If you load a Eurofighter train with adults you're going to have >600kg nine times out of ten. If that was really a problem there'd have been accidents before now.

In fairness, Wonderland Eurasia had a few decent coasters – the Intamin 10-inversion, the Zierer ESC, and the IE Park indoor looper. Quite a few Gerstlauer coasters have aged badly over the years. I can't say I'm hugely surprised to hear that Abyss has suffered a similar fate.

I actually see it as much worse than watching a rip-off copy of a Hollywood blockbuster. I can't imagine he's going to sell more than a few hundred copies at best; a RMC documentary is of niche interest after all. Personally I'd like to see him making a reasonable profit that he can then invest back into producing other material of interest to theme park enthusiasts.

For what it's worth, my favourite park in Australia is and remains Adventure World in Perth... Such a shame they took out their wooden mouse though. That was a treasure; I honestly thought it ran better than the one in Sydney.

I'm both disconcerted and disappointed that you're openly talking about stealing other people's work. I watched the trailer for "This is how we Roll" and preordered it for two reasons: it looks like something I will enjoy, and I want to support a project that by all accounts has been a great deal of work over an extended period. Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised; I've been getting harsh feedback because I have the audacity to charge $0.99 for a version of Solitaire I developed for iPhone :/

Gazza is spot on. The newer lap bar Eurofighters are fine; the older ones with overhead restraints vary from "not great" to "horrid". Separately, you do NOT want a clone of Sandy's Blasting Bronco. It's boring. What you do want is a clone of GaleForce at Playland's Castaway Cove. That ride is phenomenal.

Random thoughts having read this thread: Buzzsaw is no great loss. It was and is a turd. I’m much more upset about the demise of Big Red Car, which made me laugh. Abyss is a good ride that would be better with lap bars. For atmosphere alone (if perhaps not ride selection) I regard Adventure World as one of the top parks in Australia. I’m not inclined to write off Dreamworld just yet. The Mack Blue Fire is a good ride and a crowd pleaser. A few more upgrades like that could turn the place around. They’d be mad to remove the Giant Drop. Though it’s not a record holder any more it’s nevertheless the most iconic ride they have.

For me the ultimate insult in Warner operations was seeing Green Lantern loading efficiency and throughput quadruple after the queue had been closed for the day. I suppose the operations are still somewhat more efficient than China....

Busch Gardens has four trains for Montu even though the ride can only run three – it's a maintenance thing. Separately, if you want to see truly insane capacity, check out Olympia Looping on a busy day – with five seven-car trains it can handle of the order of four thousand guests per hour.

Heh, don't ever go to Universal Japan then They sell fast passes in bundles of specific rides – between 3 and 7 of them – so if you want a pass for something popular like Flying Dinosaur you end up having to pay for a pass for something you probably wouldn't have bothered to ride otherwise. Also, their top tier fast pass only limits a couple of the key rides to one use only.

Abyss is worth travelling for. Fantastic park.

That makes seven coasters for my next Australia trip. When the world goes back to normal I'm expecting to have to travel to Sydney on business. I look forward to that :)

Not even close mate, sorry. I've ridden the one in Texas. It is a fantastic ride but the throughput is very limited. I'd have thought something high capacity would be a better fit for Dreamworld. Being realistic, I think a good fit for Dreamworld would be a new generation Vekoma – any of the below would work. Bull. A good wooden coaster doesn't need inversions. Most of the inversions on wood coasters add nothing to the experience.

Not if it's maintained properly. I've ridden a few wooden coasters backwards, and they're fun. I look forward to this one –– not that I needed an excuse to return to the Gold Coast parks.
