Went to Movieworld today to ride JL as well as Arkham Asylum, as I haven't been to Movieworld since March. It was surprisingly busy today with some queues reaching 45min. Superman Escape (1 ride) Superman was open for the morning and i got a quick ride in on the third row. Fast and packed with airtime, as always, and all the effects were working. Unfortunately the ride broke down at midday and remained closed for the remainder of the day. Green Lantern (2 rides) Got two rides in, both times audio wasn't working. I've never had a ride where the audio worked. Justice League (3 rides) Ride was walk-on all day. Fantastic theming and an overall very immersive ride. In some parts of the ride the spores didn't light up, and on my first ride some of the screens were out of sync with the movement of the ride, but otherwise everything seemed to be working. I got a pathetic high score of 49,000. Batwing (1 ride) Had a fairly long queue all day. Was running great with insane airtime at the top of the initial launch. Remains the best S&S tower ride I've ridden. Scooby Doo (2 rides) Had shortish queues all day. Axes weren't swinging and the spiral laser at the end of the ride wasn't working. Wild West Falls (3 rides) Had a short queue at the start of the day and then remained a walk-on for the afternoon. Has become one of my favourites in the park, a perfect mix of theming and thrill IMO. All effects appeared to be working, though the screen with the hillbilly on the final lift was out of sync with the audio. Not sure if its always been like that. Arkham Asylum (3 rides) Was broken down for the morning but thankfully opened later on. I was totally blown away by the transformation! Without the distraction of head banging, I took time to notice the fantastic layout and surprising intensity SLCs contain. While I rated Lethal Weapon a 3/10, I'd rate Arkham Asylum an 8/10. Seriously. I experienced none of the thigh pain that people complained about. It was tight, but never painful on the legs. My only complaint is the RIDICULOUS "don't touch your seatbelt" rule. With the attendants doing up every single person's seatbelt, dispatches were only around every 10 minutes. Also, they didn't let people queue behind the air gates before the last train of riders was empty, then the riders behind the air gates waited another minute looking at an empty train before being let on. WTF?

Clearly Mack are building two water coasters, one at Movieworld and one in Sea World.

Am I the only one who is sick of Dolphin activists on Sea World's page? I get that they're against keeping dolphins in captivity, but they're not achieving anything by spamming the page with retarded posts that usually go "OMG TEH COVE RELESE TEH DOLFINZ!!1!!ONE!1"

Is demolition being done on the Volcano or are they keeping it for the coaster? It'd be nice if it were a well themed, enclosed water coaster like the one at Sea World Orlando rather than an open one like Poseidon at Europa Park, however the latter unfortunately is more likely.

It may look boring, but that coaster actually has some INSANE airtime on the back row on the large mid-ride drop. The rest of the ride is a little dull though. With Orphan Rocker I honestly feel like we're just waiting for it to rust and fall off the cliff lol. Flying Turns probably won't open any time soon, but it has a much higher chance of opening than Orphan Rocker.

That's true, but I've seen other Intamin accelerators with two stations work a bag holding station (Rita and Stealth in UK). You handed in your loose items to a "booth" as you enter and get a wristband. As you exit, you get your stuff back on the other side of the booth. Since Superman's stations are in line, this system could definitely work.

The SLC is beautifully presented, as is the rest of the park. Though I expect that both the Vekomas are pretty hellish besides their pretty appearances. The Intamin Drop Tower looks great though. And with a new Premier launched coaster (relocated Batman and Robin: The Chiller from Six Flags Great Adventure) opening there next year it may just be on my list of parks to visit.

True. I'd rather they removed the other one as it's apparently not as good as Log Jammer was, but it's situated under Ninja so building Full Throttle there would've been difficult. And erikals, to be fair SFMM has always been a thrill park. Also, Wet n Wild Las Vegas has just been announced by Village Roadshow.

^ It's already been removed. It's a shame, as far as I know it was working well and still fairly popular. Well, popular enough for people to get angry at it's removal. But to be fair Full Throttle looks amazing. Now Magic Mountain just needs to build a new flat ride, perhaps where Deja Vu used to be. ^^ Yeah I don't think they've actually built a knockoff yet. The one in the picture looks way too safe to be a knockoff

^ If I'm not mistaken, those are simply pictures of Chimelong Paradise's Motocoaster which is a genuine Vekoma? The pictures on the website are mainly of the type of rides that they're ripping off from the looks of it. EDIT: I just checked, the motocoaster that's being built in China is actually being built by a different knockoff company. http://www.rcdb.com/m/10631.htm Also, if the knockoff trains are anything like the Vekoma ones, they're actually much more comfortable than the Intamin ones on Dreamworld's Motocoaster.

I suppose, mainly because its not as long I can see huge potential for an accident on this thing though, especially since a coaster made by the same company recently derailed, and that was just an Arrow loopscrew knock off! I hear they're also building a knockoff of the Vekoma Motocoasters.

Projekt Helix looks absolutely awesome. I've heard awesome things about Blue Fire and this looks even better. Liseberg is high on my bucket list, it looks like a beautiful park. Plus they have Balder. You'd be surprised how much head banging straight track can deliver. That's been proven on plenty of Arrow and Vekoma coasters I've ridden. Plus whatever head banging you'd get, even if it's just a few blows, would probably hurt like hell.

Well I guess you'd feel safer with the OTSR's as I wouldn't trust their lap bars, but can you imagine how much head banging this thing will deliver?

Wycernuros, your "philosophy" on watersides is frankly the dumbest thing I have ever read on this forum. So you're basically saying that a trip down a waterslide is about as fun as walking down the stairs you walked up? Do you expect some "location" at the end of your journey or something? A park in China is getting a knockoff version of a Maurer Sohne Skyloop built by a dodgy Chinese company. So basically, for anyone who doesn't know much about coasters, it'll be a potentially lethal knockoff version of Buzzsaw. Interestingly, kids from my school have been complaining about how "boring" and "stupid" JL is because it doesn't go fast or throw you around. Some GP are unappreciative and don't realize the effort and money that goes into theming.

I was sort of referring to WWF. I haven't ridden WWF since the refurb so it's probably much better now, but it definitely looked a bit worn when I was last there. I was unaware of the refurb though, so that's good to hear. I'm just going to admit my comment was stupid and exaggerated so I don't have to bother arguing. I hate arguing over the internet, especially when Im wrong.

Okay okay. I'm probably being unreasonable lol I appreciate that it's a great ride that's a lot more technically advanced and well themed than anything we have or have ever had here. I just really hope Movieworld don't live up to their reputation of letting rides deteriorate.

Hopefully Movieworld keeps Sally Corp on speed-dial for the life of this ride or I can see it going to shit real soon...

Wow, the Wet n Wild website really needs to be fixed. Apart from the no-picture problem thats been there for ages, the "thrillmeter" on every ride page is set to "chilled".

Village Roadshow are known for having atrocious PR. You just need to look at their websites or Facebook pages to realize that. So why are we surprised?
