Six Flags Magic Mountain review and pics
Yea I had hard time getting the harness to drop down too and had to actually jump and push it down before I stood there, and I'm 70kgs. It wasn't that bad that I missed it really, to use it on the flashpass iirc you have to pay an extra fee (after already spending 150+ on the pass) and it turns out the ride was only open for around 3hrs in the morning, which was before I even got there. Overheard the photo attendants at Tatsu saying it was too windy to keep it open but the wind kept dropping and coming back and they just got sick of opening and closing it all the time. Which would they be sorry? Silverbullet and Batman? If so, only one of them was by somewhat of a choice.

Six Flags Magic Mountain review and pics
Today I review my new favourite park ever. Six Flags Magic Mountain. So the day didn't get off to the best start as on the way out the relatives decided it would be great to stop at targer. We have those in Aus for shits sake. Anyway we got to the park around midday for lunch. Now as I don't really remember what order we did what, I will write this review in order of the rides listed on the SFMM website. But first I must mention something my awesome wife did for me. We were in the line for Ninja (already waited 40min or so) and get this call from her telling me while we were in line she decided to go and buy me a platinum flash pass. YAY!!! Basically what that does is cut the queue times for all the rides from 2hr+ to 2-5 minutes. On to the review. Apocalypse - A nice wooden coaster, (used to be Terminator) still has nothing on Ghostrider though. It was still good fun it just lacked that pants-packing feeling of Ghostrider. Atom Smasher - Matterhorn ride. Can't say I actually remember seeing this one in the park. Batman The Ride - Looked pretty cool but was closed for the construction of Green Lantern (at least I think that was the reason) Buccaneer - Pirate ship. I was considering riding but then remembered the amount of coaster I was there to ride Canyon Blaster - Looney Tunes themed coaster which I didn't go on as I didn't actually wander through the kids area. Colossus - A nice fun dueling wooden coaster - surprised the track is still standing with the noise it makes, especially on the chain. We figured if it managed to stay in one piece to the top, we'd surely be deaf by the time we got there. Cyclone 500 - Go Kart upcharge. I think it was about $8 which wasn't too bad but I didn't go on. Deja-Vu - Wasn't available on the flashpass so we didn't bother waiting in the queue, I mean sure the ride looked cool but the queue-to-track-length ratio wasn't worth it for the time we had. Daffy's Adventure Tours - One of those school bus ride things for the kids. Dive Devil - Sky Swing upcharge thing. Was either $8 or $15 I think. Elmer's Weather Balloons - A not-too-well themed balloon ride for kids. Foghorn Leghorn's Barn and Railway - Kids train ride. Goldrusher - Another one not on the flashpass so it was passed up. Looked to be a junior coaster winding through some trees. Goliath - That was fun. ~137kph down a 26 storey drop into an underground tunnel. What's not to love? Pretty decent ride time on that one too as well as nice fast chain to get to the top of the 1.3km track. Loved it. Grand Carousel - Well it goes around and around and well....yea. Green Lantern - The track looks pretty cool because it's so different to a normal coaster, should be a good spin-and-spew coaster once it opens in a couple of days. Grinder Gearworks - Pretty sure this was also closed due to GL. Not really sure what type of ride it is. Looks like a gravatron in the open but you're strapped in? Jet Stream - Log flume in the cold? No thanks. Seems a lot of people felt that way too with a maybe 5 person deep queue. Log Jammer - Another flume.... wait, there was two? Merrie Melodies Carousel - Kid version of the main one. Ninja - You know, this ride was good as it was something different. Not really sure of the correct name for it, but I think rollercoaster tycoon always referred to them as a suspended swinging coaster or something. So yea that's basically what it does. You sit in the little car with not much needed for a restraint although they give you an over-the-shoulder harness. After riding, which I might add was maybe 40sec I really can't see what would have warranted the 50minute queue. Also, those poor bloody ride ops of that one. The guy would have been about 50+ and for each train he launched the speach was the same. "Welcome to Ninja! Hi-yaaa, hi-ya, hi-ya.... for EACH CARRIAGE that passed his booth. Not only that he was saying "Welcome back and thanks for riding Ninja, hi-yaaaaa!" Pepe Le Pew's Tea Party - Kids teacup ride. Reveloution - Wasn't sure if this one was running or not but somehow we never stumbled past the entrance. It's (I think) the world's first looping coaster. Road Runner Express - I think it might have been rethemed from something else, but yea it's a kids coaster. Roaring Rapids - Surprisingly for a rapids ride, didn't have a decent viewing area that I could find. Again there was no queue for a water ride. Sandblasters - Dodgems. Didn't even notice it really. Scrambler - One of those travelling type rides that always seemed to be called Sizzler. Scream - A floorless coaster. It was a great ride and I would do it again but the floorless part didn't really seem to add much to the ride. It just felt like a wide sitting coaster. I didn't even really notice my feet flying around at all. Sky Tower - Would have done it, but no real time. (Observation tower) Superman Escape from Krypton - Think a dual TOT2 but a bit faster and higher. Didn't bother as we have a close equilvilant here. Swashbuckler - Chair-o-plane I didn't know existed. Sylvester's Pounce and Bounce - A kids bounce tower thing. Tatsu - Mmmmmmm one hell of a ride. Coastergasam? This now tops my list as favourite coaster ever. Suprassing the title previously help by Ghostrider. I don't know where to start with this ride. It was amazing from start to finish. The only thing I didn't like about this was the amount of gum that was on the catwalk up the lift chain. Everything else was awesome. The initial feeling of being lifted into the lying down position was weird and that feeling of flight you get is unbelievable. Taz's Trucking Co. - A kids truck ride. Just like vintacge cars but trucks. The Looney Tunes Lodge - A kids play zone. The Riddler's Revenge - AKA The Ball Crusher - Don't ride this if you plan on having kids any time soon. Also don't make the mistake of jumping like the poor bastard did in front of me who had to stay in a lifted up position for the ride duration which is around 3 minutes of ball destroying madness. For anyone who doesn't know, it's the worlds tallest and fastest stand up coaster and it's an excellent ride. The first time we queue for this it got stuck on the chain and took about 30min - 45min to reset while the people had to sit there waiting. I liked the ride and it was actually really smooth. Tidal Wave - This wasn't closed, I don't think, but it never seemed to go anywhere and there seemed to be some people waiting at the station. There was a few curious people waiting to see if it did anything. Oh yea, while we were waiting a family of ducks wandered past. Tweety's Escape - Cage ride thing for kids. Viper - Managed to get front row with no wait thanks to the flashpass. It was also an excellent and exhillerating ride, even though up the top it was so damn cold I thought ice would form on the track As part of the rides 7 inversions, it boasts the world's tallest vertical loop standing at 14 stories and another two at 9 and 6 stories. X2 - I don't do spin-&-spew rides and this coaster was no exception. As well as that due to the wind it was being opened and closed throughout the day and was not on the flashpass. Yosemite Sam's Flight School - Kids up-and-down aeroplane ride. Overall: 10/10 Rides: 10/10 Food: 9/10 - I don't remember what we ate, but I know it was good. Theming: 8/10 There wasn't too much theming however they make excellent use of the trees and landscape to make up for it. I would love to live over there and work at the park. I'd say if I had the money and was single I would do so. And now for the pics.

Knotts Berry Farm review & pics.
This took a while for me to get around to posting the review, I did have intentions of having them all done last week but some stuff came up. Anyway, enjoy Knotts Berry Farm - The first non-Disney stop on the trip. Initial impressions? Not good. But for some reason I walked into the park and didn't even notice Ghostrider off in the distance. Yea, I don't know how I missed it either. After wandering around the park a bit my impressions quickly changed. For such an old park, it isn't really showing its age too much. Anyway, firstly to get there we took a bus from near the hotel which cost us $1.50 each way. Turns out $1.50 will get you anywhere on the route one way. Pretty damn cheap. Anyway back to the park. As we were travelling with kids, we spent a bit of time in Camp Snoopy. Pretty decent place for kids with a mix of rides to keep them entertained. Not really much else to review about it. I didn't bother with Sierra Sidewinder as it wasn't really a drawcard for me. There is one place there I'm not really sure if it's in Camp Snoopy or just past it but there was a building there which would have previously housed some kind of coaster but has now been turned into a food outlet. Any ideas what was there? Fiesta Village is your young teen type area with a couple of carnival type rides as well as Montezooma's Revenge which was closed at the time, even if it was open, for what it does I don't really think I would have bothered to wait through that queue. On to the rides I did go on, and firstly Jaguar. For a kids ride it's actually pretty decent. Almost 800m of track winds around some trees and through the loop of one of the rides. I was actually really impressed with the ride. Xcelerator - I really liked this one. Think superman escape but 130kph in 2.3sec and 62m high. Very good fun and if time allowed I would have ridden it many more times. Ghostrider. At this point, my new favourite coaster (keep in mind I hadn't done SFMM yet). This is the only coaster I've ever been on (incl SFMM) that has given me the "OMG holy crap I'm going to die!" feeling on. It was an unbelievable ride. First wooden coaster I've been on and the experience is something I recommend every coaster fan do. Unfortunately due to time contraints I could only do all these rides once. I wouldn't have minded riding Windseeker however that would have been a little difficult as the tower wasn't even finished being constructed. Not really sure how to describe the ride, so I'll let Knotts do that "WindSeeker will feature 32, 2-person gondolas that will ascend to a height of 301 feet. Once it has reached the top of the tower, WindSeeker will spread it's metal arms swinging riders for a 60 second flight at a 45 degree angle at a speed of 8 rotations per minute." Not really much else was done at the park apart from eat at the "Coasters" cafe. Pretty decent standard theme park food. The rest of the rides there were either closed, too busy (Silver bullet had a wait of over an hour and a half or I would have done that) or water rides which it was too damn cold for. Overall: 8/10 (Thanks to Ghostrider) Rides: 8/10 (Again thanks to Ghostrider and Xcelerator) Food: 7/10 Theming: 6/10 (Really the only themed area is Ghost Town but it's done well) And some pictures...

Disneyland review and pics
I did actually. Lets start with Splash, it was cold. It's a water ride. End of story lol. Although it did have probably the shortest queue in the park. Space mountain - The first day I was there with my wife I didn't want to be running off to all the coasters and leaving her waiting around by herself and when we went back to Disneyland a few days later I mostly forgot about it but then figured nothing was going to top how much I loved Ghostrider and Tatsu so I didn't mind missing it too much. BTMR - I swear this is the ride I am not allowed to ride. I take you back to 2003, we go to disneyland and there was just something about that ride then that I wanted to ride it. Unfortunately we went there just a few months after the accident and it was still closed. This time as with Space I didn't want to leave Steph standing alone in the park so I didn't go on it. As we were walking past the ride later that day, there was no queue so she told me to go ride it so I went to the queue only to discover the ride was broken down. Bugger. So that's ok, I was going back in a few days I'll do it then. Turns out the guy I spoke to on the phone from Disneyland before I left was wrong, BTMR was scheduled for more maintenance this year........ right from the first day we were back in the park. *I was going to post a review of Knotts tonight but ran out of time, so stay tuned hopefully tomorrow.*

Disneyland review and pics
First review so go easy in the comments This would make it my 2nd trip to Disneyland, the first was in 2003 when I was younger and before I was really in to rides. We got to LA on a Friday and we were supposed to be spending the day recovering from jet lag but as we weren't feeling the effects and we had settled into the hotel room we decided to spend half the day at Disneyland (~1pm-11pm). We made the right choice visiting then, the longest we had to wait for a ride was 20mins. On to the park and the first thing we did was jump on the train. It was a nice ride around the park and I must say the Grand Canyon segment was excellent. Not really much more to say - it's what you'd expect from a train ride. I really don't remember what we did in what order after that so I'll just post overall thought from here on. Autopia - my wife's favourite ride now. She isn't that big on themeparks but some things she will go on. Autopia is like the vintage cars at Dreamworld except you have a bit of freedom in the steering of them. Those cars are surprisingly hard to steer assuming you don't just want to bump off the rail for the whole circuit (which can also be quite fun!). The whole ride took about 5 minutes. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters - Pretty good fun and I like the idea of it being a non-stop ride. The cars never stop moving and you board and depart via a moving walkway. You then sit in a little car and shoot targets with a laser gun (not like laser tag - you dont see beams) It seems easy at first to score points, then it's all down hill from there, I scored 20k in the first room you get to then by the end of the ride only managed to score 41k total. I must have been doing something wrong, but it's hard to target something with 6 or so other people pointing their dot at the same place. Monorail - Yep it's a monorail, what more can I say? Indiana Jones. Now that's a ride. I went on as a single rider and asked the guy at the start of the queue what to do as I'm a single rider. He gave me a card and told me to walk all the way down the exit path to the ride. He wasn't kidding when he said "all the way down". That's a good hundred meters of queue. No wonder the queue itself was 2hrs. It was a rather good, bumpy ride in the dark. If I had time I would do it again. Now you might say I did have the time as I was there 4 days, but we went with relatives who had kids so we ended up running out of time sometimes. Jungle Cruise - a nice family ride, so basic yet so entertaining just sitting there looking at all the animatronics as you cruise past. It's a small world...... is still stuck in my damn head! It was nice and entertaining even if the ride got stuck (we went on during the fireworks and there was a total of maybe 6 people on the ride then when we came out 15mins later the queue was packed). Dunno what happened but all the empty boats jammed and there was a couple of staff in there trying to hold them back and separate them without falling into the water. Matterhorn bobsleds - It's alright but I don't really think the massive queue is necessary as far as coasters go it doesn't really do much but spiral down to the bottom of the mountain, but I guess it's a classic. Finding Nemo - Wasn't too bad for a semi-submersible ride, however I'm a fairly short person but you can tell this is for kids because I found I had to duck to be able to see out the portholes of the ride. The smell on this ride is horrible but I guess you get that with all those sweaty people in such a confined area. Pretty decent effects and storyline although some was a little confusing and seemed rushed at the end. Almost like they made the ride, got to the end and though "oh crap we forgot half the story". Car Toon Spin - This for some reason I really really liked, the queue theming was awesome and was in excellent condition. The queue does actually wind around a surprising amount but it didn't seem all that bad due to the impressive theming. Star Tours - We were not supposed to be on this one. When we tried to get into the park in the morning they couldn't work out how to process our pre-purchased tickets so they gave us a 'attraction re ride voucher' or something - basically lets you skip the queue for one ride. We took it to the ops of Star Tours who were supposed to be only letting people on with annual passes. A couple of us were carrying cameras (2x DSLR & a video camera) and we heard the op say to the trainee as they let us on "they must be media and got the pass to check it out" thought it was pretty funny. It was an excellent ride and I would have done it a few times if I wanted to stand in a 3hr queue (some days was open to public). Storybook Land Canal Boats - Simple little ride, nice for the kids. You cruise through the water passing little mini buildings while being told a story about them all. Food - We had lunch at the Big Thunder Mountain BBQ which was awesome. It was all you can eat ribs and chicken along with muffins and drinks. All for about $22pp. It's no wonder american's are overweight lol. It was actually pretty hard finding a food shop you'd expect in a park in OZ. Overall experience and feelings toward Disneyland: Theming 10/10 Wait Times 7/10 - even at 45min+ the queue theming helps Food 8/10 Rides 9/10 Overall 9/10 - I think it needs more rides for adults (yes I know that's what DCA is for but we'll get to that review later. And now for some pics which had to be done via photobucket as the Parkz attachment system doesn't like me

Would anyone be interested?
well I didn't expect 4 'yes' straight away. If I get time tonight I'll put up a review of Disneyland. I should know enough to review it, I was there 4 days lol

Would anyone be interested?
1 - In doing some kind of meet up once the new rides are open / fright nights etc. Or would it be as unsuccessful as previous meets? 2 - Should I go to the effort of posting reviews of Disneyland, DCA, SFMM, Knotts, Legoland, Seaworld or would no one really care enough to read them?

- 2 new rides for Dreamworld in 2011
Guys I just heard from a friend of a friend of a sister's boyfriend's cousin's nephew that the real reason it's down is that Nickelodeon was pissed DW was removing all their theming from the park that they came in one night and sabotaged it! True Story- Knotts Berry Farm
Sounds like a challenge! But seriously, I've been trying to work out what ride was in this building, now from memory, it was either just before camp snoopy or just after (as if you just walked into the park) I'm thinking more just after. It's now a food outlet in what used to be the station for a ride. It's a 2 storey building with a ramp and stairs on the left side (looking at it from the doorway, although I'd say this door was added to the front of the building when it became a food shop. The ride left from upstairs. My guess is a coaster of some sort as it says max load 24ppl. I think there was another sign saying the building max ppl was 236.- No more Nickelodeon at Dreamworld?
Why not do what all the US parks do and have each ride and attraction sponsored by a company? Eg: Seaworld AU - "Eveready Dolphin" Dolphin show Disneyland CA - "Chevron" for Autopia SFMM - random brands sponsor each different ride.- Disneyland Star Tours 3D
When I was there, they were alternating between passholders only and general public (depending on the day) fortunately I managed to get on using a readmission pass they gave us at the gate for dicking around with our tickets (prepaid via travel agent before we left and they couldnt work out how to issue our tickets) I wont be able to post pics until I get back (after 13th). At the moment I'm currently looking at a nice view from our hotel room on the top level of treasue island in vegas.- Disneyland Star Tours 3D
Just got back to the hotel from trying this out tonight and I must say I'm very impressed. The theming in the queue is excellent and pretty funny and the ride itself (motion simulator) is really well done. It's a much better and more up to date system than movieworld is using (obviously) and it can give you the feeling you are actually flying fast forward and coming to a sudden stop. The ride isn't supposed to be open until next month but they're opening it early before the grand opening to make sure there's no problems with it. I can hopefully put some pics up later.- 2 new rides for Dreamworld in 2011
^^ What's that? ^^ Well, I know it's a building but where from and how does it relate to the quote about painting it green? - 2 new rides for Dreamworld in 2011
