Is it just me or do the two Gold Coast theme park operators love to be in line with each other? First it was the ticket prices and now this stupid policy. Let's not forget the theming standards.
-
Of course I know that, for future purchases I am speaking about. I am trying to figure out why a company would post random pictures of roller coasters on their site. They're either completely random or they are the distributor for Australia.
-
Wonderful! Whilst I know there are a lot of cutbacks happening within the company, I do believe that many parts of MW are getting the touch up ATM. I'll also be extremely happy if the River Ride did receive a touch up (if that was what you were speaking about). That ride would be great if it went under a refurbishment, or a touch up at the least. Next to get some attention: Lethal Weapon trains, Batman Adventure ride and then the next big attraction.

Are these guys like Australian distributor of B&M?
-
Part of the resort now. It costs $5 to use them if you are just a visitor to the park. Of course, it is now the first resort in Australia to feature its own paddle boats.

Superman's theming was half-assed IMO. Just look at the outside and queuing area!

I e-mailed guest services and they said the two other cars have something wrong with them.

helicopter crash Dreamworld car park

I have heard about a Sea World crash before. My dad's always speaking about it whenever we go to Sea World. -
What about Movie World? Is that why they are retaining the effects and even adding some new ones?

helicopter crash Dreamworld car park

Let them burn? I think the smartest thing to do is get them away from the danger (in this case, the helicopter full of fuel) and then put them on a stretcher... which is that they did. I am sure the security staff would have completed a health and safety course, so they'd know that already. -
I always thought it would be good to have the concrete background only display the buildings. The fake sky above the ramp looks REALLY fake when you see it up against the real sky.

What's up with HWSD? In the last few videos of the attraction, I have only seen two police cars. Are they ditching the other two? And what's up with this planned 'phase two'? I don't think anything has changed since the ride opened, although the plan has been in with the council for a while... unless the changes have already been implemented? Although, an 'insider' on this forum told me that the second phase included ramps and whatnot.

It seems only Movie World is the odd one out.

The rides were opening at 10:30am at one stage, correct? If so, the rides and attractions now open at 10am. Good news!

Thanks... What I was trying to say is that person A could have visited the park on Friday and reports that the ride is crap, while person B can say it's all fixed up on Saturday. I think there may be some of that going on, but of course, it's still the park's fault for not offering the same standards all week long. After all, the prices are the same. Re the fixing up of effects/theming and adding new bits, what more can you tell us?

Didn't I read somewhere that effects were being cutback on weekdays? Couldn't some of reports of no effects be associated with those cutbacks?
-
I went to Sea World not too long ago to ride Jet Rescue. The chain link fence was actually built across the train line. Looked quite odd.
-
Will one of the cars stay at MW? Because I know one is used in the Batman show.
-
Was the camp fire going?
-
Kain, you should go to Dracula's

If there was any changes in speed, it would be caused from the different weight of the second boat, not because they decided to turn the speed up a little.

Well, the outside building that's themed is only a very small portion. Most of it has been left a white warehouse. That's really the only bit that gets me caught up. In my opinion, I believe you can fault Superman Escape -- because in some areas, it has been let down. 10 years ago, parks went to all lengths to theme the areas leading up to their rides. (Lethal Weapon, Wild West, Dreamworld's western rides and, or course, BT) Now a-days, parks theme the inside of their rides, and even now that trend is starting to lack. I feel that Dreamworld's newest attraction though might be the beginning of a new direction for Dreamworld. Only time will tell of course.

^ Don't forget Superman Escape. I also think the entrance to HWSD is lame -- a few new signs and a paint job is pretty much all they did.

I didn't have a huge look. The fan didn't seem to stop, and the smell could be smelt from about 2 metres back. I really wish I got a picture now. And I also saw a switch for 'Main Street Spotlights' near it. I was really surprised they didn't hide that thing. Also I noticed that the noises from China Town (the cars/sirens) have been turned off.

Well the idea of it isn't so bad, but the way they've done it is not. I'll try and get a picture next time I go, to show you how bad (and cheaply) it sticks out. I know it's not a huge issue, but if this is the kind of things they keep doing, then the whole park is going to start looking very tacky. Although I am sure some would argue that this has happened for quite some time now.
