Adventure World 2015 - 'Mi2' Kraken Tornado slide

From Adventure World's Throwback Thursday: -
Theme Park Maths: So if VRTP had 400 000 season pass members and they charged an extra $50 a year they could build a new Superman Escape every year?!
-
Yeah, as an interstate visitor there's no real value in that discount. It's not like I'm going to make the trip if there's nothing new to see. I would much rather pay $150 for my season pass, like I do for Adventure World, and they build stuff more often. Unleash the CAPEX!

Perkins Construction appear to be building the new attraction (they also helped with Abyss). Their offices have magically appeared in the car park, near the Season Pass Members' gate. -
Thanks for the TR Alex. I think their Lion King show is good, but AK's is better with its acrobats.
-
The Paris one is a lot different. I didn't mind it, but I know a lot of people who hate it. Is the MK one still single file?
-
HK Disneyland certainly has one of the prettiest locations for a Disneyland. I think it's on a scale with the original park, just with a lot fewer rides. I hate it when they count a water fountain as an attraction. It's still worth visiting. I think their Tomorrowland looks very cool. I always get picked for the Stitch Encounter (especially if you sit at the back row, right hand side of the theatre). It's great when you throw them off script..

We can start speculating even more now that we know it's a 'mega water slide'. What are Proslide Mammoth water slides like? I like the look of the dueling one at Jamberoo. http://www.proslide.com/rides/mammoth/ -

It's all over for another season (we had the Anzac Day holiday today). From AW's website: https://www.facebook.com/AdventureWorldOfficialPage -
Rachel, that's excellent that they converted your video tapes for you. It's an amazing story and reminds us how we've all got a lot invested in our theme parks. That's pretty cool of your folks taking you to a theme park like Wonderland every couple of weeks. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Thanks for sharing Rachel. Great footage - interesting to see how the park looked and operated - pictures don't do it justice. You obviously have a lot of happy memories of the place. Good interview too. 11 years closed.

Yeah - it's scary when Adventure World's kids' area is better..

I miss the Wild Mouse. They used to have an ad that said it wasn't the Royal Show without the Wild Mouse - they were right. -

Busier than I expected at Adventure World today - probably because it was open and a lot of shops weren't. The dry rides like the Grand Prix Raceway had quite a long wait. Abyss, running two trains, was a 5 minute queue for the front seats and no wait for the back row. The voice was back on again inside the show building. Outside, it looks like a Guardian has taken a tumble and is resting by the main building. The lawns look well trimmed. The fallen crow on the roof of Below Zero has magically disappeared (it would be nice to have something up there for the riders of the chair lift). They also have a coin pressing machine for the Abyss. Freefall was down for some major repairs. It was stripped of its seats. The animals at the Aussie Wildlife Experience were active - saw the little joey eating food whilst still in its mother's pouch. The wombat and one of the koalas were also running around their enclosures. It's great that they've got that announcement 5 minutes before a show is about to start so people can make their way there, especially considering that they wouldn't have their watches on if they were swimming. Had a 'The Chief' burger - with two patties and bacon - it was very filling. The shelter at the top of the hill has disappeared and awaits the next attraction. Had a great day showing a friend around who had not been there in twenty years. He couldn't believe how big Abyss was and commented on how Adventure World was more like the Gold Coast parks now. -

Most probably. I'm at the park at the moment and will check it out later. The water looks cold. -
Weird little bit of ANZAC history. Luna Park Cairo was actually used as an auxiliary hospital by the ANZACs in World War One. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luna_Park,_Cairo

I actually think a lot of parks undersell the 'live theatre' aspect - the anything can happen and probably will bit. What was it for you djrappa? I remember being really surprised by a large crowd of people following a Cougar around the park (pretty sure it wasn't a Tiger).

There were two. I actually thought they'd gone by the mid 90s. -

Looks like Screamscape has picked up Megan's TR from Adventure World. What got me is the 'rarely seen' bit. Really, because every other CEO is busy posting on enthusiast forums? That's the real story. -
Yeah, unfortunately I visited Fox Backlot Studios.
-
So if it was 1999, which park would you visit? Wonderland?
-
^ More like thirty months. I prefer MW just for the themeing alone. I have some friends who aren't coaster fans and was worried they wouldn't enjoy themselves. They found plenty to do with the cast of characters wandering down main street. Only if 90s' Movie World still existed..

A good view of the toboggans and the little monorail features in Adventure World's latest 'Throwback Thursday'. This is pretty much where the new slide is going to go. -
I'd forgotten they had those old 'inner tubes' - well spotted. Maybe they should have bought their tubes from these guys? http://www.tubeproinc.com/

You would know..
