Yes it was like a thick fog but brown. Its amazing that it streched as far as south west sydney to brisbane! and further
-
Its like they're teasing us. Everyone is hanging out for a new theme park and all they say is "proposed"
-
Bhahaha nice poll Gazza
-
It wasn't a sand storm. It was 100km winds from the west picking up all the red dust etc I went outside and saw everything was covered in a fine red powder and it was like red fog everywhere lol I wouldn't like to be on any fast rides haha come back with a mouth and nose full of red dust haha
-
I think he just bought them to make a quick buck hence the for sale ad but no one has bought any. Yes the park supposedly reopened last christmas holidays and is currently operating on weekends but what i've gathered is no one actually knows its open haha They are more into the carnival (travelling) ride and selling side of the buisness and I dont think they would use all the trains.
-
Greg oneil is I think the owner of the adventure land thing. Not a very wise investment if you ask me. Especially if hes going to leave them out in the open.
-
Other sources have told us that the coaster trains were and probably still are for sale. But now looks like they are in their final resting place. Behind oneils adventureland. There are the red and the yellow bush beast trains. And the aqua and the navy beastie trains. The front train designs could not be seen but there was graffiti on some of them. They were out in the open but now not even being maintained or used is just terrible. Some supposedly in very bad condition. This is so upsetting to see.

I'd put a new ride in. Like the rocknrollercoaster aerosmith one.. indoors etc but themed to matrix yehhhh And agree with everything said above haha. MUST bring back the studio tour!!
-
Beastie was the best as a kid.. when you could go on it like 20 times at once when the park was quiet on rainy days etc And those sea planes in hbl were amazing when i was little. Bush beast was great though. And just the general feelings you got when you rode the rides at wonderland made them that much better.

Or maybe they're just going to wing it haha -
Dick Smith head office moving to Eastern Creek site
Stef replied to SeriouslyPunked's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Bhahaha lol what a pointless discussion. Dont try and beat 'the man' is the bottom line. Asif they care. The only wonderland closure related company I hold a grudge on are sunway. I'd spit on their faces lol -
Uhm well I hate heights and am scared of heaps of stuff lol but I forced myself to go on and just distracted myself and kept saying.. emu's look at the emu's etc and then it droped and was super fun for some reason. I think its the adrenalin of not knowing when its going to drop that makes it even better. My advice and probably everyone else on this forum would agree.. go on it! Best ride in dreamworld I think.

"An indoor water park is like an outdoor water park, except all the fun is packed into a cube" - JV Play website Hahaha just thought that was funny.

Most of the residents are middle eastern..

There is an islamic school I think going in now.. She called my area "the middle of nowhere" lol. "It's got everything that Sydney's calling out for," I think there are better things we are calling out for at the moment..

Motorcoaster, WipeOut & Cyclone problems
Stef replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I remember them stopping the cyclone on the lifthill because the seatbelt mechanisim or something wasnt working on the back carrige. Haha I always see the wipeout stopping, then they run it through empty a couple of times etc, Its like a routine haha -
Yeah sorry I dont really know how to explain it lol. And I dont understand the above quote. haha My Idea that I think is pretty good, the only real space left close to a train line and very close to sydney cbd is the sydney olympic park, I used to have my school carnivals there and the place is a ghost town, I think they should build a dam good theme park there, and make people pay at the front gate, and replace the rides at the easter show with a permenant theme park. I just think its going to waste "irony" it used to be a rubbish tip. lol But yes I think we all have better ideas then these jvplay people or whatever.
-
If they were smart they would have bought land 10 years ago and sat on it until enough people were in the area etc. Now the property value in the area is ridiculous I'm sure there are better places to build a park in sydney. You dont really have to build "miles away from anywhere" just think ahead what the area will be like and put it next to a freeway. lol Its sad to see that this was on the front page of the local paper, we're so desperate for a DECENT theme park. Seriously australia is a joke, we're so behind the times, our population is tiny which makes for small quantities of everything including our beloved theme parks.
-
I highly doubt it will go ahead. I live in the area and there is really not much land for a hotel and water park and its a pretty stupid place to put a theme park considering it will be in the middle of nowhere in relation to tourist trap type attractions etc Also, the only main road in prestons/leppington is a disgusting 2 lane pot hole road into camden and macarthur locals would know what road im talking about, And is usually packed with cars at peak hour, the main shopping centre is about 30 mins drive and the area is mainly rural properties. Unless they somehow manage to purchase the old elcaballo blanco land I highly doubt this idea will go ahead. Bearing in mind that there was 100 hectares of basically THE ONLY VACANT LAND LEFT on camden valley way that just went for over 10 million dollars. So good luck to them, competing with jamberoo and wvtp's etc and finding the land.

Thanks for the link. We should have a competition each year on how much people have collected from the parks australian and/or internationally. And things like who has the oldest map the oldest ticket park anniversary/birthday paraphanalia etc Does anyone have more pics of their collections? I think its interesting looking at all the funky graphics and stuff haha
-
I thought it would be interesting to start collecting maps from theme parks I visited and over the years have established a fair collection of park maps, old tickets and show time guides. The most interesting being from thsoe parks that are now closed. I have: an old sydney town map Jamberoo Map (old) Many wonderland Maps , tickets , yearly passes and coupons. WVTP maps (2000 -now) 1990's tickets etc Dreamworld Maps From early 90's to now. Tokyo Disneyland Universal studios Japan And some sega world sydney maps. Its interesting to compare the maps and see whats changed over the years and what the main advertisment was at the time etc. I was just wondering if anyone else had any dated park maps of interest.
-
Personally I would be happy with any new thrill ride.
-
Looks great but I dont think jamberoo should be classified as a Sydney park, as its located nearly 2 hours from sydney cbd and is in the middle of nowhere (no offence to albion park and surrounding area residents). They just need some roller coasters now haha.
-
I dont see how it ties into batman though, just bounces up and down, i have never seen batman do that haha but yes it is a great ride but too short in duration and height.

Computers make everyone think they can be rude just because there are no real consiquences to their actions, thats no excuse to be rude to each other, forums are about helping each other out and discussing peoples opinions. Can people try and be civil, let it be.
