MW Mini Driving School - Officially Confirmed

I know its not what we all wanted as a replacement for looney tunes but its probably gonna be a smash with the kids. It looks good. I loved the old cars ride at Currimbin sanctuary when I was a kid. I used to drag my parents there all the time. My little girls a bit young for these cars now but in a few years I imagine she will love them. -
I have got to say I am not very excited about this event. It doesnt do alot for me.

MacPark replied to Santa07's topic in Theme Park Discussion

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?
MacPark replied to WED99's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Scooby Doo is an indoor wild mouse coaster with some dark ride elements. Its still a coaster regardless -
Wettest water ride you've been on?
MacPark replied to coasterdude44's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I second this, I got so wet on Jurassic park at IOA that I might have well have jumped in a pool. -
Rumor is that the Nemo Subs wont be reopening again. Interesting to see what Disney are up to. The subs really are not that great considering how bad the lines are and how slow the loading is

This sounds very promising indeed

Seaworld have just created a website called Black Fish truth http://seaworld.com/truth/ A interesting read. Seaworlds PR were a bit slow but its a good counter I think.
-
I think that all the good seaworld do for the promotion of sealife and keeping the publics interest in marine life is fantastic. Without seaworld people wouldnt have as much knowledge.interest and the ablility to see all these amazing animals. Is it a little cruel to keep the orcas captive? Probably a little but the benifits that it bring for them as a species I believe far outways that. I have seem alot of people going crazy on other forums saying they will never visit seaworld again and all that kinda thing. I would think most these people are meateaters and wear lether shoes and are just making a knejerk reaction after watching the film. Ive seen the film and it does paint a sad picture but I bet someone could also create a pro seaworld documentry and look at all the great work they do with animal rehabilation, search and rescue and research. Its not going to stop me visting seaworld.

ill second that MM is a bit of a hole but it seems to be the only thing in the area for teens to do so they they all hang out there as if it was a shopping mall. (the place has its own police station lol) But its a great park when it comes to rides and the ops are pretty cool.

If staying at Anaheim you are very easily able to get to Knotts, Universal and Magic Mountain. If you have a rental car its very easy and if you need to catch busses there are many great shuttle services to all these places. 10 days is more than enough time to see all these places.

You probably are best off asking questions about what you want to know. I was there only last Saturday so im pretty up todate with the area.

things you remember and miss from the gold coast theme parks
MacPark replied to JeffreyMoore's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I miss main street at movie world not having a roof. Police Acadamy Looney Tunes RR And they should have left the wheel at seaworld. It just worked well. Magic Mountain at Miami -
Yup a really rough and boring coaster. 2 loops and then nothing but being shacken around.

Thoughts on my latest visit to the Gold Coast

Thats not cool. You dont own the locker or have legal agreement that its yours. I bet your going to be the first to complain when no locker is available and you cant go ride anything. Do you also leave your cinema food rubish all over the seat because you feel its your seat because you paid for it? -
Disney have taken it up a step for sure. Its so nice to see some non movie branded rides that are great.
-
I swear this locker topic comes up ever 2 months.

Thoughts on my latest visit to the Gold Coast

The in park dinning is probably the worst thing about the GC parks. I never eat a meal there, just the odd churro or icecream. Im not sure they need to fill the parks up with heaps of well know brands. They just need to create some food that is decent and not totaly over priced to the point where its poor value. I havent had a burger at the parks in a while but last time I paid around $10 for something that was around the size of a mcdonalds cheese burger and half as good with a coke and bad chips. I think I remember they changed their supplier since then so im not sure how they are now. I have also tried seaworlds horrible pizza that I believe was dominos or eagle boys and Dream worlds even worse pizza with a cardboard base. Dont even start me on coffee. You only need to train staff to use a machine to get something decent. Just heating the milk with the steam wand pouring it in doesnt create a good coffee. It just seemed to be be fail after fail with the parks so I gave up. I am not a food snob by any means but its just always bad when I have tried so now I dont. -
Yeah seems they really screwed that up. You need to catch that inpulse buy when people first come off and are still excited.

Hey Alex, First thing your going to have an amazing time. Ill start with the MGM, Having stayed there I can tell you there is no coaster there. You should try the coaster across the street at the New York, New York. [*]Which tickets work out to be the best value? Ie: Universal and SFMM have premium ticketing with front of the line options and universal also has the VIP experience as well - are these worth the additional premium? Will we get through the whole park in a single day without them? [*]The last time I went to Disney (before DCA was built) We spent 4 days in the park, and still missed little things we didn't know about. I'm not making that mistake this time and making a list of all the various things we want to make sure we catch while we're there - but how many days do you need on Disney property to cover everything (and get some re-rides in?) [*]Can SW and the Zoo be done in a day, Is there a combined ticket that is good value for the two of them? [*]What other (parkz related) attractions are there in Vegas that are worth checking out? [*]Any other hints and tips - parkz related or not while we're over there (such as shopping etc)

$500 million China theme park in Australia, NSW
MacPark replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
This will never happen and its a stupid idea. It will become another "new attraction/park" stpry that never resurfaces again. -
It really depends on the ride type. Looney Tunes was a story by nature so thats a given. Scooby they have done a good job for what is just a coaster and same for superman. I bet kids on these rides these days see they as big amazing stories with rides attacted to them. Its harder when your an adult. Disney do an amazing job because they are in the buisness of telling a story and have the budget to boot. The original DCA was a mess for exactly the reason that it was just a bunch of rides with no story. They have even fixed this and given it the Disney touch. I think our parks do a good job for the money they spend. Our parks really do hold up well in my opinion.
