  1. LPM has seen similar improvements over recent years, with a new focus on the "Coney Island" type historical-heritage theme. Regular live circus performances have stayed there since the centenary celebrations.
  2. Yes but not in the movie title itself. That would be bad grammar. "Resident Evilution" and "Resident Evil: Evilution" both don't make sense. It would be in the tagline, and the title would be RE: Evolution(keeping with the theme of previous titles like Apocalypse, Afterlife, etc) And crap, thanks for telling me something I didn't know... It's filming on the Gold Coast? Also I agree with your statement it won't be directly connected to the sixth film. It will mostly probably just be "Raccoon City" as the arena.
  3. It's now most likely(I won't say 100% otherwise Jobe would probably explode! Lol!) Resident Evil, the Film franchise. The next film is scheduled in Cinemas next year(Exactly 1 year after this attraction is opening, September 14th 2014) currently rumoured to be called "Resident Evil: Evolution". The film tag line? My guess... "Get ready for the Evilution" http://www.movieweb.com/news/exclusive-paul-w-s-anderson-confirms-resident-evil-6-will-end-the-franchise
  4. They'll probably get most of the building done before going on to the lift hill and outdoor section.
  5. Sounds like the usual "quick buck to get quicker into the black" thing you see on most similar large scale construction projects these days. But it'll stay beyond that period too no doubt. Because of the negative reaction it'll have, I doubt it will come in for the GC parks, unless there's some really major work done(esp on or in the Carparks) and they need to "push to cover the costs". Perhaps if the WBMW retail development ever gets approved, etc.
  6. + Sea World = 7(inc Storm)... If you're a coaster nut, the "MW and SW" combo is a must. Do those first, and then Dreamworld. Best riding Jet Rescue first and skipping the Mick Doohan entirely(or riding it "if you must"). Even without Storm, the park still has two great coasters(which personally I like more than Cyclone).
  7. Have you been there before Gazza? Just asking out of interest.
  8. Cool... I agree with that too.
  9. I hope Sea Viper stays at the park for at least another 5-10 years before getting dismantled and sold like Thrillseeker and the Pirate Ship were. We demolish too much in this country... Is it possible though with that ride?
  10. I had an extra discount on top of the RACV one. Forgot to mention it. Concession fare(Newstart DES). Ended up paying about $45 for each ticket. $135 total, including Dreamworld. Last I checked, the VIP pass doesn't have a concession rate. Perhaps that's just something VRTP should consider. Perhaps do the same deal for $100 on concession(they'd save $50 on the full concession fare, and it would get much more VIP sales). VIP is a pretty good for full price patrons, but pretty useless for concession patrons only visiting once and that want to visit Dreamworld instead of Wet 'n Wild. Point is I wanted MW, SW and Dreamworld for 1-day each. Not Wet 'n Wild or White Water World. Not going to be back under a year, and didn't want to pay the extra $60 or so for access to two parks I wasn't going to go to. So clearly it was a money saver for me not to get the VIP. "Not going back for at least a year, Got Concession card, got RACV, MUST go to Dreamworld NOT Wet 'n Wild"... Concession buyers looking to visit all the Parks only save about $40 on the VIP pass, and about the same on the World pass. Compared to full fare savings(almost $150 in savings on the VIP pass alone), that's pretty shit. EDIT: Just refreshed my memory on the Pension/concession fare price.
  11. The post appeared to suggest LPS was to lose business to W'nW... Hence my response. There's no reason to "counter" the opening of Wet 'n Wild. LPS will not lose business to that entirely different type of park. Investment IS needed, but it's not for that specific reason. You may not agree with me.... BUT I AGREE WITH YOU!!! Yes additions are needed at both Luna Parks, but no, not because they "Need to directly compete with an entirely different park that's quite far away". Fact is the majority of regular Luna Park patrons live in the local area in Melbourne. And the local business just isn't going to be affected much by a bigger park opening up in an entirely different part of the city. Pretty sure it would be the same for Sydney. If another bigger Park opened in Melbourne, it wouldn't affect operations at LPM at all. Heck a direct rival kids amusement park, "Wonderland", opened up at Docklands, didn't affect LPM's business at all. Don't think a larger park would either. Except if it was Disney or a Legoland or some other HUGE brand.
  12. Tomb Raider should be a dark ride attraction similar to the Indiana Jones Disneyland ride(or perhaps even kinda like Scooby), not a White Water Rapids. Doesn't suit the theme when you really think about it. I'd make Uncharted: The Ride a Jungle Cruise themed river rapids. More suitable. Space Invaders would be a 4D motion simulator film(with the rider getting a Laser gun and shooting at targets) OR a Justice League-type shooting darkride to me. But it would only be loosely based on the game. You play as a space cadet crew that is called upon to defend the planet from an Alien parasite attack(sound familiar? JL all the way). Pretty much JL IS Space Invaders: The Ride! I would create "lands" such as: - Segaworld(Inc a Sonic Show) - Nintendoland inc a kids area themed to the Mushroom Kingdom and a Donkey Kong area(possibly called Donkey Kong Country) that would merge into - Retroland(with sections devoted to Atari and Namco.... A Pacman kids show/parade, a jungle log ride based on Pitfall) - Sony Kingdom(Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, the Rockstar games and Possibly a Spiro Kids Area) - Xbox X-treem Adventure(Halo, Etc... I'd put a Halo Stunt Show In here too)
  13. RACV discount helps me. I usually go to Movie World, Dreamworld and Sea World for less than what Gazza Quoted. Only buying single day passes at RACV discounted rates. I'm not going back during the year so I don't see the point of the VIP or World Pass, and I'd love to visit Wet'n Wild but I probably have to go to that on my own(my mate in Queensland that I usually go with prefers the Dry parks) Which I find weird and frightening. Now there's one in Sydney, I'll finally get round to it late next year hopefully. My point is I want that specific combo, and don't need the VIP. So RACV helps alot.
  14. Looks like the coaster dives into and rises out of a pit? Is that the "Spikes" section of this version of the ride?
  15. Andrew Charles and "Cruiseshipfan" would probably make really good friends.... Two people that are totally not seeing the bigger picture here. This WILL create more Aussie jobs!
  16. Problem is these days, there's never a good reason for no Coke to be available. You have two dang machines(at a traditional Diner-sized McDonald's). One in the Drive through, and one behind counter! I actually had to explain that concept once to Management at Maccas... They just couldn't grasp a simple concept: Two machines means you can leave one on while cleaning the other, NOT SWITCH BOTH OFF AT THE SAME TIME! That goes for Coffee too... You have 3 to 4 coffee machines at a normal diner-type McDonald's(Drive-in, Counter and if they're both down, McCafe has 1 or 2). The only acceptable reason is if ALL machines have their power knocked out, or the suppliers have fucked up delivery. "We're cleaning the machines" is not acceptable for a Diner McDonald's.
  17. They wouldn't close that section because of Buzzsaw being there. I think they should internally remove as much of the asbestos as possible, at the same time as giving River Rapids a spit and polish(having an excuse for that to be closed as well). Demolishing it would mean Buzzsaw would be closed as well as the River Rapids, So probably they'd have to hold that off for sometime. Perhaps if they ever decided to do a full "Gold Rush" refurbishment/redevelopment, it could be done. Could it be accessed from the rear(across the rapids)?
  18. There has been little multi-cultural change in Melbourne over the past 3 decades... All that has happened is we have grown our population and that has included multicultural growth. My guess is that you noticed it was happening in your suburb and ASSUMED it must have been happening everywhere else. Meanwhile the "McDonald's 24-hour invasion" has taken over your little town as well, and you won't do jack shit about it while your citizens get fat and die from diabetes. But hey, at least it's not an Asian restaurant. Gotta get our priorities right, no Asians here fullstop, but yeah we'll let the American fast food joints open up everywhere 24-hours a day and lets all get fat and die. Remember when "7-Eleven" actually meant something to do with time? And remember when it was ok to refer to a certain group of people as pointy ended wooden sticks with a name that started with F? Or when the Savoy Tavern was open for business? Shit changes from your Childhood... Grow up and deal with it, instead of seeking to rob the rest of the country of a great tourism idea.
  19. Any chance they could get the Spiderman and X-Men license for rides based on the film franchises?
  20. Can we merge these two threads now we know it's the same?
  21. Seems an appropriate time to just "Bump" this thread, now that we know it's still a Lasertag.
