  1. Thrillzone posted this >> "Watch Thrill Zone Australia as they might discover what has landed at Sea World. Will Sea World's new exhibit be a roaring success? or a prehistoric nightmare?"
  2. Its not only the dry parks that are closed - Wet 'n' Wild is closed also.
  3. Does anyone have any more recent photo's of the Dreamworks Experience, now that all the finishing touches should be done (ie. Shreks Faire Sign ect.).
  4. Another point I think is that the running costs in terms of staffing would be much greater here in Australia compared with that of the US parks, where their minimum wage is basically half that of ours. Same goes for the Asian parks in terms of staffing costs. Plus the Australian Dollar is strong at the moment which deters international visitors and encourages us to visit overseas loactions. Basically international guests wouldn't pay double to visit Disneyland/Universal here when they can get the same or better in there own backyard for a fraction of the price.
  5. Disneyland Australia rumor stories come up all the time,
  6. Thats way to small to be the LTRR - Its the Batman Building, The building isn't really small, It had to house the Library, The Batcave, the queue, The loading rooms and the Simulators themselves, which would have needed a bit of clear space around them for the movements
  7. Harvey Dent never have the safety spiel to begin with. It was always The Joker and Harley Quinn, and they were still doing it on Saturday, although the safety message about loose items now only plays once when the gates open to go to your seats, and it's only loud enough for those loading and the next group to load. Unlike previously when it was playing in a continuous loop that you could here from about s 10 minute wait away.
  8. How can you say its just as enjoyable without audio, if you haven't experienced with audio yet?
  9. Has anyone else noticed that they have covered the LED Logo on the fronts on the carriages with a transparent green plastic (I don't think they were always like that, though maybe I'm wrong). I'm guessing its so that the logo is still "complete" even if a few LED's aren't working. I think they should do the same to the large logo at the top of the drop, the last few weeks there have be large sections of the LED's not working on the left-side making it look tacky. If they covered it with the same transparent plastic the logo would always look complete and even with some of the lights not working the sign will be illuminatedby the remaing ones.
  10. In relation to the Marvin Rocket - I was there last week and they have finally "Hid" the fact that a ride used to be there, They have built a wall covering the ride area and painted it with a looney tunes mural and place the fibreglass daffy duck there as a sort of "photo-op", The control booth and queue buildings now blend into the mural painting aswell. The last few times i went they still had a sign up saying this ride is closed,
  11. They also could have put some more effort into the maps I think, considering they will be around for at least 5 months or so until the Spring attraction opens. They didn't add the new tower, or remove the china Town enterance, and if you look at the map its drawn as if you can't access Arkaham Asylum through the Superman area.
  12. Well if the lines were so long why didn't any of you take advantage of the Fast Track system?
  13. They'll probably bring out a few characters for the opening week. But in saying that Batman was hanging out around the Batwing for a while in the morning on Wednesday as well as the green lantern just outside the DC comics store near the entrance.
  14. The green tank would be the venom formula used by Bane. It's the predecessor to the Titan Formula.
  15. Yes I understand that, but there is no mention of "shock therapy" at all, even on the safety sign that shows the height restrictions and conditions list just says "Arkham Asylum" and the trains say "intensive treatment"
  16. I'm sure they will - Hopefully I'm still a little dissapointed with the lack of a set name for the ride though - The safety sign and entrance arch both just state the ride as "Arkham Asylum" and the actual train says "Arkham Asylum - Intensive Treatment" , the only mention of "Shock Therapy" is breifly made by the Joker during the safety messages - something like - "Are you pinheads, I mean patients ready for your dose of Shock Therapy". I asked the loaders while waiting for the train (it was stuck on the lifthill) about the naming, and she told me they were told only to refer to it as "Arkham Asylum" for the time being.
  17. It might be a bit rougher then it used to be but that's to be expected, I noticed though yesterday that its looking very faded and the mist and "flood scene" and still not working. The Blue dot is also not working (though I don't mind that being gone - I don't think to many people noticed it anyway)
  18. Each ride - Green Lantern, Superman and Scooby Doo can have fast track. Basically they are fast passes split into 15min time slots - 10:30-10:45 , 10:45-11:00 ect. each of these 15 mins has about 50 spaces so you go to fast track and receive the fast pass for the next time so if its 10am you can get a fast past for Green Lantern for the 10:45-11am time slot. so instead of lining up in the normal queue at 10am and riding at about 10:30 you can go onto another ride for example Superman and ride it while you wait for the 10:45 time slot. Then at 10:45 instead of queuing for the Green Lantern, you just go up the exit into a much shorter queue (less than 5-10mins) and ride it. Basically you are "virtual" queueing between 10 and 10:45 as you can't ride the Green Lantern between these times but can do anything else in the park during that time.
  19. I'd say its more about the cost of it, it is a lot of concrete to remove and level out, and it will make the area seem even bigger and more empty.
  20. They have the small "pre-show" if you could call it that playing on the TV on the guards head, which is a news report xplaining how the Joker has taken control of the Asylum ect. The audio loop explains who the characters are - so if you listen to it you will know what was happening - if you don't your the type of person who probably doesn't care about the theme anyway. and as for the old queue line outside, most of the rails seem to be removed - it's just the ones around the edges and on the actual ramps that remain, obviously for safety reasons
  21. I thought it looked normal, Another note - the old "Lethal Weapon" shop was open today - it is now a photo kiosk to buy the on ride photos from "Arkham Asylum"
  22. Thrillzone Australia's Facebook page seem to be making a big deal about this section of track - is it new or altered? - they state that this is a "special section"
  23. I highly doubt it, i think its more a cost factor of removing the concrete ramps. though another flat ride is needed at Movie World. Even just a simple octopus ride will improve the parks offerings. Theme it to another villian like the poison Ivy boss (also from the game) and your good to go
  24. just out of curiosity Cruiseshipfan, have you actually been on the Arkham Asylum ride yet or seen the themeing in person?
  25. Well it is a lot better than what was there before - a blank white iron wall. The queue is a huge improvment - used to be brick walls with Graffiti. The line audio is amuzing with Harley Quinn and Joker reading the safety messages (threatening to steal any designer handbags, glasses ect.) The operators have actual "costumes", not just polo tops with "Lethal Weapon" printed on it.
