  1. perhaps something very big is in store for the lake! The pirate show will not need as much room - as no need to get speed up at the back end of the lake - hopefully seaworld will fill in at least half the lake and make more room for other things!!! wishful thinking?
  2. agrees with gazza - loved corkscrew yesterday - multiple rides - smooth - was great
  3. bermuda triangle yesterday walk on - no preshow (thank god) no sound in boat no volcano erupting scene only one side of the flood scene was operating scenes are dated... fire at end has been replaced by a red light tube.... weak... saddening...
  4. when i worked at mw, if a larger guest came up we were always told if they didnt fit in the front, to try them in the back as there was more room - and on a personal note - i always found the front a bit tight on my waist, at the back - no worries at all
  5. just a note - when you get to the scooby doo ride, make sure you sit in the back row of the car - the lapbars in the back row do not have to come down as far
  6. As most people here know I use to work at MW as a ride op, and what I have been reading on these forums lately has disappointed me. I loved movieworld as a child for its total escapism from everyday life. I began working at Movieworld for the very same reason, to engage guests in immersive experiences to give them a break. For a lot of families, a trip to a themepark is a big deal - not everyone can afford an annual pass, or for some people visiting the area the themepark day can be one of the highlights. I remember the first time I rode Scooby Doo. It was an incredible, exhilarating experience. Totally unexpected, so much fun, and easily the best themed ride I had ever been on. I loved working the ins and outs of the ride, and my favourite position to work on the ride was at the unload station. To see countless kids and families again and again just totally overjoyed and excited to have just ridden this incredible attraction, truly made my day. I am planning a return trip to Movieworld soon, to see the changes to the park first hand (admittedly I have not been to the park since the roof installation - I’m one of those people who just cannot afford to go as much as I would like.) My questions and point is - Will I be disappointed re-riding Scooby Doo or should I skip it? If the ride really has deteriorated to the point some suggest here, I do not want to ride it again. Does my satisfaction as a paying guest matter to WVTP? Yes, I have to spend my money wisely, does WVTP deserve my money? I can tell you this, if WVTP have let their most themed attraction deteriorate so they could afford a "stunt" show and a roof I will not return.
  7. Put your top 10 - with ur number one being your favorite ride - judge the ride on overall experience! My top 10 1. Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster 2. Superman Escape 3. Giant Drop 4. Wipeout 5. Batwing Spaceshot 6. Jet Ski Rescue 7. Lethal Weapon 8. The Claw 9. Tower of Terror 10. Batman Adventure
  8. on the link they have the layout of the attraction - this looks incredible! Cannot wait to check it out! This is the first thing I have been excited about at Dreamworld in the last few years

  10. and if the guards start catching little kids at the bottom of the rides, watch the lawsuits start rolling in!
  11. I use to work at MW, there are a couple of main issues with filming and taking photos during the actual ride is going. 1. For guests who are not use to the simulator the aggressive and shocking sudden movements could easily make an arm swing and hit themselves, or another guest in the face. 2. Flash photography will NOT work inside the simulator, the screen is a projection, and any photo taken with a flash will show up as a white projector screen when you get it home. 3. It's tacky! I don't want to sit immersed in a pre-show to see someones flash going off taking photos. 4. It's in MW's best interests not to let people film and upload the pre-shows at Batman. Last time I went it was extremly dodgy and looked very low budget. 5. Like it or not, you are on WVTP property, Movieworld can make the rules. If they don't want you filming or taking pictures, that's that. Maybe you could write to them saying your a massive fan and you would love to take pics. They might write back and give you permission. Anyway, just my opinions, not those of MW but what i've kind of worked out from working there.
  12. Wishful thinking here I know, Mummy opens September 8th - screamworld is September 12th. Is is possible that the new attraction opening on September 12th is something different to Mummy? Or, it says on the dreamworld site -" A new attraction will be unveiled! " Is it possible that they may be announcing a new attraction that will open and that they will commence building on - they are not saying that it will be opening on the night. yes i know, wishful thinking but might be time for something new from dw after the terrible mistake of md coaster.
  13. FIRTHER TO MY EMAIL ABOVE - taken from Behind Big Brother In an update to our earlier post, Behindbigbrother has learnt that executives at Network Seven have been busy this morning holding internal discussions into the possibility of taking on the show. We’re told that executives at the network are extremely interested in negotiating with Southern Star Endemol the possibility of locking in the show for 2009 and/or beyond. The meetings this morning included discussions on the highest possible price the network could bid for the show, potential hosts and producers, possible audience loss/gain and other minor details. Possible hosts for the show include those currently featured on the show but not contracted to Ten, such as Fitzy and Bree. Hosts such as Mike Goldman have contracts with Ten, not SSE. If Seven were to take over the show their current planning would see the compound remain at Dreamworld along with all evictions and live content. All shows would be split across Seven’s three channels - 7 Digital, 7HD, and 7SD2. The daily shows would be situated at 7:30pm following the network’s flagship Home & Away. Official discussions between SSE and Seven cannot occur until at least July 22 - when BB08 wraps up. The Seven Network and Network Nine both declined to give Behindbigbrother any official comment.
  14. Remember - for the 2007 season of Big Brother there was a bidding war between 10 and 7 for the rights. Some claimed that this was channel 7's way of driving up the price of big brother for 10, to limit the other programming, others believe channel 7 really did want it. A move to channel 7 may happen, so i wouldn't rule it out just yet. As the studios are built, and will be empty, channel 7 would be stupid to relocate from Dreamwold
  15. Seaworld is boring! For $66 bucks you can find something to do with your money. I'm not a big thrill ride freak but I just don't really care about the animals! Never enough for me to do at Seaworld. If you want to see Polar Bears and sharks - go to seaworld. It's a boring place with not enough to do in your day!
  16. whenever i ride lethal weopan i tuck my head right back into one of the corners, and keep it held there for the duration - stops the banging - coming round the bit just after the camera i always put my head forward away from the harness for the last jarring section. voila! no headaches, and a great ride!
  17. I think they should open up the driveway area to the left of Lethal Weapon looking from the Superman ride. Put in a enclosed travelator to enable guests to get to the new and exciting section of the park. Along the left hand side, we see movie memorabilia, costumes and the like. On the right hand side of the tube it is a clear glass window, enabling guests a new and exciting view of the Lethal Weapon ride. Positioned above the travelators there are plasma screens, playing trailers for upcoming WB movies. This would allow guests another access point to the back side of the park and the new themed area. kind of like this http://www.kunsthausgraz.steiermark.at/cms.../Travelator.jpg I think a Simpsons land would be brilliant. I could just imagine a huge Nuclear Power Plant (aka Cinderella's Castle at Disneyland) towering over the park - how funny!I really don't think they should get rid of Batman yet - it is a great family attraction!and the showstage - perhaps a permanent show like a Broadway revue or something massive and gerat. How about a Cirque Du Soleil show?
  18. Wild West is not allowed to operate after a certain time due to noise restrictions and complaints from neighbours. I think that a River rapids ride is a fantastic idea, or maybe a massive intense walkthrough experience. Is there room for a smaller land in there? With the showstage you could fit a flat ride and roller-coaster in that space!
  19. weird... I was at Dreamworld the other day, and the whole ride is borded up completly. They have taken away the queue lines and now there are some picnic benches in there.
  20. Pretty sure this is having a soft opening today ! Can anyone confirm? Official Dreamworld website is now touting the "big 6" thrill rides and states that the ride opens on the 30th.
