  1. If Disney is not prepared to use Marvel in their own parks (other than meet & greets) I doubt they will have licensing agreements with Dreamworld to do so.
  2. I'm pretty sure Dreamworld has more than 7 rides (if 3 were down as stated, and only 4 left functioning).
  3. Not to much is happening at Movie World that is visible on nearmaps latest images, San Andreas filming is/was in full swing on the back-lot though (21 April and 25 June).
  4. Here is the Wipeout and new ride construction zone as of 25 June. The Big Brother compound is also being worked on in preparation for the 2014 season.
  5. I don't think there is any work happening on the cyclone, the temporary fencing is there as a result of the construction of the new slide. What part of the parks do you want to see? I don't think a single picture of each park will reveal much.
  6. Here is the Nearmap image of the construction zone as of 25 June.
  7. Wasn't it the same wheel that is now the "Wheel of Brisbane" at Southbank?
  8. Some young kids may not feel confident enough to tackle the full size slides and this will be a good introduction for them.
  9. It looks like it says drop zone, a drop zone is a designated place where skydivers land (could be the theme and name of the new ride) And reanimated the first couple of photos are clearly zoomed in or taken from the ocean parade update sign, of course they will be low quality.
  10. I honestly don't mind if it is a power-surge, I just hate how they are hyping it up as the Big9!
  11. I believe that's a young boy in the restraints, not a woman.
  12. I still wish they had put the effort into restoring the Looney Tunes Ride - the ride was a park classic and was still popular even if it was a little lacklustre in its final years.
  13. Looks like Dreamworld may finally be cleaning up its act*, literally! * Or could be a result of the cooler weather
  14. Here is the latest Nearmap image of the Wet 'n' Wild Jnr. Construction site, from 25th June. Not too much happening yet, but gives a sense of the size of the attraction.
  15. Godzilla? There is no way they would use Marvel characters in Movie World, nor would Disney ever allow it. And Transformers is already taken by Universal Parks.
  16. Exactly, I doubt a lot of the teens that ride Twilight Zone TOT have no Idea about the TV series. (the only reason I know is because I'm interested in theme-parks and take the time to look into these things).
  17. I disagree that Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster would work "better" if it was re-themed to the animated series, what would you do to achieve this? I do feel that they could have rides based on a generic movie theme. Like Wild West Falls, it is not in reference to any particular movie, but pays homage to the western genre of films.
  18. When it comes to film licensing we also have to remember that the parks are owned by Village Roadshow - they are no longer in any part owned by Time Warner (Warner Bros.). Village roadshow simply has a liscencing agreement with Timer Warner to use the Warner Bros. Brand name in/for the park. So just because Warner owns the rights to something, it does not mean that it can be automatically put into the park.
  19. That's were the mini fount of stars (water fountain from the front of Movie World) will be.
  20. Yes Ollivander's is still at Hogsmede, although they did close the joke shop (Zonko's) and expanded the candy store (Honeydukes) into its space. Ollivanders at Hogsmede was one of the major diversions the park made from the books (with permission from J.K Rowling), as Ollivanders in the books and films is only found in Diagon Alley, so they made the Hogsmede Ollivanders to be a sort of of local branch off the original location. And the interactive wand is not an upgrade of the Ollivanders experience its all new - When you buy a RFID chipped wand you can walk around the area and cast spells with the wand and see things happen all around Diagon Alley and Hogsmede. See Here >>
  21. How do you prefer your referencing - Harvard style or APA? Dots, D. (2014). Theme Park Rumours. Paducah, KY: Dippn' Dots LCC.
  22. Considering that the entire new land replaced 1 single ride (Jaws Ride) I think this is a huge improvement! * It now has a signature new ride (Gringotts Coaster) * The train ride going between the 2 parks * A range of highly themed shops (7 shops + a market area with stalls) (A huge range of theme-park exclusive merchandise) * Ollivanders Wand shop is basically an attraction/show in itself. * A Restaurant (Leaky Cauldron) and other food options * A stage with 2 different live shows performed throughout the day * An interactive wand experience (you purchased wands can be used to interactive with theme elements in both Harry Potter worlds)
  23. I know that both the Imagine Dolphin Show and the Fish Detectives shows are both in the process of being updated/changed, but it is a relatively long process as the have to retrain the animals (mainly the seals, as the dolphins just require a rearrangement of the skills they already possess).
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP_Cr0PNaEQ Here is the Gringotts scene from the movie - Looks like it was made to be turned into a ride.
