Funny hearing about all these crowds, I went the first night to afterglow and at times they were struggling to fill the train on Superman and Rivals. The line never got to more than a 2 - 3 train wait the whole night.

Hate to break it to you, but 90% of the attractions staff are Permanent Part Time. They are trained on multiple rides, which is why you see them working different rides on different days. Your post is completely false information.

Green Lantern is closed for unexpected maintenance but Superman has reopened early.

Those were the good days...I will admit when I was there first in 2007 and when I went back in 2011 there was a massive difference in staff morale and overall management. Here's hoping things change for the better in the future.

Not sure what you mean by the good pay rates... the staff are on just above minimum wage there... At least they were when I was there, don't think it's changed too much.

Also, heads up the SD store was closed today when I went to the park. 3pm DC Rivals wasn't even loading a full train of guests, it was that quiet.

Superman used to shut down even with the slightest amount of rain back until the mid 2000's. I know when I was working there (2011 - 2013) the entry host would keep an eye on the rain and if it got too heavy they would call the supervisor and they would make a decision weather to cease operations or not. They have become quite a bit more relaxed with running in the rain, I do know Arkham stops running VR in the rain for obvious reasons. As far as lightning goes I think it's within 5km of the park, if there is a lightning strike they stop operating all outdoor rides (the exact distance could be wrong, I am just going off memory) and certain rides have different wind tolerances.

The Claw and the Giant Drop can be pretty restrictive too, mostly due to the seatbelts. I am not exactly "large" but having broad shoulders and thick thighs can make things pretty hard on those two rides in particular...

An additional staff member is required for 2 train operation as both loaders must be at their control panels at all times while trains are moving in the station. Also for evac procedures they require 2 staff per train. Hence you will always see with Superman they have a sorter when running 2 trains.

The above post I made (unable to edit it) is now incorrect. They are offering 50% off season / annual passes to anyone who came in with a friend for free. Glad my partner got his for $35 when we did! We were actually about to buy his online anyway when I saw the deal!

It's $25 to upgrade to a Season Pass (Until 24th Dec 18') or $35 for an Annual Pass. You can bring one guest in per day per season pass / membership up until the 30th of April. Took a friend today, and taking one tomorrow who normally wouldn't have brought a pass right now but at those prices it was worth it.

The Vomatron opened in 2003, not sure about the Slingshot however I am fairly sure it was built before the Vomatrona. When the slingshot first opened I know it used the ball style seat (found on the travelling variant) but it was later changed to the seats that we see now.

Taipan is owned by Shorts / Lauries amusements and currently travels around at the major shows. Next appearance will likely be the Royal Easter show.

Log ride has now also had it's opening date fully removed too...

That is certainly a new thing the Attraction re-admission pass. Previous procedure was never mention anything like it if there was an evacuation / malfunction but if someone complained to Guest Services they would normally be escorted through the exit of the ride once it's reopened. I think it's a great idea that they have done something like this, and will increase guest happiness if they get a sub par experience or are unloaded off a ride mid cycle. As an ex employee, seeing the way the new management seems to be running this is really great to see. From a few people I know, they have even been telling me how much better the working environment has become over the last few years so it's really great to see VRTP making all these good changes. It all starts with management, if you have good management that gives a crap about the staff then the staff will give a crap. Guests will be happier and the experience will improve. Here's to seeing what Greg Yong and Clark Kirby do with VRTP over the coming years!

Wild West Falls lap bar system isn't designed to actually restrain anyone, it's designed to prevent people standing up. As far as I am aware it's the only Hopkins Super Flume model to actually feature lap bars, I know the one at Dollywood and Six Flags Fiesta Texas doesn't feature them. Someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but I'm actually fairly sure the lap bars were not originally featured on WWF but added shortly after installation? You wouldn't fall out of Wild West Falls if you rode without the lap bar either, but I guess the park just wanted the additional safety just in case.

With 1 train running it's normally 2 staff + the supervisor in the control room. Load 1 on the far side of the platform and load 2 does the sorting as well whilst the ride is in operation. Sometimes they will have a entry host as well depending on the day. Rivals only seemed to run 2 trains for a few weeks before going down to single train operations (with lines of a hour mind you...) When it's running 2 trains I would say they would need to only bump up to 3 operators, two loaders and a sorter and I guess an entry host as well if they want.

Tail spin had 2 planes out of action yesterday (Wednesday) so that might explain why it was closed on Thursday for maintenance. Hope they get it fixed soon, buzzsaw was also operating on Wednesday too so no idea what is going on.

And I still have nightmares of that damn alarm!

Yeah no...1 booth in West at the top of lift 2. And 2 in Scooby. One just after the turntable on the first hairpin and one to the right of the lift. Not actually 100% if both booths in Scooby are manned anymore either. Some changes have been made, not going into too much more about who I am but people on these forums can very much vouch that I have been employed by both VRL and Ardent

Yeah... I am still traumatised by that lift!!! The amount of times I had nearly fallen asleep up there haha... until one day I got a VERY rude awakening to a big huntsman falling on my head! Considering I have a huge fear of spiders I didn't work west for several weeks after that haha
