  1. I do have to agree that this is the worst night I've experienced with FN so far. In saying that, I'm getting ready to head back down there again and see how they go on night 2 in the hope that it was just first night jitters on their part. I remember last year to keep the queue moving there was like 15-30 people going in a maze at once wasn't there? Maybe I'm imagining it but this last night they did groups of 7-10 people and you were getting nowhere. I'll be going back each weekend as I've got the season pass anyway, but hopefully I have better news to report later this evening. Anyone want to know anything in particular and I'll keep my eye out?
  2. And you're expecting the public to go "ah so there's a total of 6/7 cars on the ride, let me just go back at watch that video again to see how many were there on track at the time and how abrupt the stop was then add in the extra cars on the ride that may or may not be there when I go and I'll use that to make a sound judgement of my possible enjoyment of the ride before I go to the park" ???????? Maybe the doctors need to tighten the straps on your jacket for a while.
  3. Given that the last person leaves the park around 11/11:30, they probably don't want to have staff on til 1/2am.
  4. Is that confirmed though? Or are you just going by the guesses in this thread?
  5. Ah of course! Thanks!
  6. Not really. I only know it would be rougher because I've been on it. Any random who hasn't seen/been on the ride probably doesn't even know there's more cars that could be on the track hitting that brake run.
  7. He did. That's why he skipped the parts where he was wrong.
  8. Interesting. That's actually a lot smoother of a stop than usual for that brake run. As mentioned earlier, if you're the last car and the station is full and a car or 2 are already sitting on the brake run, you've got less stopping distance so of course the force would be stronger. While the parks are in competition with each other, it's not that often you'd find one full and the other empty. (DW/MW) they all offer similar yet different things.
  9. Don't forget, USA has how many other parks to contend with? The parks we have on the coast have a pretty captive audience. Sure, you could always fly elsewhere to get better service, but realistically most people aren't going to take that option. So while the parks over there need to get everything perfect/really high standard and deal with much larger crowds, the parks here know that they don't have to work as hard to draw a crowd and people will always just come back another day. Could you share the POV please? Re the last car - I thought it was a rotation thing. There's always 1 or 2 off the track for maintenance so they can keep the ride going while working on them, then just keep swapping them for working ones. By the time they've worked through them all, they need to start again. Might be wrong on that though.
  10. Oh. My. God. Got to the park at 6:15. Joined the queue for Evil Within at 6:30. Entered the maze at 8:45. We weren't even anywhere near the end of the queue. I really hope for their sake it was just first night teething issues. The queue rarely moved and the fastpass queue was along the edge of the building and around the corner as well. The maze itself was great. Clearly they did a lot of work with it and it shows. Wasn't a huge fan of the repeated safe-head guy and feel like they could have thrown something else in there instead. The chick with all the arms is cool though and the revolving saw is a nice touch. Next stop was going to be GL, but that was closed. So it was a walk over to a very confusing line for Scooby and the Clown maze - scooby had a line at the normal door, and down the escape path. Not sure what the main line was for as the escape path one seemed to be the correct one. (I'll come back to that), Feeling pretty pissed off at this stage. We walked around to the Ripper maze as we deemed the clown queue too long to be bothered and we'd already spent 2.5 hours standing still. That line was massive so we wandered back to the locker then back to Scooby. - Yes I say every year it's the same experience day/night, but we hadn't been to the park since fright night last year, the queue was moving pretty quick and I wanted to check out the disco room now that the lasers have been replaced. It looks great now and much better and darker than it used to be in the pre-disco room area. The disco room itself, while mostly smoke free looks great with all the lasers. I do miss the cone after the first drop though. After Scooby we went to queue for the Ripper. Thank god that was a fast queue. That wasn't a scare maze. That was a bunch of women dressed as olden day hookers with a bunch of guys in there who seemed to have wandered over from an Abraham Lincoln look-alike contest. There was nothing jumping out, there was nothing scary, there was nothing......entertaining about that maze. Even the clown maze, was better. So after that disappointment we went to the Clown maze which was almost a walk-on. (Uses the old Gremlin queue) Took maybe 5mins to get on (by this time it was about 10:10pm) - Basic maze, reused set from previous years, but for people who freak out over clowns, they'd shit themselves. Haven't had a chance to do Wolf Creek yet, might head back down tomorrow and check it out. This time with a better plan of attack. Less smoke around the SE area this time, maybe due to the accidents in previous years (someone usually seems to trip on the kerb at least once per visit) Main street was fairly modest smoke, still seems a bit less than previous years. Evil queue - 2.5hrs from this point (blue x).... the red x is where the queue was when we came out, so I can only assume 3-3.5 hours for that one from there. Scooby's queue.... Can someone tell me what used to be in this building? There seems to be doors numbered 7 & 9 (no idea what happened to 8) and some doors further down with metal stairs I assume may have either been a ride exit or an emergency ride exit at some point in the park's history? Anyway, overall, based on this night alone, I'd give the experience a 4/10 with maybe the Evil maze pushing it up to a 6/10. Had I not done the EW maze, a 4/10 would be a very generous score. I hope I can go back and give a better score in the coming weeks.
  11. Now that's not very nice, is it. Youtube comments. But if it's on the internet, it must be true, right? Swing and a miss. Genuine question, can you provide more examples than the one you listed about the girl being on the phone?
  12. Glad they went all out on that one.... Lol, in saying that, I don't really see the point of sticking the maze at the games expo. Yes it's related to the game, but doesn't really seem like a good fit. Better off just having a dark room with the game on display and people dressed up inside that.
  13. maybe try the flash uploader? testing both here and it's seems to work fine. (Chrome 37.0.2062.124 m)

  15. Re the photos - Did you remember to hit "attach this file" after choosing it? As for the topic- it's normal for trip reports to pop up as a topic. I would suggest making the ride titles bold though so it's easier to read Can't say I've been or have any intention of going, but it does sound like from the reports I've seen that they've done a reasonable good job with the park.
  16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRGd0gD0QNE Nope, wouldn't criticise them for being too efficient, would somewhat criticise some parks for having a somewhat free-for-all in the station (SFMM comes to mind) - here we have orderly lines to the gates, they have a big open station which sorts itself out so I guess it's not too bad, just different. Nice Alex makes very long posts. Nice Alex also illustrates very good points. Pissed off Alex is more fun though
  17. How many ops did they have then to now? Assuming a 2 train operation then, would we have had 1 grouper, 2 loaders and 1 supervisor? Or was it 1 grouper, 2 loaders, 2 supervisors (one in each booth)? Or something completely different? Now it's 1 loader who also does the loading, 1 extra loader and 1 supervisor isn't it? And how popular is AA these days? I haven't been to the park in quite a while. (Heading there tonight for FN though) - what's the average wait for AA now?
  18. And me not riding it is relevant because.....? That wasn't ever in question. What was in question was your comment on how by watching the POV you could tell how comfy a ride was. Then you've admitted you're just going by other peoples reactions in youtube comments. Not entirely sure what you're meaning with a ride ops union? The only thing I remember from GL is in the last brake run, sometimes it's an abrupt stop. Nothing that hurts. No coaster is perfectly smooth anyway. Sure some will be smoother than others, but you're always going to be bumped around a bit. Anyone who thinks otherwise should probably stay within their bubble wrapped house.
  19. Do you know if there was a specific reason for that? Wasn't the ride still pretty popular then?
  20. I thought we were still taking the piss out of the other guy?
  21. Imagine how fast they'd be if you even said "please"?!
  22. In a perfect world, it's not. But spend a day at a park on the coast and you'll see what we mean.
  23. But how long can that entertainment value last? Surely it could only be a few minutes. Again?
  24. And there you go. "You can actually tell" .... no, what you mean to say is "you can blindly follow what people say in youtube comments"
