Dreamworld Memorial & Reopening discussion
Reanimated35 replied to JaggedJanine's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I believe they did say that all the issues were related to staff safety, not guest safety. The Park will open again soon with a large amount of changes, the majority of those being focused around the safety and security of workers as the majority (if not all) customer areas were fine. There would really be only one or two stand out changes I can think of that most people would easily spot. -

It's like suicide barriers on a bridge. Not enough to stop you if you're really going to do it, but enough to make you stop and think about it a bit longer. -

Dreamworld Memorial & Reopening discussion

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/dreamworld-ordered-to-upgrade-maintenance-standards-on-rollercoaster/news-story/a9d038c2a293337d1e58f6a6ec04db9b Dreamworld has been ordered to upgrade safety and maintenance standards on one of its popular roller-coasters, after government inspectors found three serious faults with the BuzzSaw rollercoaster. Dreamworld’s chief executive Craig Davidson confirmed eight “improvement notices” had been issued to the park over minor matters, but three “prohibition notices” had also been ordered. WHSQ defines prohibition notices as requiring immediate action. Three prohibition notices related to the BuzzSaw ride, including a concern with “maintenance safety harness anchor points on the BuzzSaw”, a “maintenance procedure error” relating to a safety chain on the same ride, and a requirement to add an extra “interlock gate” for the operator’s control booth for the ride. Mr Davidson said all WHSQ notices would be addressed before WhiteWater World and Dreamworld reopened. -

With all the other changes they've done in the last few weeks and the stuff they haven't done yet I'd say it's pretty low priority, but with a couple of weeks to go before reopening, they've got time to do it. -

Any chance of asking this lucky owner to provide you some photos you could share? -
Australia doesn't really seem to have much going on in the way of news. Look at the front page of News corp at the moment: > Creating fear over the potential for the worst natural disaster ever > Some new air con thing > Celebrity news > Some chicks rack > More celebrity bullshit > Some guy killed his girlfriend > Celebrity news Australian journalism is pretty pathetic at the best of times, but theme park incidents are just another opportunity to spread fear among the soccer mums. .

A quick loop at the end followed by a flume style splashdown should sort that for you -

Dreamworld Memorial & Reopening discussion

Makes a lot more sense now. I'm all for the idea of the gardens, but IMO it could still use some kind of gimmick in the garden. Maybe the park name or something, I don't know what, just something. -

Does Dreamworld open late enough often enough to warrant that cost? What could they put in the garden to make it photo worthy? Disney obviously has Mickey, anything fancy you'd want to see for Dreamworld? The green wall may not have been ideal, but to me it looks like something I'd expect to come across in an ESL country, rather than Australia. -

This was sent to me today by a friend of a friend of a sisters dogs cousin I know. Looks like some new signage has gone up at Dreamworld. Personally I'm not a fan. -

13 hours of play isn't so bad for one day. Time to stop now.

Cheers. Just like RCT3, for now I don't really have any interest in career mode, or probably ever really opening the park. Yeah it's a "Magic Katz" ride. The park so far....

@pin142 - why would I want fencing on everything? Triggers are fun but can be a pain in the ass if you add something in later. The next thing I'm working on.....

^ How long til this photo ends up on TV as being a shot of the ride "stuck"?

Other's I believe are in use as part of the JL3D theming, and I think there may have been one or two things pop up at fright night, but I haven't been able to confirm that.
