Questions 1) DJ answered for you. 2) I'm unsure of the cost of each show i haven't seen or heard of it as of yet it cost is more based monthly, That I'm not aloud to say. 3) There has been some issues none that are major but there has been some instances were parts of the bike have come of as a result of wear and tear. 4) you don't have a forth question 5) No i don't have any photos of the backwards car, it looks exactly the same as all the rest and i could just put a pic of one of the normal cars if i wanted to and you would be fooled. 6) Drivers before there first show go through Practice runs and then each driver is allowed a free lance drive for 10 mins were they can do what ever then between shows they rest in the staff room have a wrap meeting which is about there just done show feedback and what not, They also make in park appearances plus the star parade, and yeah basically like Shows and entertainment stuff we just sit around in the green room chat, muck around, clean costumes, and do some more lazing around. 7) WVTP does not encourage backstage photography of any sort. One section which is part of a employees contract. This rule can be modified when permission is granted but these photos are for personal use and are not to be shown to any members of the public. Plus chances are you are going to get caught if you try backstage monitors, members of staff and higher management are bound to catch you in the act. So im sorry but i doubt you will find any in the near future.

Ok to solve all your questions about the cars here goes. firstly yes there is now a dummy car that drives backwards the driver lays down in the back of the car and looks out of a mesh section in the back of the car. As for the jump section alright here goes. Marty is told to set the car Marty gets into the car that is parked ready to exit at the end of the explosion then one of the actual rally drivers drives out pretending to be Marty hence if you look closely in the car you can also tell its not Marty and the video of him in the car is pre shot and the same each time. the rally driver pretends to be the worst driver around and makes his way to the top also there are not as many ramps as the video you see makes out to be then when the video reaches the end tech booth gives the driver clearance to drive out into view hence all the radio tech in the helmets and the head set worn by Gavin Cohlmen who is driving co-ordinator on the team, so they can communicate with everyone. ( its amazing how many small crashes, car lock ups actually happen each day that no one ever see's or mentions on the forum i thought by now someone would have seen one) after the car is given the all clear he enters the building followed by the track car doing its part then Marty drives out using a total of 3 cars for the stunt that's incl the track car These are the cars used for the show: 4 Cop cars (only 3 used now due to changes in the show) 1 Track car 1 Dummy cop car (the brake in half one) 1 Dummy rally car (reverse drive) 3 Rally cars Also on site is a maintenance shed behind the set which is used for car services new tyres ect. The shed was not complete till about 4 weeks after the show opened due to that fact they were more concerned about the arena so during that time cars were taken off site for repairs. Also to answer your question i work in the Shows and Entertainment department.

Kieron5379 I had a feeling you would jump at this seems to me your a bit of a Dreamworld fan unlike most. I think you will find that Joz is talking about back in the older days i to can remember that they wouldn't allow you to take photos it was one of the only things my parents said they disliked about the park. This being back in the day when a lot of people refereed Dreamworld as being the Disney of Australia, What a title to have and you would think that it would be something you wouldn't want to let go of.
-
The car that enters the ramp area is the same car you see at the top and as the car enters the Dummy car makes its way out of the building allowing room for the real car to stay inside till all those have left the arena and all effects are fixed, refilled and ready to go again.

I Searched and searched but this is the only info i can find hope it helps if your actually after facts on the attraction. Opened: 1998 Capacity: 1,440 people per hour Design: Warner Bros. Movie World Wild West Falls Adventure Ride is the 8th fastest ride in Australia (70km/h). Contains the tallest drop on a Southern Hemisphere Flume ride (20m). Wild West Falls Adventure Ride is Australia’s largest ever theme park attraction, spanning a massive 2.8 hectares. It’s surface area has increased the size of Warner Bros. Movie World by 20 per cent. The Wild West Falls Adventure Ride mountain is more than 35 metres high and 420 metres around the base – that’s bigger than an Olympic running track! The final splashdown propels riders down a 20 metre heart stopping drop at 70 kilometres an hour, with no brakes! The ride features a state-of-the-art, never before seen nine metre reverse drop and two elevated 25 degree turntables. Passengers are seated in newly developed boats that hold eight passengers and the ride can run a maximum of 18 full boats at one time. The ride takes 5.8 minutes to complete. At capacity, the Wild West Falls Adventure Ride can carry 1,440 passengers per hour based on a 45 second load and unload, and a despatch interval of 20 seconds. More than 175,000 litres of water surge through the main pump every minute – enough to fill 3.5 backyard pools. 1.5 million litres of water is used in the flume troughs and reservoir. During the six month construction more than 4,200 tonnes of concrete was used, 16,000 cubic metres of earth were moved, six kilometres of PVC pipe was laid and 300 people worked on the site

IMO i think that our parks will one day bring in the fast food chains to the park it for one is a sure fire way to make big bucks. On average a Mc Donalds store which opens from 6 till 11pm can make close to $100,000 gross put this into a theme park and say hours be 11am till 5pm and with less potential than a free standing store with Drive thru you could easily earn $50,000 gross. Need to keep in mind staff wages will be off a maccas award summary And you really don't need that many staff 2 counter staff 2 managers and 3 back area staff, then on peak days like end off week and weekends add another staff member to each area. Labour wouldn't be very high (BTW all this is based on experience in a Mc Donalds store) Stock cost very min. Then operational costs are also very minimal you would be looking at $50,000 a week if not more. Dreamworld is constantly trying out this option with the addition of eagle boys and we see the US made company Crispy Creme in the park. I really dont recon it will be to long till someone tries to put in a fast food giant into a park. I know maccas has tried with Dreamworld many a times with there close friendship with the park when it comes to events.

I'm pretty sure you will find the Big Splash has gone already it was only a seasonal Attraction Mainly for the Christmas holiday period. Mind you it was a really good ride i happen to be in Sydney each year around New Years for party celebrations till the end of Jan so i usually venture down to luna park and This year i was actually very impressed with Luna park on my visit.

Original that is true but i see it that all the parks including DW are still getting better not dropping when i went to DW back a month ago after 3 years i was very amazed as to how good it actually was compared to what i had heard on here and my own opinion. I still get told all the time by people though that when it comes to movie world they said they preferred it because of the atmosphere of the park my cousin and a close friend both said the same thing in say they could just walk around all day and still enjoy it. A WVTP survey from last year showed that Movie World was the most preferred park with most saying 82% they enjoyed the overall atmosphere better than any other theme park in Australia. This survey done in park and was monitored and made by a company called Gap Buster.

As much as I'm a major fan of all of WVTP parks all of the above as said before it cannot be denied. As a lot of people have said though this is being used as a excuse, the financial crisis is being used as a excuse by our parks to make any penny stay in the bank. As for scooby that seems to be the main thing people are bringing up when it comes down to rides being cut back on SFX may i add the fact that no other attractions in the park have had any changes to there operations when it comes to the guest experience, Superman if you ask me had a upgrade this year with more things added to the ride like more lighting everything has been fixed and is going. WWF no down grades since the accident, more has been added since Christmas and many others have realized this also with the adding of fog/mist that travels down the ghost town now along with the fog coming from the Indian tee pee's. Lets not forget to mention the fact that during lethal weapons down time china town is getting a little TLC a touch up and work done on the area to bring it back to its original state. Also the facades near the show stage are also at the moment undergoing work with new timber slates and a fresh coat of paint. In early/mid Feb Dirty Harry's Bar facades that face Scooby were given a new look and a fresh coat of paint. Plus there is so much more when it comes to the park being worked on this year to come. So no one can say the park is dropping in experience if anything they are making the park better and we all decide not to acknowledge it because hours are cut back shop hours are cut back and one of our rides undergoes a operational time table. As for Scooby i would like to clear this issue up this year new lights were added to the ride in total creating for a much better dark ride section all effects are working and have been all year. As for the main room all lighting effects and lasers are working also we cannot forget the addition of the spider added late last year. As for fog, Fog machines are located at opposite ends of each other with a total of two they are both set on a timer and are located under both of the lasers at the north end and the south of the warehouse. The chances are there will be points during the day were you could be on the ride when fog is about to go off meaning the room will not have huge amounts of fog still enough the be able to see the lasers but not to a huge extent. I know for a fact a lot of guest went on a 2nd time and enjoyed it more because fog had just gone off before they entered the room. After saying all that no one can sit there and say that WVTP is doing nothing to create a better experience or day experience for guests. having gone to the park on Thursday last week as a guest i was actually very happy with all the work going on in the park also very happy with all the flags on main street which had been replaced just recently and the trees are growing quiet well. Those who saw the Getaway shoot I'm not sure if you all agree but the look down main street shot actually looked very nice.

The point in the matter is as mentioned WVTP really isn't doing any better in there sales than they did this time last year. Everyone reckons they are, but they're not. These Q150 passes are only creating a once off admission. There may be heaps of people in the park but how many are actual one day admission payers? Slim to none. A lot of people would be surprised as to how many people are actually paying to get into the park, all you have to do is look at the ticket booth line and the turnstile line at 9:30 each morning, there is no one at the ticket booth line. The booths don't open till 10 so you can't say that they have already bought there tickets. The only good thing about all this is that for the parks quarterly report in July will be the in park sales increase. I really don't even think that will be up as much as a lot of people think, so many people in these times opt for a pre made lunch from home. I say give it time and so many Shows and entertainment staff will get the cut and we will only see the occasional character. S&E staff don't start till later now anyway with the cut of the rope drop performance. It will be interesting to see how the future pans out.

No Cerberus, Mickey is correct i heard about it on Sunday functions these days are not cheap plus it also depends on how long you have the ride for also as to the price tag. But when i was a employee at maccas they each year would hire dreamworld out except last year they hired Movie World out with 7 characters, 6 of the parks major attractions, huge food and beverage setup and they also hired the show stage for a pre night presentation from 5:45 till 10pm for over 3000 crew members one great night for parks staff and those invited setting back Mcdonalds over $400,000.

financial wouldn't surprise me but i highly doubt it. financially WVTP are doing all they can to cut back were possible with shops not opening till midday well most, Park opening later, less staff manning rides, Superman escape front of house person at the locker no longer stands to cut back on one persons wage and has been replaced with a none waged sign, picture below. Batman adventure ride now only operating a certain times to cut back costs same with some village rides (WB kids) Cutting back show times with HWSD though they still find time to play around with the fire ball effect after the last show with it going off about 8 times in a row and no it wasn't for a testing reason they were having fun. Though all these cutbacks are creating for a down on full customer experience, The park is seeing for some much needed upgrades and maintenance which will in the long run create for a much better park. These times early year i find to be the best time as the rides are just about done maintenance all rides are back in tip top form the parks are quite. it's good. Also while I'm at it i may as well mention the SE steam it is hot and yes it is going i went on the ride numours times in a row and they were working i think there may have been one or two which weren't going but the one that comes out of the wall on the right hand side at the facade station shoots a all mighty punch of heat and is right at you.

As for Scooby Doo Cadboy i really don't know what to say about this except it's a on and off experience in the fact on Thursday when i went to the park to take photo's i went on Scooby all effects were going which was a positive and a fog machine was going off as i entered the main room all lasers were working perfectly. The last drop with the laser was going also then i went on in the afternoon and there was no were near as much fog and all areas.

To answer your question ash there has been changes in Superman nothing huge they have added some new lights here and there the one most people will notice is 3 green spots the face down towards the ground directly opposite the water effect plus all old effects are all now running again. Like DJ said this year looks to be a year to update old equipment i have seen this happen at Movie World over the past month plus all the maintenance in general the park is doing i think this year is the perfect time to do this and restore what needs to be restored.

I just watched it then i was on it but you won't be able to guess who he he he he. -
Yes T-bone that is correct reason for that not going ahead Can't be said but trust me and i'm sure DJ and Ian will back me up in say we won't see anything there anytime soon. Just to back up my theory on this years plans of being a touch up year. On my day off today i visited the park to take some photo's of work that is already going on in the park. There are 2 main areas in which are being worked on one is for a rumor going around about a new attraction to the western area. Basically the western facades around the sound stage are all going under some work at the moment as to how extensive I'm not sure there are doing section by section replacing all the wooden Slates out the front of each facade picture below that is all at the moment that can be seen i have heard more to be happening plus some areas are temp walled off. 2nd area I'm sure a lot of people will be happy with is due to the current scheduled maintenance of lethal weapon china town is getting a touch up. picture below. While I'm at it i may as well mention the current in park changes. Rides and Attractions open at 10:30 these times go back to normal in School holidays (peak times) Batman the adventure ride now only opens between 10:30 to 11:30 and 3pm to 5pm There is now only 2 Hollywood stunt driver viewings at the moment 11am and 1pm

As everyone has said Woodie, Woodie, Woodie to tell you the truth it would look great and would fit in so well in the western section of the park but only one person has mentioned the fact as to were are we going to put it. Behind the western area facades, No there is no room for all those who know there knowledge of the WVTP property at Oxenford or work there it is merely impossible to put one behind there as the park is basically boarding the end of the property. Next thing people will do is say oh but on Google earth there is no but on Google earth the land may be big enough but half of it is owned by council. Then your next Idea for a area would have to be in between wild west and lethal weapon that also is a big no in a fact that the area is used for merchandise storage plus most of that area is access roads for Shows and entertainment staff to get to the show stage. In my opinion this year is going to be a major touch up year for the park in general to do a fresh coat of paint, spice up the park as already is happening and planned for early this year. Attraction wise for the future i see attractions that are on the big thrill side but don't take up much room example Batwing In the planning of Movie World i don't see there have been much thinking gone into the future expansion of the park as there really isn't much room left. If i could ask for one attraction to come back and be updated to today, Bring back Studio Tour Tram's a true Movie park attraction and also has great potential for change and to be updated when needed.
-
Well according to the MLT Financial Report the laser tag attraction not actually named as the attraction is suppose to open in time for the up and coming holidays.
-
No charge i like that, i dislike the fact this is going to create huge ques and won't have a very high hourly capacity. I wouldn't touch it in summer. That is just my opinion.

Yesss i doc brown have taken klassen's account details and have are sending him back in time tonight when the clock strikes 12 so he can not stop me mwaa ha ha ha mwaa ha ha ha. he wishes!

May i ask as to what the Hell are you talking about?????? No what i said above hadn't been mentioned before as that info came out less than 24 hours after i posted it. Plus you may have remember asking why the two parks are together but im afraid to say that's not what this thread or my opening response is any were near close to im give those who are interested the results on how our parks went in the Queensland 150 must do's competition.
