Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy (Lethal Weapon Retheme)
alex_1 replied to ads086's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The line audio for AA is so painful, especially with the phenomenally slow loading times. Wonder if they'll get enough complaints to change the line audio like they did with Green Lantern. -
When exactly did Dreamworld ever have rides that "took you on a journey"? Also, Movieworld's rides are quite well themed - with the exception of Batwing and Green Lantern - Wild West Falls, Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster and Justice League 3D all take you "on a journey". As for the parks being overcrowded, you clearly haven't been to a properly busy park in the US or UK. Just because there's 1 hour queues doesn't mean they're going to stop admitting visitors to the park.

If I were looking for attention I'd probably use a different method than making up a fake date. And if you're referring to the end of the world thing, it was a joke.
-
On their Facebook page they said the 21st? Would be a good day to go for the grand opening when everyone else is locked in their bunkers awaiting the zombie apocalypse lol

I went to Dreamworld on Monday and saw Pandamonium testing all day with and without water dummies. On another note, Dreamworld is now my favourite park on the Gold Coast. One major factor in shifting my preference from Movieworld was the staff at Dreamworld. We got a really great ride op on Buzzsaw who was helping hype everyone up with creepy voices and asking everyone how their ride was, and was also very quick and efficient - Buzzsaw was a walk-on for most of the day. Monday was actually the first time i rode Buzzsaw, since on my last visit it was under maintenance, and I have to say it is probably my second favourite ride in the park after the Giant Drop. It was surprisingly VERY intense at the bottom of the drop and the station fly through created a great head chopper effect. However, the back seat is ROUGH. The shaking from it gave me a headache and a bit of a sore back. I wonder how rough Skywheel at Skyline Park runs, considering it's 7 years older than Buzzsaw.

Possible New Coaster for Luna Park Melbourne?

Good point. Does anyone know if the one at Luna Park is the same one that does travel the shows? -
Possible New Coaster for Luna Park Melbourne?
alex_1 replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That's simply the website of an operator who owns a Zamperla spinner under the name of Crazy Coaster. That is not the ride type. For example, Olympia Looping has a website but it's ride type isn't "Olympia Looping" its a Schwarzkopf Looper. -
Possible New Coaster for Luna Park Melbourne?
alex_1 replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I don't know why, but it pisses me off hugely when the coaster type is reffered to as a "Crazy Coaster". Neither Zamperla nor Reverchon ever reffered to these spinning mice as "Crazy Coasters". -
I believe they're meant to be themed to the fireworks cart that Po uses to fly over the wall in the movie.

Okay RWC, we know Communism is bad. No need to convince anyone here. -

Though this will be an interesting attraction that should attract Chinese tourists, it kind of pisses me off that a $500 million dollar rideless "theme park" can be built yet we can't get a coaster over $10 million or so to be built at any of our parks. -
That's because they make a lot of fairground rides. And I don't think Pandamonium looks cheap, its quite a cool looking ride and I like the way they themed it.
-
Really hope Pandamonium is open when I visit next monday (not tomorrow), they could possibly get the theming and electrics done in a week... Anyway, it looks very well themed. Also love the other touches Dreamworld are doing, real step in the right direction!

I'm pretty sure a $1 million attraction was suggested in a news article? A million is easily enough to buy a decent flat ride, then they could consider a coaster for 2014/2015. Aussie World is doing well, so a couple of large attractions isn't out of the equation, especially considering their recent additions - nobody expected 4 new family attractions for 2011 and 2012.

Movie World new ride: JUSTICE LEAGUE: Alien Invasion 3D.
alex_1 replied to mba2012's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^ That's the problem. The general public, especially kids my age, don't appreciate the ride because it's not a high thrill ride. I overheard a bunch of teenagers on the ride calling it gay and stupid.- 778 replies

I'm going to save my excitement until we see the extent of the actual theming plus the ride's layout, but I have to say it looks extremely promising.
-
Can't wait until track pieces arrive, though that's likely a few months away.
-
Good point. That was just an assumption on my behalf. Sorry.
-
Wow... that would actually fit the theme really well! I was wondering how they'd tie it in.
-
Yay, ride vehicle sneak peak.
-
You're basing your whole speculation of this ride's theme on the fact that a Seaworld park on the other side of the world owned by a completely different company is theming their new ride to the Antarctic. Just because Seaworld Orlando themes a ride to the Antarctic doesn't mean Seaworld Australia is going to do the same, just as Luna Park Melbourne aren't going to name a spinning coaster the Tickler just because Luna Park NYC did. Anyway, does anyone think it'd be ironic if the construction of this ride was hindered by today's storms considering its theme?
-
Oh fair enough. I suppose that gives them the freedom to create a new facade for a new theme. Panic attack over
-
Hope they build a new building for the coaster so it's enclosed. Maybe that'll push the date to September. I'd rather wait a few more months for a well themed ride.

Back on topic - for anyone who has doubts about the Zamperla Air Race, watch this from 7:00. Looks pretty fun if you ask me! As I said before, Zamperla make great flat rides. I really enjoy their Power Surge rides among others, so I have faith that this will be a great new addition to Dreamworld's already world class flat ride collection. Now they just need to work on their less than world class coaster collection
