  1. Don't tempt me... Or I'll start saying more crazy rumors... You know what I was about to say. A certain SBNO coaster that happens to be near Buzzsaw.
  2. Your scenario sounds eerily similar to what I remember of the infamous Scenic Railway derailment of the mid 1980s in which 20 people were seriously injured. The ride operators used Visual/Sound checks at the time, along with the original signal system, in order to keep track of where the trains were. Didn't notice one had come to a complete stop because of the brakesman stuffing up. Thus the infamous Melbourne urban legend "20 people DIED on this rollercoaster once"(combining this accident with a previous one where a woman died... Also in the 80s) began.
  3. You don't think with Buzzsaw's ghost theme they might also think about the Eu.... No surely not?
  4. Cool. Thanks. Did not know the fences were covered like that, that makes sense. There was an attraction over here before was there? This looks great. They've got plenty of room now which is good. It was the Building in the Timelapse videos right?
  5. At least this time it was an honest mistake... Lol!
  6. Yep can see that now. Just wondering what they were, it's the most interesting pic of the three new ones(the other two don't show much except building demo). They're clearly the old building supports, similar color as the one that's still standing there in the pic on the far right(it's a dark blue steel frame). Plus the description hints these pics are to do with the building demolition. Plus the other two pics are demolition pics too. Should have immediately connected this to the description, my bad, sorry! Anyone know what was in these buildings? Or how much space they took up?
  7. No, in fact as I edited my post I realize it's pretty obvious they are the old Building footings/footers(as the photo description also kind of hints). Still interesting to see how large the ride actually will be... Didn't realise they'd rip the buildings down. I guess Adventure World isn't exactly missing them, taking ride construction pics showing their ripping them apart. Pretty obvious the ride will extend into the area shown in the timelapse videos.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151619937784564&id=92438924563&set=a.10151586950779564.1073741829.92438924563&refid=17 May not be I guess, but that's what they certainly look like. Could have just been ripped out of the ground of the buildings and ready to take to the dump.... But might not be. The tubes look fairly new. Yeah probably the old building supports and footings come to think of it(looks like the same color as the building's poles on the right, now I see it).
  9. Yeah I already knew that. It's their less formal nickname(google "Concrete Footers", you'll see they are the same thing as "Concrete Footings"). Oh and the actual supports(steel tubes, set in concrete slabs) do arrive onsite. I'm thinking they're it. Why would you show rebar for anything else in anticipation of a ride? What else would they be for? Especially when we know the tracks are on their way over? In fact, no need to Google, here's a site that uses both words: http://www.ehow.com/how_7714099_pour-concrete-slab-footers.html
  10. http://www.themeparktourist.com/news/20130516/13401/australias-adventure-world-install-12-million-world-class-attraction-2013 Also it looks from the latest Facebook pictures as if Footers have arrived on site and been left in the parking lot? That's what it looks like to me. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151619937784564&id=92438924563&set=a.10151586950779564.1073741829.92438924563&refid=17 The Buildings seen in that timelapse update are gone? I presume they were it?
  11. Or perhaps they just realised Storm will be immensely popular, Dino Island is still relatively new, so why not just spread things out a bit? Give VIP pass holders something to look forward to a bit further on. Could just be they planned on opening it in 2014/2015 summer and for some reason they pushed it back from November to January. Or they just decided to advertise it as opening Summer 2015(it's debut season) and the late 2014 november-december opening date hasn't actually changed at all!
  12. Who knows? an extension of Dino Islands' stay is not exactly out of the ordinary. Has the attraction been popular? Seems so to me. But I also still think this could be a refurbished cinema attraction, turned into 4D(or higher!).
  13. Wasn't any need to use it in the end... Optus just changed the IP, as they do regular every few weeks(or is it days, or hours), which worked out fine. Also I never said I was gonna hide....
  14. Health and Safety regulations to be respected!
  15. Poor kid. Ride opearators should have measured his height, and the parents should have been supervising.
  16. I don't recall suggesting that for them... Did I? I was suggesting it for LPM wasn't I? A far more lunatic suggestion in hindsight, but I don't recall saying DreamWorld should get it....
  17. Lol at the title change.... Oh and it's not random, it's "Anti-labor paranoia by Anti-Labor bigot with a long memory". No doubt Jobe and AlexB will probably blow a fuse each when they see this thread...
  18. They didn't refuse permission, they bloody well campaigned against it(as another one of Kennetts' pet projects) as the opposition, in the 1999 November election that THEY WON as a Minority Government. And then after they won, they realized Melbourne needed it and halfassed attempted to save it. No wonder the investors pulled out after the government changed! They didn't like the idea of dealing with a minority government combined with the fact they were seeing entirely new faces that had previously called the development "another Kennett excess" the likes of Crown(which they conveniently forgot was actually Kirner), the toll roads, Melbourne Museum(and IMAX), Jeffs' Shed, the Grand Prix and Fed Square(all of which have only added to Melbournes' stature, not taken away from it). You seem to forget Gazza, that November 1999 was one of Victorias' most infamous elections of modern times.
  19. Yes but it was the same government who stuffed up the Paramount deal in the same location by giving the investors a bad message about how unimportant they thought it was getting a major themepark in the same location when they took government. Kennett would have delivered the film theme park had he won in '99.
  20. I can agree with that, but it's still what I think they need to be thinking of soon if things get anyworse. I'm just sayin', I live in the state where the government spent $2 billion bucks on a public transport ticket system.... http://www.walkingmelbourne.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5093(list is outdated, doesn't even include the desalination plant that no one needs!) You should also for good measure inform the Victorian Govenment of this idea of "better stuff to spend it on". I'm sure the QLD government has stuffed around with it's own projects also. Still a major stuffup that the government caused. Makes it worse it's on/near the location where Paramount Studios was proposed and would have happened had Kennett won in 1999.
  21. The Victorian Government is doing the same to public health from recollection, in fact for a long time they refused to pay school teachers rates that were comparible to other states. They sunk more than $50 million bucks a year running a damn glorified car race(which they have now "secured" for several more years), did something similar to the Showgrounds(which is likewise privately owned by the RASV) and on a lesser scale to LPM(in 2000), spent many millions upgrading the Tennis Centre just to ensure the Aussie Open is going nowhere else, built a major Soccer/Rugby Stadium, Spent $2 billion bucks on a Ticketing System that still doesn't work properly, spent $100 million on the Southern Star(which will FINALLY open proper later this year, at least we are told!).... Governments are not nessecerily the most financially responsible people. May as well get some public cash into Dreamworld, court either Ardent or another company(Dreamworks in my opinion) to fully redevelop the existing park, and turn it around.
