  1. I think it may be the old Bullens Animal World. ( I think that's what it was called). I can't remember much about it but I remember the highlight of the place was riding a real Camel. There were plenty of other animals to look at but not much else to do as I recall.
  2. Just a hint, make sure you get to Movieworld as it is opening. That way you can get a whole heap of rides in early before the crowds start to arrive. That way the rest of the day can be spent taking the rest of the park in and you won't miss out on anything.
  3. I just got an email back from MW Guest Services about the current maintenance page. This is what it says, "I can confirm that the Maintenance schedule on the website is now correct."
  4. I'm with you themparkgc. My heart stopped when I first saw the maintenance page because my family and I will be at the parks in March and I'd just pre-purchased all of our tickets. I hope they have the page spot on now because everything worth going on will be running.
  5. Getting so many rides in one day is a reflection on some of the great staff they have at MW. Especially on the 'lesser' rides. If there is no-one waiting (or only 1 or 2 people) the ride attendant asks if you want to go again. The kids really love it and and if you are a parent then you know they are having fun which keeps everyone happy. There aren't too many positive things said about the staff there so I would like to say well done!! PS. My kids are planning on breaking their 19 runs on Road Runner next time we are there!!!
  6. I've probably been on it over 30 times. One day my son and I went on it 7 times in a row. It was great fun but not good for the neck!!! Just a bit off topic, my kids went on Road Runner roller coaster 19 times in one day. Movie World is great when you go out of holiday season.
  7. I'd do all of the above and do something with china town that you walk through to go to Lethal Weapon. Turn it into actual shops (dunno what kind) and where the original entry used to be for LW (when it was so popular you had to line up outside) level it and turn the area into and grassed picnic area. I'd also fit in some sort of Harry Potter themed area. Just like they are building in the US, but maybe a tenth of it's size. Maybe a walk through type of attraction with plenty of special affects to bring the magic alive. I'd also get rid of the arcade ( leave the dodgems there though) and all the money grabbing ( carny ) activities out the front and turn that area into a real wild west town with plenty of actors roaming all day. That will do me for the moment. I have plenty of ideas.
  8. I'll answer this with my kids answers. 1) Road Runner 2) All the rides in kids WB fun zone. 3) The staff are always good to the kids 4) It's worth going there because mum and dad pay for it. 5) As kids, we wish we lived there!!!!
  9. Well done. It looks great. I tried to do the same but yours is amazing. The main street is really well done.
  10. Lethal Weapon maintenance has been extended to 20 July now. Any ideas why?
  11. Guys the point I was trying to make was that it's so obvious that MW are just making another grab for money. The park hours have reduced and the effects on the rides have also been cut back ( something that you guys seem to complain about every day) and now they are expecting us to dig even deeper for cash. Everybody knows that going to these types of parks is expensive and you expect to pay premium prices for everything, but banning food? I wish I hadn't mentioned what else they should put on the menu because it seems to have upset everybody.
  12. OK. I'll give you those two but it's still a rip off.
  13. My wife is already sewing a false bottom into our backpack!!! It's so unfair to be ripped off AGAIN after paying huge amounts of money just to get in. I have 4 people to feed when I go there so that's another $50 for some poorly prepared food that tastes pretty crap. Not everybody eats burgers and chips so they should open a sandwich shop to add a bit of variety. Anyway, the security will have to dig deep into my backpack to find our food. I suppose they will try and kick us out when they see us eating it. What else will they start charging us for? Maybe they will put a price on the glasses for Shrek, or charging us a water surcharge for the Wild West Ride or even paying for each powerslide from HSD (the more money we throw out, the more they will do to help pay for their tyres).
  14. Batman is a great 'family' ride. It's a ride that my whole family can enjoy together, which isn't available with every attraction there. Sure it could use a spruce up, but most kids can't see anything wrong with the ride at all. I think we should remember that Movie World is a 'family' park and to rip it down for another extreme attraction would be wrong. My idea is to keep Batman, and spend some cash on another ride for the more experienced attendee.
  15. While they are fixing Lethal Weapon they should pull down the entrance/movie theatre and fill the wasted space with something better than concrete. Ooops. That would mean they have to spend more money on the park!!
  16. This year Superman was closed for maintenance in February and it's closed again now. I thought it was strange to close it twice in only a few months. Does anybody know what's going on with it?
  17. I've noticed that Superman is closed again for maintenance. It was closed not long ago for the same thing? Does it normally close a couple of times a year for work?
  18. Bargain! I'd buy it but I don't think it would fit in my box trailer to get it home.
  19. I'm with you Klassen24. Being negative all the time isn't doing these forums or the parks any justice. I live 1000km's away from the Gold Coast and only visit once a year. I like to keep up to date as to what is happening there so I like to read this web site, but lately it's all negative. When my kids and I ride the rides we won't be looking for extra smoke or listening to how loud the music is. We are there to have fun. I do agree with some of the comments that skimping on effects is pretty unfair, but come on guys, smoke and music? Come on everybody, chill out and be happy again.
  20. Yes I have 2 children and it costs me to get into the gates, and I am still required to pay for "extras". I'd rather go into a park where I can spend the whole day there and not have my wallet "double dipped". I can't see these types of things make too much extra for them as families like mine will skimp on other things (such as food and merchandise) to afford to pay for the extras.
  21. I think it's fine without any pre show. The line moves pretty quickly and it's good to have 2 or 3 rides in a row without all the showbiz. Batman and his crew could spend a bit more time there to add too the experience though. I think it's fine without any pre show. 22. I remember the Einstein shack. It wasn't too bad but like the Young Einstein movies they made, it's gone and forgotten!!!
