure they knew it wasn't going to reopen sadly. I still remember operating Tunes on its last day of operation, the last operator to be in the lift room when it closed.

What ride should replace Doomsday Destroyer?

They have a decent amount of land behind Wild West Falls where they house the scare mazes for Fright Nights that they could use for expansion. The area behind Scooby Doo / WoZ is quite large as well and you could fit a few rides or a whole new area in there, especially if you utilise the Doomsday area and the old show stage building. Another coaster is NOT what the park needs right now. As multiple people have stated they need a few decent flat rides to help soak up the capacity as the park is struggling with that right now. -
I can pretty much guarantee that Batwing is not going anywhere and something has happened. The ride for the most part has been very reliable except for a few teething issues in its opening weeks and a cable snap in 2012 (This can happen on any ride). I'm not concerned in the slightest about the future of Batwing.

HUSS still makes the Enterprise https://www.hussrides.com/en/family-thrill-rides/enterprise-2g-2gh/ and other companies such as Zamperla make similar rides. -

The last thing I'd want to see right now is another coaster for Movie World, they have way too many compared to their current ride lineup. They need a decent collection of flat rides (3-4 at least) to round out the lineup and add some much needed capacity. I'd say 2 flat out thrill rides (Mondial Top Scan as an example of thrill level) and 2x family flat rides (Breakdance, Scrambler sort of level) My ideal flat ride package for the park would be: Screaming Swing - Family Thrill and would likely fit where DD is now. (32-40 rider capacity) Indoor highly themed Break Dance 5 (Could have been done as Kansas Twister to simulate being in a tornado but that's already done now!) - Family Thrill (40 rider capacity) Mondial Top Scan - Could fit nicely into the western area if themed well and hopefully runs a decent cycle - Extreme Thrill (30 rider capacity, 36 for the Ventura model) Zamperla Endeavour - High Thrill (24 or 48 capacity) A decent flat package like this really would bolster the parks offerings and could be spread out over 2-3 years or they could do all 4 at once to really one up the park. These 4 attractions would likely be the cost of one major coaster but would really help with capacity. After this sort of investment, I'd be seriously looking at a replacement for Justice League, Green Lantern, Superman or Wild West Falls as the next major project for the park as all of those rides would be getting close to their best before (West being 30, Superman 25, Green Lantern and Justice League 15 years) -
I don't know which triggers me the most... the SE loading spiel, hearing MXPX's cover of Scooby Doo for several hours at a time on a non stop loop in High Zone or this song. Honorable mention to the music in WBK during White Christmas (Alvin and the Chipmunks anyone?) or Hooray for Hollywood non stop. - This exact version funnily enough was the same one that Movie World used (without the big intro part though)

Dismantling started on doomsday destroyer

Vortex has water, but as far as I'm aware not fountains that are synchronised to the ride in any way. -

Exactly, the ride itself isn't bad. Just the cycle that it runs is total garbage. Just look at the cycle that Talocan runs. Obviously we can also be sad about the theming that this has, but just the cycle itself is much better. -

Honestly... given that VRTP have moved rides in the past. I actually think VORTEX would be suited more to movie world than sea world. I'd happily see them move it to MW and put a Screaming Swing in at Sea World. However this would only be a good idea if the ride actually ran a decent cycle (which can be done, no idea why Sea World runs it the way it does). Not sure how Village feels about S+S though, as Batwing actually had a fair few problems when it first opened as well. I'm hoping that they have fixed that relationship as I think a Free Spin could actually go well at Sea World as another thrill coaster to really round out the lineup (1x kiddie coaster, 2x family coasters, 2x major thrill coasters). It also doesn't take up much space which would really suit Sea World. a 2 for one deal maybe? -

I mean... true lol. Depending on the model they go with, 20 riders per side still isn't "terrible" but yeah -

I still think a Screamin' Swing would be a great replacement for the ride. Although some might say it's a bit too similar to King Claw I think it would be great. Capacity wise and visually they look great, and given they have 2 sides in quieter times they could get away with running one side if needed. -

That's basically them saying instead of spending the money doing a refurb they'd rather something new and more marketable. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, but I'm sure with a decent overhaul the ride still has plenty of life left in her. Remember Sea World said the same about the Pirate Ship before they got rid of it, and it's still running to this day. If it's for sale at the right price, for some parks it would actually be a great buy.
