I must admit its a little like winning the lottery when it comes to cheap flights now. You cannot predict the market at all.

I know people get upset about attractions going. I was upset then the go-karts got taken away. Heck, when the speed boats went that was bad. But they did replace those attractions with better attractions. So we all have fond memories. But the park pulls its weight when it comes to making its own money. Yes, some things have been state and local government funded but it does bring tourism to the region and generates jobs within the Albion park / Kiama region. Youll find the park complies with environmental regulations so I wouldn't be terribly worried about the chlorine etc. The one thing this park do is they don't try to change the topography of the land and that's a massive plus. I suppose they can't help it because it is built on the side of two mountains and stuck in a gully.

This is great. Jamberoo really does pull off the theming aspect really well for a water park. This just sends it to the next level. Those that have ridden the perfect storm will understand. It will be sad to see the outdated original body slides leave but they actually do cause injuries in their old age. Surf hill. Oh, how I won't miss you. I am slightly heavy meaning I haul ass along this slide and by the time I get to the second "drop" I am flying through the air and usually crashing back into the lane feeling pretty winded even tho I am laughing uncontrollably. I will say tho with this slide being removed it also means a tunnel aspect to the lazy river will be lost. So I see them shutting down surf hill after this season if that's the case. An alpine coaster would suit Jamberoo perfectly. Those that haven't ever had the chance to visit just don't understand how steep this mountain is. The toboggans are great, but they are in need of some TLC and well after crashing many many times over the years one does not like to try his luck on these anymore. The alpine coaster would be a great addition and a real "feather in the cap" for Jamberoo. I really hope they keep the rock. This is one of those old school water park attractions that you just don't find anywhere else in Aus.

Visited the park today with my son. Took some pictures. The park was reasonably busy with waits for the Ferris wheel being around 15 minutes. Same went for the wild mouse. The ice skating is a big hit with the guest for the winter festivities. No other rides were bought into the park to boost the line up like they normally do. Hungry Horse (main food outlet) has also had some carousel horses added into it finally. The ice skating is free for pass holders & those who purchase an unlimited rides pass (for that day only).

All good @Jobe. Thanks for bringing it to peoples attention. I must admit I don't think about even in its defunct state. But it will be interesting to see what occurs.
-
indeed that statement is very true. But obviously, that and some rules changes haven't really helped SV. Sure SX360 has suffered from the rule changes but I can handle that as much as the park would be. Time will tell when this attraction along with the new coaster will open.

Um...you know unexpected operational issues occur correct. Sure it may have caused you to be annoyed or chuck a Bikash and be like "My night is ruined" but hey safety over accidents right. These things happen. -

Obviously, I don't know all the details of the new code. But it is kinda obvious that's where some of the issues have stemmed from. When you look at this case they started building. Got the job done then it seemed issues have arisen due to changes in the code. I am sure someone here would be much closer to the situation than myself. Sure the signing of the process can take a while (I have witnessed this first hand in this industry) but I think the changes in the code really hit DW at a bad time. Same goes here for AW.

Why shift the goal post for one company?. I'm sorry that's just crap. You have a road rule change and it's not like the state government does a rollout based on when people got their license. I am happy no company has received special treatment. Imagine what other companies would think or even the public then. Youll find the regulators are working with the parks. Things take time.

I get how people look at this and can be like "they don't work with the rides they don't know what they do". Essentially a ride is classified as heavy plant machinery. So with some engineering drawings, an engineer (like these specialist are) can easily assume and ascertain if the plant equipment is indeed doing what it is designed for. The issue is not enough "inspectors" exist currently. But over time this will be built up meaning a new ride coming on the scene in a few years time shouldn't have as many delays assay today. I agree that it hasn't been executed properly but like I already mentioned give it time and things will get better.

Rules are rules. Heck, I've raced cars semi-professionally. But still, I had to sit the same driving test as everyone else. It's good for the theme park/amusement park industry that these new standards exist. It helps build industry confidence again.

100%. Plus given the circumstances as to why all those changes occurred. I mean some people have a fear of rides in QLD. Back on track. This will be a nice little addition to aussie world.

It would be nice to have wait boards in the park. Helps you also sort out how to want to approach the day. The technology wouldn't be that hard to execute. That evil park VRTP owned in Sydney had a wait time system of sorts on screens. But I won't hold my breath. The last time they offered something with whizz-bang technology they ley us down with Scooby.

They could be looking to refresh things. If you have had a job for a long time you can run out of momentum. While it is sad someone lost their job it is also a case of progress.
-
you'll find over time it becomes much more strict. Personally, I see it as a good thing. Other states will role this stuff out within due time.

People will obviously want to blame DW but the changes have the regulations have changed during that rides construction. Same here for Aussie World. These changes have occurred at a time that is unfortunate for the parks. Due to the transition in the regulations. Rivals did not have to go through this new process. It was lucky. But SeaWorld's new ride line up will go through it. In fact, any new rides in the future in QLD will go through these processes, unfortunately.

Given some of the recent changes within the industry, I don't see this as a major issue. I mean look at SV. It's been delayed due to pretty much the same issues.

Does not surprise me. Qld people need to remember the market down here is different. We are still waiting for new attractions at LPS. It is interesting however about the free parking etc. Those things would be nice on the Gold pass also. The numbers will tell the story of how well such passes do indeed sell.
