Yeah, Adventure Parc is still down there (or at least it was in March).

^ I'd love to try something like that out. You could do an awful lot with it.

As far as I've been told, most of the farmland out behind the studios and WnW is owned by village Roadshow.

Parkz News Sea World's Sea Viper closes after 32 years
mba2012 replied to Parkz News's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It looks like they're being a bit more careful with removing the corkscrews, which could be a sign that they do want to do something with them. -
^ Yeah, as I said, I'm not sure. But you'd think they'd be a bit more happening if it's expected to be opening in 8 or so weeks?

I'm not 100% sure but when driving past WnW today it looked like there were some slide parts in place or at least on site.

Parkz News Sea World's Sea Viper closes after 32 years

My guess would be that it's where they've been finding (or were trying to find) cracks. It looks like they've stripped away the paint covering the major joins in the track. Hopefully the corkscrews aren't in too bad of a state, I'm hoping they'll do something like Alton Towers did with their corkscrew and set up the corkscrews on display at the front of the park. -
What is your dream B&M rollercoaster
mba2012 replied to Cooper Olsen's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I'd love to ride a launched flying coaster. Possibly themed to an aircraft carrier which is launching jets. -
There's a lot of fairly mild stuff at disneyland. One ride I'd certainly recommend is Haunted Mansion because its pretty gentle and my mum likes it

Village Roadshow and Sanderson set sights on Asia

Seems odd that Village Roadshow would operate a 20th Century Fox park since they have such close ties to TimeWarner. -

This is very sad news. Hopefully they'll be able to replace it with something just as good and iconic. -
How mini are we talking when we say "mini"? I'm visualising something very small, but I know that can't be right. I just couldn't see something like Kamikaze working very well if it was much smaller (although it may be possible, I haven't ridden it for a few years now).

MW Mini Driving School - Officially Confirmed
mba2012 replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If an adult (I'm assuming that this worker is an adult) was testing one of the cars that may mean parents might be able to be more involved in the ride than you would have though (as in they'd fit). -
It's probably easier for you to count which parks you haven't been to I've been to: Movie World Sea World Wet n Wild Gold Coast Dreamworld Disneyland Paris Legoland Billund Give me a few days and I can add Alton Towers to that list.

MW Mini Driving School - Officially Confirmed
mba2012 replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
By the look of the wall at the back, it isn't going to use up the entire building, so hopefully they can think up something good for the other part of the building (other than maintenance storage). Sadly it doesn't look like they'll be much room for people to watch what happens, unless they're planning to keep the hole in the wall. -
MW Mini Driving School - Officially Confirmed
mba2012 replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Personally, I don't think this will be too bad. I've been on the driving school ride at Legoland (a good 6 or so years ago) and from what I can remember it was pretty good fun. And parents looked like they enjoyed watching their kids drive around (almost) following to real road rules. It isn't the amazing family ride that LTRR was, but it shouldn't just be an entertainer for kids. -
I think that would have to make it an Australian VIP pass, since Queensland doesn't have a senate...

Breaking from the current conversation. Do any of the theme parks offer temporary jobs over the summer period? And if so, when would you be able to apply? I'm wanting to get a job because I'm currently broke...

Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster fire and lighting effects
mba2012 replied to Spotty's topic in Theme Park Discussion
This is some really interesting stuff. One thing I'd really like to know, how much of the rides are automated? What do you need to press to dispatch it, and do you need to manually release the harnesses? This is mainly relating to superman, but some info about the other rides would be cool to. -
What would you like to see at Gold Coast Theme Parks soon?
mba2012 replied to Santa07's topic in Theme Park Discussion
A Phantom/Haunted Manor style ride would be good IMO. It's different enough to SDSC, and it could fit in a smaller, more compact area if you wanted to. -
That was sort of my reasoning for asking the question. I though it'd be cool for either a big expansion of Movie World, or a whole new park.
-
Just wondering, does anyone know who owns all of the farmland out behind Australia Outback Spectacular? Is it all privately owned, or is it owned by Village Roadshow?

What would you like to see at Gold Coast Theme Parks soon?
mba2012 replied to Santa07's topic in Theme Park Discussion
So, back to the topic of new rides on the Gold Coast. I was in Disneyland Paris last week, and space mountain won as my favorite ride. It's a very different experience, and something I'd love to be able to see on the Gold Coast. I'd love to see it at movie world, there's plenty of space out behind scooby doo that a building of the right size could be built. And for the sake of a theme, Gravity would work really well IMO, it's a WB film, and the idea of dodging debris would fit in well with the movement of a roller coaster. So, that's my idea. -
I find I use a recent posts block on another site probably more than it's worth. It's far better than a recent topics block, because that doesn't necessarily show what discussions are currently active.
