  1. True that. Wasn't sure if it was in connection with that (I was told that only Xmas holidays have extended hours and the next set of holidays aren't for a few weeks anyways) or the rules were unpopular.
  2. Guys, I just checked on Movie World's website and the rides and attractions now on at 10am. Also, Planet SOS is being replaced with another film. Sorry if someone else mentioned it before me.
  3. As long as you can easily get in and out of the rides and fit into the seat with the lapbar/overhead restraint locked into position, then I'd imagine that it is not a problem. I have seen some large people riding so I really don't think it would be too much of a problem. Then again, it's hard to judge because I don't know how big you are... and figures can only give me a rough estimate. Best thing to do is ring the park.
  4. When I spoke to Noel Dempsey at the start of this year, he told me that he planned to turn that area of Ocean Parade into an events area where companies could hire it out and such. I guess these plans have finally flourished.
  5. Why would you boycott them? The park is LONG gone and it's not like they directly purchased the land from Wonderland which lead to its closure... Come on mate, I think you're over-reacting just a tad, don't you think?
  6. How does the ice cream shop look? Is it a dodgy job?
  7. I do NOT agree with the removal of the Motocoaster. It is still a good family roller coaster. That's just plain stupid. It still works fine and adds more rides for guests to choose from, which lessens the lines for other rides. I'd love to see DW's themed areas get a touch up and then a large roller coaster built. One that can handle 1,000+ people an hour.
  8. Don't forget the comment about how Superman has high-speed loops.
  9. I just hope they do a decent job of it. I really hate how Jet Rescue is themed and how BT has ended up. I hope all three rides receive a big theming makeover, however, I don't think they would do anything to Jet Rescue at this early stage.
  10. I once went to WWW for half the day during winter. Was quite good. Got on all of the rides in a very short space of time. The only line that had more than 10 people in it was the SuperTubes. However, it was very cold and you need to think about if you'd enjoy it or not. Would you rather stand in line nice and warm or walk around the park (out of a line) freezing.
  11. Went to Movie World again yesterday. All rides were fine except LW and Superman. LW was closed and Superman was running one train, with waits exceeding 90 minutes most of the day! At some points the line was 'nearly' to the end of the line -- with the spill out queues in front of the lockers being used. Scooby Doo's line was outside the building (using the spill out queues) however an extra ride op was being used to split up groups. It was a nice touch. Don't know what's up with Superman's second train...
  12. I went yesterday also, and I found the park to be quite busy. Superman was running one train, and waits exceeded 60 minutes throughout the day. Scooby Doo also had a wait of over 60 minutes, although not much can be done for that. With no surprise, Roadrunner was also running just one train, and lines were long, however not a major problem. Scooby Doo was working fine expect the last room, which didn't have a laser to hide the drop. However, I feel Main Street needs an overhaul of some of the buildings. The building behind the main screen and the ones above the photo shop are the worst. Finally, HWSD apparently only has two working cars which means the show isn't as 'action packed' as it was with four police cars. PS, here is an attached image of that 'smell machine' outside the ice cream shop. Isn't it tacky!
  13. Is it just me or do the two Gold Coast theme park operators love to be in line with each other? First it was the ticket prices and now this stupid policy. Let's not forget the theming standards.
  14. Of course I know that, for future purchases I am speaking about. I am trying to figure out why a company would post random pictures of roller coasters on their site. They're either completely random or they are the distributor for Australia.
  15. Wonderful! Whilst I know there are a lot of cutbacks happening within the company, I do believe that many parts of MW are getting the touch up ATM. I'll also be extremely happy if the River Ride did receive a touch up (if that was what you were speaking about). That ride would be great if it went under a refurbishment, or a touch up at the least. Next to get some attention: Lethal Weapon trains, Batman Adventure ride and then the next big attraction.
  16. Are these guys like Australian distributor of B&M?
  17. Part of the resort now. It costs $5 to use them if you are just a visitor to the park. Of course, it is now the first resort in Australia to feature its own paddle boats.
  18. Superman's theming was half-assed IMO. Just look at the outside and queuing area!
  19. I e-mailed guest services and they said the two other cars have something wrong with them.
  20. I have heard about a Sea World crash before. My dad's always speaking about it whenever we go to Sea World.
  21. What about Movie World? Is that why they are retaining the effects and even adding some new ones?
  22. Let them burn? I think the smartest thing to do is get them away from the danger (in this case, the helicopter full of fuel) and then put them on a stretcher... which is that they did. I am sure the security staff would have completed a health and safety course, so they'd know that already.
  23. I always thought it would be good to have the concrete background only display the buildings. The fake sky above the ramp looks REALLY fake when you see it up against the real sky.
  24. What's up with HWSD? In the last few videos of the attraction, I have only seen two police cars. Are they ditching the other two? And what's up with this planned 'phase two'? I don't think anything has changed since the ride opened, although the plan has been in with the council for a while... unless the changes have already been implemented? Although, an 'insider' on this forum told me that the second phase included ramps and whatnot.
  25. It seems only Movie World is the odd one out.
