  1. ^Photo credit for the above goes to Dreamworld via their Facebook page.

  4. Sorry for the phone quality image on this one, but I'd already packed up my stuff and was on the way out. Looks like they're having a naming issue. Is it "Crazy Coaster" or "Spinning Coaster" ? [edit - IP Board seems to think this image should be upside down]
  5. Went to the Ekka tonight. Not a bad show but there's a lot missing from previous years. Anyway, here's one of the photos. I took a total of 275, 5 turned out reasonably well.
  6. Oh my bad. I thought it was a Disk'O. (never actually been near it) In that case, yes since Intamin consider it to be one, it's a coaster.
  7. Well I don't think anyone has confirmed for us yet if the ride is in fact still standing or if it's just the track. Wouldn't a ride SBNO mean that with a clean and a few buttons the ride could be functional again? As in it's just closed in the way that bermuda was? This was more broken down and never fixed for whatever reason.
  8. You're right, the manufacturer doesn't consider it a coaster. It's a Disk'O, not a Disk'O Coaster like shockwave
  9. If that's what the manufacturer calls it, then yes.
  10. At least they were polite with the response rather than just brushing you off.
  11. I tend to agree with the manufacturers with most of these. ToT - Coaster (Intamin Shuttle Coaster - interesting to note they seem to have stopped making them - or I couldn't find it on their site) Storm - Coaster (Mack Water Coaster) WWF - Log Flume/Flume* (I guess it doesn't have to be logs anymore) *Not sure what the manufacturer calls it, but to me it's a flume Shockwave - Coaster* (Not in my opinion, I'd consider it a flat, but Zamp says otherwise) Surfrider - Not a coaster
  12. Can we just move on from with the bullshit about how "this ride is going to suck" or "they should have done something else" and just discuss the bloody ride for what it is. This isn't some family ride marketed as a thrill ride. This isn't a thrll ride marketed as a family ride. This isn't yet another SBNO ride. And this isn't going to go away and suddenly become something else because 20 or so people on a forum said they don't like it.
  13. And we have an official opening Dreamworld Australia 3 mins · WIPEOUT RE-OPENS After 20 years of service and 7 million riders, Dreamworld’s iconic Wipeout will re-open today after undergoing a major facelift. The WIPEOUT’s relaunch is the first installment to Dreamworld’s makeover of OCEAN PARADE, also home to THE CLAW, SHOCK WAVE, FLOWRIDER, CYCLONE and ZOMBIE EVILUTION. TAIL SPIN – Dreamworld’s BIG 9 THRILL RIDE . As the newest addition of Dreamworld’s world-famous THRILL RIDE slate, the TAIL SPIN now officially transforms the Big 8 to Big 9 Thrill Rides alongside the TOWER OF TERROR II, GIANT DROP, BUZZ SAW, CLAW, WIPEOUT, MOTOCOASTER, PANDAMONIUM AND THE CYCLONE ROLLER COASTER.
  14. Cheers for the photos Anyone know what they would have been doing/trying to do where all the paint has been stripped back to white at the start of the corkscrews?
  15. Please. From me, if you get a chance, would you mind getting some shots of the lake looking from the show seating area, a shot of the area around the lighthouse, then a shot of the land reclamation please?
  16. LOL! You really think because they got rid of the train that they'd really go to the effort of removing the track??
  17. Complete scrap metal now. They could sell off some parts to collectors. IMO they should have also mapped it and created mini models of it
  18. You'd rather keep an unpopular fair ride and retheme it than replace it with one that's already proven to be more popular? Dreamworld can't win here. I've been overly critical of them in the past, but I'm starting to see some good in them recently. They just can't win on here, we hate them when they don't try and we hate them when they do. Their target market isn't the enthusiast market, it's to have happy people from all walks of life go and spend money to enjoy themselves in the park. They realise that they don't need Disney style theming to pull that off and that's what keeps their investors happy.
  19. To clarify on that, I wasn't meaning for RD to be replaced with a coaster, I was just meaning overall for the park to get a new coaster over a spin-n-spew. Those of you saying Panda doesn't fit in, what would you have put there instead?
  20. While I don't go in for the spin n spews, I have to admit, panda has been done really well and I'm with you Flea, it's great to see an addition like that. Not everyone who goes to the park wants the most thrilling thing they've ever been on. They need to cater to a wider demographic and I think they've done well there. And while Tailspin isn't the coaster we were all hoping for, it's a good addition in the space they had to work with and given that it's a choose your own adventure ride it should be a hit. I just hope they theme it well and don't give up on it.
  21. Well it's good to see it up and running again. It does sound a bit different , I think I preferred the old sounds. (Going by the DW video)
  22. Ardent own M9, M9 uses Delta Strike gear, so it would be pretty stupid to go source another manufacturers gear when they can just order some more from the company they already deal with.
