Mad Max was certainly an option that they explored for post Police Academy. A former entertainment manager at the park even confirmed as such on one of the MW Facebook groups at one point.

Attended both Friday and Saturday night's events and have to agree that the event is "stale". Food wise - Had the Ribs plate ($23) on Friday and they were luke-warm, potato salad was from a packet and the corn was plain not even the flavoured one the outlet was also selling. Chicken fried rice ($15) on Saturday and it was great, and a self service garnish/sauce station was good. There seems to be less 3rd party entertainment staff/roving performers in comparison to previous years, Aqua Light Show remains a highlight and the only "world class" theme park show in Australia. 2 train operation on Leviathan so wait was no longer than 30mins, Jet Rescue line was not over 20mins. Vortex was an unplanned closure on Saturday.

This was apparently the original plan prior to HSD and definitely something I think worthy of revisiting. The simple reason it’s still running is it’s “good enough” that’s the motto for VRTP right now, as long as guests keep coming through the doors HSD2 is is the level of quality we can expect. We are on version 2.8 or something by now with all the changes/alterations since it opened.

This was my thoughts too, all 6 gondolas were working fine on the 21st of Jan and they have not operated the ride with all gondolas previously in offpeak when they are not really needed.

This to me is just their usual marketing BS, first night of FN sold out too but the crowds were not close to other nights. Tickets are still available on their website too currently. Nice to see they still monitor Parkz as this has now been fixed.

There's also nothing new this year, people need a reason to return (thooies somewhat excluded). It's always been the lesser of the VRTP events since leaving MW, at half price I'm buying an extra ticket (in addition to my One Pass redemption) for more night rides on Levi New maintenance period for Trident means it will be out the whole event despite the home page of the event website advertising it.

Not quite as catchy but "SDSC - slightly reduced theming to the dark part of the ride." is my favourite way to refer to this (as VRTP marketing did on FB).

Correct, Doomsday was the first use of the sign and imho should have been the last. It made sense to explain the construction next door but is tacky otherwise. For quite awhile it promoted the App.

I definitely think thats the plan with Next Gen being on this sign being an oversight.

The smaller ride closed sign has now been updated too, worth noting this says SDSC Next Gen whilst most of the communication regarding the upgrade/refurb simply refers to it as SDSC.

I would love if it was all connected path up to West from behind Scooby would be great. Many years ago one of the reasons previously mentioned by staff when the SDSC > SE shortcut was closed is that management wanted guests to go through Main St with Retail & F/B. Given the recent trend of VRTP seeking $$$ over guest experience it wouldn’t suprise me though if we simply get the main st (former China Town entrance) but I certainly hope at minimum it is connected with SE.

For what it’s worth I attended on the 27th for the first day of Hooray for Hollywood, fully knowing how busy it was and have to echo the comments of others that ride operations simply do not work as effectively as they used to years back for whatever reason. They were running two trains on SE/DCR/RR. The skeptic in me does wonder if there’s no sense of urgency in an effort to sell more fast track. Slight note on that review FT is not automatically allocated front row, it depends on the operator and many take from general first. You can also always request which row you would like and wait for it. There are things the park could have done to be better and avoid some minor guest triggers. - Not advertise attractions as opening at 9:30AM on the website/app, staff aren’t even rostered to ensure this is possible. - WWF and HSD not being listed as closed on the website despite the park being aware it will be down all day. - Have a backup of paper maps/showtimes when there are issues with the app and/or mobile reception. - Crowd Management, was just chaos everywhere. Have some staff rostered simply to organise que’s/people especially for rides and shows.

It was only recently Movie World updated the text description in the app for SDSC to say closed, it said “closing at the end of the school holidays” all year. Safe to say communication is not VRTP’s strong suit. The ride is also still included under rides on the app, considering the main use of the app is navigation/checking ride wait times I think it should be removed until it’s reopening. Whilst this sign change is better than the standard a-frame maintenance sign that has been outside the ride since closure I think they should do better with a custom a-frame or similar with a bit more information, maybe even concept art. People like to take photos with the ride signs/replicate old photos so I think this should have been left as is so people can do so.

Can confirm A car may have been crushed by said roof/tree too… But yes if that’s the only damage I hope to see it reopen (with one less Model T Ford)

Presumably the mods will split it off at some point. So the way Flyer works for Passholders at Night Markets is your pass is scanned at ride entry and you are issued a wristband that allows you to ride for the rest of the night, this same staff member is also selling the single ride tickets.
