  1. On the contrary, does 4 or 5 posts in a row saying the same thing add to the conversation anymore than pos/neg reps? It's much of a muchness really. And for what it's worth instantly dismissing other peoples opinions as "simple minded" just because they've given a neg rep is kinda hypocritical. Anyway this is getting off topic. Id be upset to see this ride go like any, but all rides have their time. Usually it makes room for more but in Sea World's case they've made a bit of a habit of removing and not replacing rides.... But as others have said i don't think it's time for Vikings just yet!
  2. To be fair, my negative reps on posts isn't me trying to say they're 'wrong' or anything personal. Just that i disagree and don't have much more to add other than what's been said. I also up rep on posts i agree with. I'd say others are in the same boat. I mean, your points are valid, it could be much better in comparison to today's standards i agree. But IMO it's still a good ride, just hasn't aged the best and isn't high thrill. I'm more of a lurker on here....so i tend to up/down rep instead of replying with my opinion. But then i suppose that kinda misses the point of forums hey....
  3. They have someone standing there telling you as well from memory.
  4. Everybody deals with tragedy their own way. Im much the same, until my trip up next year i don't think i'll fully comprehend what's happened..or that the ride is even closed. Like you said it's just all so surreal right now. But it does make sense, we're all really passionate about our parks and rides, they've brought us so much happiness and joy. It's sad to see a ride we've loved so much close in a way we would have never expected.... We all need our own goodbyes.
  5. Ahhhh my bad, i had read the one released that arvo about the statement from Dreamworld CEO. i misunderstood you sorry! Did it? Im not a regular but it still seemed mostly the same to me apart from Buzzsaw being there obviously. Even when TRR was open it seemed a bit empty to me. Maybe my memory's playing tricks with me though.
  6. Dreamworld wrote the statement, Ardent published it. Ardent have public shareholders to answer too, Shareholders hate uncertainty so Ardent have to make statements about the situation. For the most part they've just been releasing Dreamworlds Media statements to them. Either way, the media are going to give it a negative twist no matter what Dreamworld do. Making any decisions based on Media reaction would be silly. They've never done it before to my knowledge, why start now? Im gonna miss it for sure, But it's really the right decision imo. On the positive side, perhaps we will finally get that Gold Rush refresh in the next few years. Im always keen for new rides
  7. In comparison to WnW? WWW definitely needs an expansion. It's only just a full day park imo.
  8. The whole thing needed a major refurbishment from what i read. Not just fix up a few effects and light bulbs. Because it was gonna cost so much to bring it back to it's former glory, they obviously saw better to invest and build a brand new coaster. Bring more people to the Park, update it a little ect.
  9. Obviously the Dreamworld Incident is a factor. FWIW This is around the time my family and i have always planned our Gold Coast trips (We're from Adelaide). Usually seems to be the quietest time of year, most of the rides are only single op cause of that. Thankfully we gave it a skip this year otherwise we would be there right now....
  10. For those who can't find it, Ardent have made another Press Release: http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20161026/pdf/43cbh15qtpbqxw.pdf
  11. Logical conclusion from the images we have seen i guess....Maybe there is a half decent journo out there!
  12. I think he's referring to the two rafts colliding like they did. But to be fair it would take a fair effort to flip one over
  13. Seeing some of the crap on my Facebook since yesterday makes me realise why the media are so negative towards Dreamworld. The GP are no better in some cases. Apparently everyone on my FB feed today is a Mechanical/Ride Engineer who knows better than you know, the actual Ride Engineers with years of experience who know the ride inside out. This union stuff annoys me too tbh, if they really had a problem with it why is it only brought up like this now? I really wish everyone would just shut up until the official reports start coming through. Dreamworld don't deserve to have the finger pointed at them until we KNOW it's their fault (if it even was). They're grieving as much as the rest of us over this. Disgusting really.
  14. Well there ya go, knew i would be wrong. This just saddens me to no end. Especially on such a tame ride....We all know there's risks going into a park/ride like that. but...just shocked. Hits so much harder when it happens at our own
  15. It opened on the 20th of December that year...I highly doubt it. Hate the media sometimes. EDIT: I was wrong, apologies.
  16. http://livestream.com/queenslandpolice/events/5898518
  17. PLEASE not another DC comics theme, we already have what? 4 rides themed to DC in MW. we don't need a fifth unless they want to start calling it DC Comics World
  18. No! Who thought this up! Lethal Weapon is one of the better rides we have in Australia. And with how all Theme Parks seem to be going cheap and spending as little as possible on new rides at the moment, whatever replaces it would end up being horrible! It just needs a re-theme/re-vamp. Aren't there new seats coming for it? Slightly off topic but why is it always referred to "Ride Lethal Weapon" and not just "Lethal Weapon"?
  19. Is there a reason why DW and MW both got small cheap rollercoasters this year?
  20. The Claw - Motor stopped (right at the top of the cycle) were left swinging for a good 10 mins until it stopped naturally, apparently it was a power failure. Stingray - Got on then had to get off cause some bouncy ball fell under the ride. Superman Escape - Wasn't running all morning (it kept rolling back on test rides) finally opened in the afternoon Battlestar Galactica: Humans - Had to wait for them to do about 4 test runs then they let us on. Shreck 4D (Universal Studios: Singapore) - Half of the seats in the cinema weren't moving......
  21. oh so thats what happened in the vid they popped up to early 2 things 1. what do they do to get the car back to the station if it rolls back 2. how does the cold weather or whatever it is affect how the car is accellarated (eg forcing a rollback)
  22. wouldent the track get damaged if it rolledback (not like the one in the vid but to the top and back) i mean there are some sharp turns inside the SE stuffs up all the time anyway (ive been to the gold coast twice now 1st time i could see them putting on the top bit from the top of the mammoth falls line at W'N'W and when i went to MW they were testing it (I SAW IT RUN FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!!!!!!!) the second time i went i really wanted to go on it but it was broken down and finall opened at 1:00 the day before it didnt make it over the top hat thingy
  23. well i havent been to MW in a year now (nor this site i still thought it was roller-coaster.com.au) but i hope that rodney guy or someone like him will be there (it was so funny seeing them act out as if he wasn't a setup) im just disapointed that PASS retired as well
