You're not being too harsh, there're just being total idiots. It's good that they want to restore the trains, but they really need to at least make it clear they know what they are doing...

I was in Southport this morning. It looks really good from across the broadwater. Also, to add to conversation about height, it doesn't actually look much higher than other structures on the spit/in sea world.

Hopefully we will see some themeing popping up soon.

The lift hill of the Storm Coaster looks taller than Sea Viper from all angles. I honestly think it is slightly taller.

They will occasionally, especially when there is no one in the park. But I've found that it seems to break down whenever they have two trains running, though thats good, everyone leaves and you can walk right on when it's fixed.

Thats a really good demonstration. They have a fair bit of room to put in some good themeing for the ride and hopefully they do.

I was driving along through southport today, you can see the coaster clearly from the parklands, it also appears to be the tallest ride in the park. It's looking really exciting.

We don't know that they are already constructing it. The extent of images we have seen is an empty building, for all we know the building could still be empty.

I've been to Euro Disneyland. It's the only Disneyland I've been to so this may not be too accurate, but I found it an amazing place. It had this distinct atmosphere to it, one that was very different to all the areas surrounding, and the park seemed very full. And also, a place like Paris would be very good for a Disneyland like park IMO.

As much as I would like it extended I don't see it happening, especially given the time frame and the fact that they made a new trough out of concrete.

So... Since this is the off topic thread I thought I'd just mention this. According to a billboard outside Dreamworld, Dreamworld is no longer a theme park, but it instead where you can find a theme park. The billboard states "Australia's Biggest theme park: Only at Dreamworld." Another billboard states something else ended with "Only at Dreamworld." Also, as always, no pics from me.

TBH this just looks like a resurfacing. Maybe it is for that street market, but who knows. But it really doesn't look like an expansion of any sort...

I've just been to Sea World, and there has been some progress, but I didn't have a camera on me so no photos. The first supports have gone up, and by the look of their positioning they are for a banked turn underneath the lift hill, one has also gone up near where the final drop should be. So the ride should come up quite fast now

But isn't Dino Island closing this year? Unless it's some big B&M with awesome themeing (We wish...), I don't see a replacement taking until 2015. Unless it takes that long for the sand to settle where the land reclamation has been happening...

Do you seriously expect the QLD government to fund a theme park facelift if they are refusing to fund public health?

Why don't Village just buy Dreamworld? Though, then there would be no competition and we might not get as many new rides...

The parks normally close rides in the latter weeks of February. So if your coming in the earlier weeks that would be better. Also, just to mention, I find tuesdays seems to be the quietest day during the week, so look at going then. But again, most days in the week would be best.

Don't call someone an idiot. Makes you look like an idiot. And I would trust Linus more than you, I think we all would. I've heard that it's going to be closer to 3 minutes. Which may mean it's going to have a slower section somewhere.

So, someone is yet to question how much main street will be scaled down. I'm yet to work it out (gazza probably will before me) but I think they could probably fill up most of the building with the under cover area of main street. You then go outside when you get out of the undercover area of main street and you can circle around the fountain and then back under. The station could be at the end of main street and off to one side, maybe where the entrance to the kids area is located. And along the edge of the building would be the queue lines. This would push the attraction to one side of the building which would make the entrance closer the end north western corner of the building. Then where the path would be to go to the western area it would circle around and there would be a maintenance area where the stunt drivers would be. This would also give it access to a major access door at the eastern end of the building. Doing this it would probably make use of the most space. Also, the queue lines could be very well themed with cars in places along with some Movie World characters.

I've been looking through some videos of Mack Rides and it appears that a small drop, something which is semi-obvious in the images of the site, is common at the base if that final drop before the final splash down.

Thats interesting, it's not classified as being in the Kids WB Fun Zone. Though, where else would it be...

This is beginning to sound very hopeful! Especially with the fire effects, and the story line is finally being semi-revealed.
