Apart from seeing some great replace both LTRR and BTAR2, which I hope we can at least see a really awesome simulator or shooting ride. I would love to see MW get another big budget WOW show in the Show Stage; a high class, world class rapid ride; and wooden roller coaster. I know its only for MW and DW but I want to include SW for a bit because I've heard it thrown up to get a ride similar in nature to Soarin' in the Show Stage re-done to the Gold Coast/Australia, however I think such a ride would be better fitted to a park like SW. Its more family orientated, it has a big focus on nature and the environment and for me it just feels like it would be so much better fitted for them. Would the 4D theatre be capable of fitting such a ride?? DW, I really want to see them continue to bring it back to the old charm it had, return it Australian themed and colours (No bright colours that hurt the eyes and fade quickly) and a really kick ass ride of some sort that really gets the public talking and isn't a one trick pony; whether it be family or thrill and is a people eater.

Thats was my assumption as well. I know I've said before but I'll say it again I would love to see a Screamin' Swing here and that spot could be a great location for such a ride. What I would love to see is now that MW has gotten some love and WnW has seen A LOT OF LOVE in recent years that SW could maybe get some now. I know they have a great new parade/show and the battle boats were great, but now I'm really looking at seeing something new for BT. I think it is such a pretty park, great seaside feel and great atmosphere. With a few more attractions I think it would be a great well rounded park, great day out and something for everyone and back to being a personal favourite of mine. A little off topic, I know they said Sesame Street was going to co-exist with Nickelodeon; however, someone asked on their Facebook page if SS was still there and they answered no. Can anyone tell me whats going on now with the whole SS and Nickelodeon thing now??

What is driving me mad at the moment is the amount of people on MW's Facebook page going on they can't believe the ride is going/being demolished and leaves no rides left. Or the other side good riddance to the ride and hoping something decent replaces it. I feel like screaming THE RIDE IS NOT GOING!!!!!!! Just a re-theme and new trains, it is driving me insane. Or batty if that turns out to be the re-theme EDIT: If they are going to completely redo China Town, the buildings and that area, can they go across into the Superman area and give that some love, maybe put in some building facades up in there to replicate Metropolis and make the area outside the sort of like a park?? And maybe a new paint job for the coaster??

Apparently it has just poured up there! I have friends who work at WnW and just saw they got the call to tell them they were closed and saw on FB MW and WnW will be too. I've seen someone say that the water has covered the WnW entrance and the middle car park is and the water is rising fast. Geez you guys must have had some rain. SW just announced they will be open, but to keep checking back for further updates!

See I always thought when they said MW, they didn't mean MW necessarily, just they would be using the Village Roadshow Studios. Surely they could hold the house, eviction and Friday Night Live if it was brought back. I always assumed MW was brought up because it was right next door and people just lumped it together! According to TV Tonight and Peter Ford it will be back at Dreamworld.

With ToT from the station up to the tower all those magnets are powered, how else do get moving from the station? Sometimes things stuff up, but the magnets behind or now in front of the station (on how you look at it) are not, same as on SE and GD so if you overshoot the station your going to hit them and these ones are very powerful; so its going to be a bit of a hard stop, but you will stop. There is nothing unsafe with it and it has been designed to foresee any possible problems and then take the steps to prevent them. If it wasn't safe it wouldn't be running. As for me, every now and then I've seen rides break down and stop, but never been on them. Closest I got was a bird on the ToT tracks and we had to go back into the waiting area until it had flown away before we were allowed to board.

Depends, if it was just going to be turned into scrap metal, probably not that long, it no longer has a use and it doesn't matter if pieces break. If its being moved, its going to take longer, because they'll need to take more care since its going to be operational soon. Even then, I wouldn't say years. After all SF are moving Deja Vu to one of their other American parks and its not taking them years.

^ I always thought what our parks have done with their budgets has always been very clever. However, I don't believe as rides get older any theme elements that break or need replacing should just be left so you can just focus on the new rides. It leaves the place looking very tired. DW was an example of allowing older rides to do this and wasn't welcomed for this. I remember there was a time when Scooby had seen brighter days and at some point the park went back and freshened it up, it just makes sense to have the whole park looking presentable and I believe a building, attraction, show, or ride should operate in the future as to how it operates when it opens. Unless of course something is added which only makes the experience better. Six Flags took X and made it X2, all rides need constant love. With that I hope SE gets some love when the area transforms (as it appears to be doing) into the DC Universe.

With the Commonwealth Games coming to Gold Coast now in 2018 I wonder if that year we could see some big investments in our parks to cash in on the tourists that would be here during the games.

Who can forget we know have Transformers ride out there, for me that I something I REALLY would like to try out! Now that you mention Busch, yes! I would really love to see one of their parks here. I mean we have SW, which they do. But obviously they do their rides on a much grander scale being from America; although looking at photos I think we do enclosures better. But something like their Africa or Europe park would be awesome! We got close with the African Safari World in Melbourne, maybe another day! But do I have to pick one company, can I have a park from each company, Disney, Universal, Merlin, Cedar Fair, Six Flags??

This will never get old for me I don't think easily impressed, I think quality product. What large roller coaster have the story line actually unfold as it is running, not just in the queue or a room with a TV? TPR also seemed pretty impressed with it and they travel the world riding these things. I think someone even said its what Xcelerator should have been. Its also a lot better IMO than an accelerator that goes straight, straight down and into the break run.

Harry potter, Sipderman, or Dragon Challenge boring? I mean I am yet to ride them, but I'm also yet to hear someone say they found them boring.

^ Look its also a nice shiny red and blue... pity it isn't like that today! Maybe with the park sort of having a makeover and really expanding into the whole DC Comics theme maybe SE will get some love in this... mist returned, new paint job and maybe even a nicer area outside leading into the LW area, whatever that will be turned into.

Wasn't there always a trim on the drop though? Or have they added more trims to the drop?

Well we are getting a Madam Tussauds! Or however you spell it?? So I was expecting for Merlin to bring some of their other brands here sooner or later.

When I was there last year I didn't see the steam on SE or Batwing for a while! Its a shame because I feel like they really do just help finish off a ride and I really wish the parks could bring them back.

I think I also remember in peak times when BT was at its best, they would have big wait times!!

But isn't LW replacing their trains, but I have a feeling its probably not just technology but also guest comfort My one and only gripe about LW has always been its loading (that goes for cyclone too) with only one train I've always felt like they just take forever to unload it, load it, check then send it off! Some of the videos I've seen of the American parks they seem to do it so quickly, even loading it as people are getting off, making for one continuos flow. I suppose when you've got so many trains running you can't hold things up before they start to bank up, kind of like Scooby. Wipeout uses that system though where the harnesses come down automatically and they don't get checked they obviously just rely on the computers to tell them everything is locked!

Well they do look ugly, but also you only have to read in the paper that there is a lot of things that aren't so nice that happen over there and its not just the street races!

^^ But when I was a small child I HATED Gremlins and I refused to go on it, so how was it a family ride for everyone if not everyone could? That then brought our family back to the babysitting fiasco. The same went for our family with bermuda Triangle. Actually reading the comments on Youtube of videos of Gremlins the majority of people there comment how much the ride freaked them out when they used to ride it; so I don't think height restrictions when the ride just plain freaked small kids out! Also, Scooby's seating, you can always go in 2 cars 3 in one, 2 in the other, whats the big deal; every time I go with friends or family we quite often have to split up. I never hear anyone complaining about it and see plenty of other people doing it; I found that that just an excuse to complain about something. I think I remember the ride was 4 across seating? So how can they all ride together? Someone would left be in there own row or you go 3 and 2 again. In terms of taking the comments from people who are visiting I think one thing I've learned as has been pointed out on here numerous times before people are just going to complain no matter what and people hate change. If we were getting a new show or dark ride people would still be complaining (Hollywood Stunt Driver)! However, I just had someone come back from the GC and the parks and had nothing positive to say, apart from missing Scooby being down for maintenance. Back to Green Lantern I'm hoping I'll be back up there sometime after it opens, but when it has died down. Reading the trip reports off TPR from IAAPA they seem to be really liking these new trains; it makes you feel proud that we can create something that can get people from across the world excited! I'm looking forward to seeing how the surrounding area looks and what it will be like getting across to the ride!

^ But this ride hasn't replaced any other rides.... we have just seen closures of other rides in the park, which because we haven't heard anything from the park no one actually knows the real reason for their closures! Something could have come up which was unavoidable! Have a little faith in the parks, look at the shows, events and parades they have provided us, I think it shows they are interested in something more than just theme parks. Scooby is also a family ride, that replaced a family ride and before someone says Sooby is a coaster Gremlins wasn't. I remember when I was young I was not such a huge fan of that ride! Also with the location, whats so wrong with it, we haven't even seen the final product of it. I do love those trains though, they've made the ride look that much more exciting. But MW have always gone beyond with their trains Superman pushing the trains and trains like of the Sccoby movie.

Thats it our parks have to be clever with what they've got. I think thats evident when we look at Movie is building and have built. But thinking back to capital and what they have to play with LW was 16mil and then we saw Wild West was 18mil right? The next big thing was Scooby in 2002 at 13mil and between WWF and Scooby we got Road Runner 2000 and 01' a re-theme of Batman. Then we saw SE come back at 16mil. However, that wasn't the only capital spent that year we also saw Shrek 4D which got brand new seating and a completely re-themed pre-show, not to mention paying for that licence couldn't have come cheap! The very next year was Batwing at 5mil. So in space of 2 years they spent 21mil that we know of (was the dogems around in 06' or 07'??). 2008 we got Hollywood Stunt Driver at 10mil and the roof. If anything I would say the later years have seen less time between major attractions and some great fillers, apart from the lull since 2008, which to be honest I hadn't even noticed I have been enjoying my time there so much. I think looking at that its clear capital does fluctuate and each of those additions have been great for the money available. Look at the price tag for Scooby and there is no doubt its world class. Our parks have been very clever with what they have to spend there is no denying that and they have always delivered fun attractions; so really don't understand anyone who complains about what we're getting especially when the global economy is struggling! I look at what they're spending this year differently. Rather than blowing it all on one ride in one year, my gut feeling is we will see it spent over a couple of years and end up with many great and fun attractions. I say this is my gut feeling because we know LW is getting new trains and life put back in it, GL being built and with the closure of LT and Batman we are sure to see some brilliant new replacement over the next couple of years; or maybe sooner! So instead of one big spend, they are going to smart and spread around overtime; so again why would complain about this? If I'm going to complain about anything at MW it would be F&B and the fact some of their shops and games close early, which I'm not a big fan of. But not having been to the park for sometime I can't even comment on that because it could have easily changed since then.

^ Well the broadwater is just becoming on big island, so I don't see why the couldn't! Hell in the next couple of years you might even be able to walk from Southport straight across it to SW. Looking at all those old photos its crazy to see how far the park has come and what it has transformed from, sad to see the ski show, what the park was based on gone now! It was a big tradition and big part of their history even arguably for Gold Coast history. The problem with land running out, I've always wanted to see them expand to the other side of the road and keep expanding and develop what is an eyesore on that side!!

^ Free wi-fi could mean more people tagging themselves at the park and uploading pics of them at the park onto Facebook and Twitter.

How about we just have Dreamworks buy Dreamworld, spend the capital on it and turn it into the park it could be
