  1. Removed Comment (Don't won't pictures of my living-room, floating around forever )
  2. Easily, as I said in the other comments if you read them - They are all set to the one powerboard at one of the chairs, and I as I said I have to set each "effect" off manually by turning the power on or pressing the release button for the fog, as I want them. * Strobe Lights = Lightning, camera flashes etc. * Vibrating Seats = whenever the bass gets loud. (thunder, crashes, explosions) * Fog = onscreen smoke, clouds, etc. * Water = Splashes, etc. (Only very sparsely in a fine mist, as I don't want to soak a room full of electronics) * bubbles/foam = I've only used during the snowing scene in Narnia, and when the fairy god mother appears in Shrek 2. (the foam is too messy) As I said I don't do it very often and do it more for the kids enjoyment , not my own, so I don't get to focus on the movie as much as usual, but its great fun for the others watching.
  3. Haha yes, for those who may not know - Buttkicker = http://www.thebuttkicker.com/
  4. Yes, at the moment I have to manually set off each of the effects, which is a hassle and not that accurate. But I can't justify setting the computer program up for each movie, when we'll probably only do the whole 4D thing once per film. I'm looking into getting a Buttkicker though.
  5. I'm serious, It didn't cost that much at all. * 3D Tv about $900 * 3D Bluray Surround Sound $600 (when Clive Peters went into Liquidation) * Fog Machine $30 (From Aldi) * Strobe Lights $15 (From Dick Smiths). * Vibrating chairs (we got the couch reupholstered with Vibrating massage mats (from big w) under the material) * Entertaing Family and Friends... Priceless All the cords meet at a single powerboard and need to be set off manually during the movie. Though I would like to use a computer program later on to make this automatic (too much time and effort though) We obviously don't use it often and only set up the effects a few times a year for the kids to have a movie marathon with all their cousins over.
  6. I have a mini "4D Theatre" set up in my media room. I have a 51" 3D TV, a 7.1 Channel 3D Bluray surround sound system, Complete with a fog-machine, strobe lights, water mist jet, bubble/foam machine and vibrating seats.
  7. They haven't changed it that many times in the parks history: Marvin The Martian in 3D - 1997-2005 Shrek 4D - 2005-2010 Journey to the Centre of the Earth - 2010-2012 3 films in 15 years seems decent, to keep it relevant and up-to-date. and as I said earlier- "I personally think Journey to the centre of the earth was just a quick replacement they threw in when they lost the Dreamworks contract to Dreamworld. They had to remove Shrek 4D by a certain time and have a replacement in and running in a short time, the Journey 4D was in use in a number of parks and was probably the easy fix until a more permanent film was chosen."

  11. I've had great luck with Green Lantern's Audio - 8 for 8
  12. I personally think Journey to the centre of the earth was just a quick replacement they threw in when they lost the Dreamworks contract to Dreamworld. They had to remove Shrek 4D by a certain time and have a replacement in and running in a short time, the Journey 4D was in use in a number of parks and was probably the easy fix until a more permanent film was chosen. The film itself was very choppy and didn't have any continuity, the pre-show didn't make much sense either, But I think the 4D effects were used well. while on this topic, does anyone know whether the Shrek 4D at Movie World had the scent effect in use?? I know that in other parks (I think including Universal Singapore) the room fills with a candy scent when Gingy's house is shown. I don't have a very good sense of smell and didn't really notice it.
  13. There has been a lot of talk about it - Steven Speilberg confirmed in January this year that he will be on board as a producer. He also said himself he would actually like a remake now that he has the money technology to do so. The first film was a huge success but was very far from the original books storyline.
  14. On that note I think "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" might be the replacemnt - considering it is the sequel to Journey to the centre of the Earth, it was filmed in 3D and could easily be "converted" to add 4D effects.
  15. Quite a few movies are filmed in "native" 3D - Avatar Yogi Bear Resident Evil: Afterlife Sanctum The Final Destination Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Step up 3D Journey to the centre of the Earth Journery 2: The mysterious Island Tron Legacy Spy Kids 4 Just to name a few...
  16. Supertubes Hydrocoaster is the one at White Water World, in which RazzBerry reffered to in the comment of 4 parks. Djrappa the one you are reffering to that is closed is the speed-coaster which used to be where the Aqualoop is at Wet n Wild.
  17. Just re-asking, whether anyone has any updated photos they could share here, with the finishing touches completed on the Dreamworks Experience.
  18. Acutally Movie World has commented on their Facebook page in response to someone elses comment, that the upcoming attraction will be suitable for families
  19. How do you know its a ride logo? Exhibits have logos aswell, my guess would be a non-permanent dinosaur attraction for the winter school holidays.
  20. They had an anamatronic dinosaur exhibit at Underwaterworld (Mooloolaba) a few years back, marine parks must have a soft spot for dinosaurs.
  21. I find it odd that they no longer print the expiry date on the VIP and Season Passes, obviously its so they don't have to reprint when people renew them to save a few $$$.
  22. I agree, haven ridden Arkham Asylum multiple times, (even a few in a row), I have not once experienced any pain in my legs. once or twice i felt pressure as the bar tightened, but I just make sure that the lap bar isn't to tight to begin with. My friend who was riding with me felt more secure by pushing the bar in as tight as possible at the start of the ride, and yes she did regret it at the end complaining of excessive tightness. I think people just like something to niggle at with these things, even when it was the lethal weapon, I never experienced severe head banging, by holding your head back all the way as they tell you to do it really did stop much of the pain. a lot of people tended to let their head hang foward during the first drop and ince your heads out, with all the forces its hard to pull it in again.
  23. I agree, we'll just refer to it as "Arkham Asylum", but it just seems very unprofessional in the way its being marketed with so many different and conflicting names around the various places.
  24. Here are the names given for the ride in the different places ect. - Website attraction list - Arkham Asylum Shock Therapy Website ride logo - Arkham Asylum Coaster Ride Requuirements sign - Arkham Asylum Ride Train Chairs - Arkham Asylum Jokers Intensive Treatment Park Map Cover - Arkham Asylum Coaster Park Map Inside - Arkham Asylum TV Ad - Voiceover say "Arkham Asylum Coaster" while logo shows "Arkham Asylum Shock Therapy"
  25. It simply comes down to costs - Fulltime staff would still be paid for ANZAC Day if it Wednesday their normal day of work. Plus if they did open any casual or other staff that worked on that day would be paid double time and a half. It simply doesn't warrant them opening for a few hours.
