Tokyo Disneyland and Sea better than US
mattcrombie replied to JD_bunnies_supporter's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I have been to Tokyo Disneyland an Disneysea and i must say, i prefer Tokyo Disneyland than the original in California. Its alot bigger, I felt the rides were made to cater for more people and more intense in some cases Eg. Splash Mountain you sit 2 in each row, and the ride is alot more better. The park is immaculate and deff has a different vibe to the original but I still prefer it. As for Disneysea. It is far my faviourte and best Disney park i have been too. The theming is so good, you completely feel like your in another world. I cant wait to go back soon. -
you cant, its a direct cd made for dreamworld. not a radio station sorry

This sounds really exciting. More should surface soon.

Theme Parks/Water Parks In Movies
mattcrombie replied to Gold Coaster's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Rollercoaster (1977) I watched this the other day on day time TV. It was at Magic Mountain six Flags. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CTm9nOIiqt0 -
THE biggest children's playground on the Gold Coast will close as work starts on the $32 million development of the Southport Broadwater Parklands. But swimming will still be permitted in the popular netted lagoon at the site, on the side of the Gold Coast Highway opposite Australia Fair shopping centre. The development, which some say will be the Gold Coast's answer to Brisbane's South Bank, will take about 12 months to complete. During that time, the 3km of bikeways and walkways in the park and the swimming lagoon will stay open, but the nearby Broadwater car park will be shut, along with the park's playground, climbing statues and monorail ride. Southport-based city councillor Dawn Crichlow said yesterday that preliminary work would start at the park by the end of the month and the closures would follow soon after. It is hoped the car park will be reopened within six months. Until then, Cr Crichlow said day-trippers and local workers who previously parked at the Broadwater site could instead use Carey Park, opposite Australia Fair. When Premier Anna Bligh opens the redeveloped parkland next January, it will feature a tidal swimming pool twice the size of the existing lagoon, public-access jetties, a boat ramp, children's play areas and water features. But the Gold Coast City Council and State Government, which are funding the upgrade, are no closer to agreeing on whether coffee shops will be permitted to operate within the precinct. Cr Crichlow is pushing for the construction of some food and drink outlets

2008 New Attractions to keep crowds coming
mattcrombie replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Very Interesting I Have attached the article from the paper. Sounds very promising. -
I wouldn't mind a Dive Coaster like Griffon too. After seeing it on that TV special, I'm real keen to ride a Dive Coaster. 10 people in a row! I didnt know that. But I cant see them installing one or theming it to any ride.

2008 New Attractions to keep crowds coming
mattcrombie replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Hey Gazza I tried looking for the Paper from Last week, but its been thrown away. It was in Last Weeks Hinterland Sun if anyone still has it. I should have cut it out, but i read it when i was at work. -
I read an article in the Local Hinterland Sun Paper About all the Warner Village Parks John Menzies was talking about how they won the award for the year for The Out Back Adventure and how the parks will be changing each year to keep drawing customers back each time. So do to that, they mentioned they will be adding the latest and cutting edge attractions to keep up with there standards. He mentioned 2008 would bring a HUGE year with alot of changes and developments in place and exciting new rides, attractions and exhibits will be coming. They said they are in the process of choosing the correct rides for each park, and there will be information about them in the next few months. They didn't mention any rides or anything in the article, just a picture of John in front of the Seaworld eye, saying its time for old to go, and time for the new to come. I think this would have been decided a while ago with the rides and attractions choice, but this is for the paper and general public, so they just keep it quiet.

I was reading some news about this new coaster going in at Knotts Berry Farm called Pony Express. The layout looks alot more fun than the motocoaster and is from Vekoma. even though its shorter, still more turns and speed. http://www.screamscape.com/html/knott_s_berry_farm.htm

Dracula's new 2007 Haunted House Attraction
mattcrombie replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Firstly The scariness Factor is nothing like a Dreamworld walk through. I think the real people make a HUGE impact on there type of walk throughs they have had in the past like Tomb Raider and Mummy. This one is more or less like a museum of horror items but with some scary stuff. Some things I remember is: A Mirror Room Giant Spider Mummified Meter maids fighting over a Meter to pay it. 1 door did freak me out, it was scared me with the Air in your face suddenly. Most things are done by sensors They also Copy Pirates of the Caribbean in 1 level 1 level is a Morgue/ice room of bodies Last bit is Shark themed. Im not going to spoil this bit, its probably the only good bit. -
Dracula's new 2007 Haunted House Attraction
mattcrombie replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Hey guys I went to the Haunted House on Friday night, and all I can say is I'm really disappointed. It Cost $23 an Adult You start buy walking into a similar waiting area when you watch the Haunted Mansion ride in Disneyland Its all themed out with wall paper, pictures on the walls and glowing lamps. There is a Big Mirror too. The Mirror then lights up with some man from one of the shows introducing the house. Its Badly done and doesn't set the story at all. The Elevator then arrives and Dings and you hop in. It is all themed out to a old style one with bars looking like your going underground and all noises. Then a large amount of air is Pushed on you. Its built onto 5 levels I don't wanna spoil it all, but there are mirror rooms, and dare doors for the people who want a more scary path. Alot of the house is full on artifact rather then scary things like dreamworlds past haunted season attractions. Also some didnt even work, the interactive ones. Something that made me angry with and spoiled the "underground story and feeling" was you have to exit each level through the fire exits...then go down the stairs to each level. It made it not so fun and also you loose the themed feeling. In the End, it took us 30-45 mins to walk through. I give it a 6 out of 10. Infinity is way better for a walk through Attraction This could be made better -
I ment to say I read it a while back, But people were talking about it last week around work and heard from friends.

Hey Guys. I actually heard about these Disney Staff coming out to Australia not long ago from someone i know who works for the government. They Mentioned they were looking at land at Coomera and all the info that Ethan talks about is actually correct. I also read this article in last weeks paper and thought to myself..... Could this be true...... Well from all the plans in the past and rumors. It may be just another one to add. But in saying that.... I dont know anything else on this and its going to be kept TOP secret until its launched to the media from Disney. Not getting my hopes up.. But thinking positively I do think, that this "Rumor/goss or what ever its called" could be true and a great addition. Im going to keep my eyes peeled for anything in the papers or news in the future.

Mick Doohan Motocoaster construction discussion
mattcrombie replied to AugustVonPolen's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I have heard many mixed responses about this new Coaster. Many clients and people from other states here on holidays tell me about the Moto Coaster and how they have seen it Promoted everywhere and were so excited and wrapped to ride it from all the hype on TV, radio and other media and only to have been let down. They basically have told me how it looks pathetic and like a Children's ride. Even the parents tell me this. I'm in no rush to ride this at all. I'm really disappointed, but nothing I can do. Lets hope something more thrilling and better in the Future.
