No storage boxes at Jet rescue. They have short term lockers near the entrance. Franny Adams I think you are better off getting an all day locker at all the parks. For $10 for the whole day, it just makes it that much easier to walk around without the hassles of taking a bag with you. It only takes a few minutes to walk back to the locker from anywhere in any park.

We did Dreamworld 3 times and got the Q4U for two of those days. The second time we got it we only needed it for TT2 and Thunder River. The rest of the rides were almost walk straight on. Riding The Claw in the rain was great fun too!!

I just spent 3 days at Movieworld over the past 2 weeks. We were getting there at 9.45am and lining up at the Superman line, but when they opened the line up we would go straight to Arkham rather then Superman Escape as EVERYONE else would go to SE first. Green Lantern straight after that and then walk up to Wild West Falls to walk straight on there. We found that you could do SE at any time of the day as the line moved pretty quickly as they were running 2 cars. As for Scooby Doo, well we just lined up for that. There were certainly plenty of people at Movieworld each day, but we didn't miss out on anything at all.

What does it take to be a Looney Tunes character?
Hendo replied to kujotess's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Probably need to be able to put up with pushy parents, mongrel kids and blistering heat I suppose!!! -
Saw this on Movieworlds web site today......... Maintenance Safety is the highest priority for Movie World and maintenance is an essential part of that. The following rides and attractions will benefit from maintenance over the coming weeks: GREEN LANTERN Coaster will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 3rd February 2014 and will re-open Monday 17th February 2014. BATWING Spaceshot will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 3rd March 2014 and will re-open Monday 24th March 2014. SUPERMAN Escape will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 28th April 2014 and will re-open Monday 9th June 2014. ARKHAM ASYLUM Coaster will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 9th June 2014 and will re-open Monday 30th June 2014. Kids’ WB! Fun Zone: ROADRUNNER Rollercoaster will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 24th February 2014 and will re-open Monday 31st March 2014. Pounce'n'Bounce will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 5th May 2014 and will re-open Monday 26th May 2014. TWEETY Carousel will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 26th May 2014 and will re-open Monday 9th June 2014.

Thanks for your replies. I forgot to ask about the Q4U passes at Dreamworld. Are they worth it? (It will cost me $75 per day for the family).

Hello everyone, My family and I are heading to the Gold Coast in 2 weeks time for 2 weeks at the parks. We have VIP tickets and also Dreamworld/WWW Holiday World passes (the 28 day ones). We usually go every second year in either February or March and enjoy the parks during their quieter times. We know it's going to be pretty busy up there and my request is that if there are people going to the parks over the next 2 weeks, could they post on here how busy it is each day and perhaps ride waiting times. It doesn't matter which park as we will be going to them all a number of times. Thank you in advance.

How was the day lolman123? Did your brother like Dreamworld?
-
Being 7, your little brother might also like the Avis Vintage cars. My kids loved them. He can "Steer" and use the accelerator while you sit next to him. There's usually not much of a line up either. Also, Escape from Madagascar is a cool little roller coast for younger people. (Adults can go on it too) It just depends how tall he is, and you might want to try him on that before you get him on Mick Doohan Motor Coaster. Don't forget MAD Jungle Jam. It's awesome for kids. You will spend most of your time collecting the balls for him to shoot, but it's worth is. From experience, don't try and get your brother onto the biggest rides first off, or it may wreck the whole day. My 2 kids have grown up going to the parks and what you may think is an easy ride, might scare the crap out of them. Have a great day on Monday.

I haven't had anyone be rude to me in the parks, but what I do hate is when there's a group of people in front of me lined up and then a couple of their friends turn up and jump the line. That's something that really annoys me.

If you have to hire a locker everytime you want to ride SE because you won't get an all day locker, then that IS a waste of time. I never said it was a bother to carry a bag around, what I did say (or meant) was that it is much easier to leave your bag for the whole day in a locker. Put some cash in your pocket and off you go. As gbalby96 said, if you get a locker near the photo centre, it's in the middle of the park. People are going to walk past it a number of times in the day anyway. I have no issues with anyone who wants to pay for a locker each time they ride SE. I'm just putting a reason across why I don't do it and maybe someone out there might take it on board.

I know I am going to upset a lot of people here, but I think if Movieworld want to charge for lockers a Superman Escape then I have no problem with that. After all, they are in business to make money and there's obviously a demand for it because they have had these lockers for many years now. Why do people want to spend the whole day walking around with their bags etc. It's so much easier to get an all day locker and then you don't have to worry that you have left something behind on a ride or at a show. Take some cash in your pocket. No one is going to see a $20 note in your pocket as you are getting on Superman Escape. I've done that many times. I don't think this topic will ever go away.

We had our bag checked one day at Movieworld and we had our lunch (bread rolls) in the bag. We didn't have them hidden and he saw them. All he said was "Thank you" and we were on our way.

Wanner Bros Movie World attractions recommendation
Hendo replied to Jay Jay The Jet Plane's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If you are there with a friend and don't mind sitting in different carriages on Superman, then both of you say you are single riders. You will get more rides that way. -
Wet n Wild usually have all their slides open during February and March other than the spa pools. They usually only run one side of a slide that has 2 of them like the Sidewinders, but you shouldn't have any trouble using the whole park. It's a hard call to make when to go if you can't/don't want to go during peak season. On a positive note, when you go during February or March, you will will go on a lot more rides and slides than during peak time, it's just that the variety will be less. An example of how good it is during off peak, year my family and I (2 kids) went in the last 2 weeks in March. My daughters teacher set her a project to keep a record of every ride we went on. So if all 4 of us went on Scooby Doo together for example, that would be 4 rides. Bearing in mind that the whole family are ride junkies, and we spent 12 out of our 14 days at the 5 parks at the goldy, we actually did over 700 rides in total. My kids did Road Runner Roller Coaster 20 times in one day, 7 of which they didn't even have to get out of their seats. They just kept going and going. During that time Leathal weapon was closed and was being changed to Arkem, Batman Ride was closed being changed to Justice League , and Batman spaceshot was closed for maintenance. So even if you go and some of the big rides are closed, you will still be able to have an awesome time. good luck.

Superman is usually closed in February. In 2012 it was closed from 07 February to 20 February. I know this as I actually wrote it down and a piece of paper on my computer and still have it. Over the years I've noticed that Superman is usually closed for 2 weeks in February, but from memory which weeks they are is usually different. It's the reason why we holiday there in March . We don't care about any other ride that is closed, as long as we get to ride Superman.

Great news to hear about this new ride. Does anyone know what age limits it is aimed at?
-
Well my thoughts on the lockers are .................... Na only joking. Back on topic, I would like to see something done in the area that leeds into the old Leathal Weapon area (yes I know it's not called that anymore) as you walk through Chinatown and there's a fairly large area that use to have the old line up areas for LW and a couple of cars parked there. I know it's been re painted, but from what I understand it's still an empty space. I haven't been there for 14 months. It's not big enough for a ride, so maybe a building that holds a walk thru type attraction??? Maybe an undercover area where they can put old movie props in so people could get up and close with them??? Maybe a building to house more $10 lockers!!!!! ooops, sorry. Couldn't resist that one. Seriously though, it seem a fairly large waste of space that could absorb more people during the peak periods. Any thoughts???

Hey guys, I just read in a previous post that Movieworld has approval to expand into the carpark. Is this correct???

things you remember and miss from the gold coast theme parks
Hendo replied to JeffreyMoore's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Happy staff and being able to take your own lunch in...... Well the question doesn't say it has to be a ride!!!!! -
Yep, totally agree. If there were issues with the people getting out of the first raft, couldn't the attendant step into the water and create a barrier between the first raft and the second and at that time also assist the people who are having the trouble? I remember many years ago that WnW used to let you ride down the water slides in with a partner on a mat. Ahh the good old days before OH&S.

Wet n Wild sued for traumatic Aqualoop ride
Hendo replied to westical's topic in Theme Park Discussion
You only have to stand there for 5 minutes and watch the slide to know that not everyone makes it over the top. What a joke. Soon we will have to sign a contract before they close the door on the Aqua Loop giving Wet n Wild indemnity if you don't make it over the loop. I wonder if I can sue because I have never won a race on the Aqua Racer??? And I think the Black Hole is too dark. Hmmm, there are so many cases I could sue for. I could become a millionaire!!! -
Thanks for the update. Great pics as well.

I just wanted to get everyones opinion as to what is the best time to go to the Australian parks. If you read my post that I put on here last week, you will know that my family and I just spent 2 weeks at the Gold Coast and spent all our time at the parks. We had a great time, but with many attractions closed for maintenance etc. we were wondering what is the best time to go to the parks. Off Season??? We have only done the parks in the off season, (usually February or March) as we feel that the extra amount of rides/slides we get to have compensates for the lack of variety of the rides/slides available (due to maintenance etc). On Season??? Is it better to go during peak holiday season as EVERYTHING (well almost everything) is open? Are you getting the same experience having fewer rides/slides, but getting more of a variety? Any ideas???
