I found this case study which gives a little inside into Adventure World's Abyss Marketing Campaign. So I thought I would share it. http://www.octopustree.com.au/#!work/adventure-world.html

From all the footage yesterday the gondalas have been installed. It doesn’t really take that long to clad a building and do finishing touches.

Dreamworld for sale - in Monopoly game
Tim Dasco replied to pushbutton's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Surely they wouldn’t have to pay. When they did perthopoly a few years ago Adventure World got on it without paying. -
An adventure river and expansion of WWW was announced with I-Ride and it seems construction is finally beginning.

Sea World lighthouse - Star Flyer replacement

Regarding footings, it depends how far down it is till they reach bedrock. If bedrock is a long way down it means the footings need to be longer which costs more. If bedrock is close to the surface then it’s cheaper. The was the reason why making Kraken at AW a hybrid was to cost prohibitive with bedrock being to over 20 metres deep. -
Universal Studios Australia?
Tim Dasco replied to BringADecentParkToSydney's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Lets also look at the budget for most of Universals Attractions lets forget about anything to do with HP. Jurassic Park is around the 100million mark, Transformers is 120million, Revenge of the Mummy is 20-30million plus all of there attractions are all large scale investments compared to our parks. So even a small Universal park will still cost over the 500million-1 billion USD to build at LEAST! Considering Australia's most expensive attraction to date is DC Rivals at 30million I do not see this all feasible at this point in time or for a while. Plus once the park is built they would still need to continue to invest. A park needs to keep building new attractions or something new year after year or people get bored and don't come back.- 17 replies

So here is a trip update from Adventure World: For a non major ride off-season lots of minor things have happened and due to a very wet winter a lot of painting and installation of shade sails have been delayed and are not quiet finished. Animal Kingdom is closed for renovations Surf Shack and Tiki Bar are closed for renovations Rampage has had all new seats installed to try and make the ride more comfortable. These I have found worse. Black Widow has had a complete new repaint. Which is not finished yet. The flooring and signage needs to be finished. This is due to weather I believe. Inferno gondala has been painted. A themed water fountain was added mid way up the hill to Kraken. New viewing area next to skull rock. More shade added the whole way up the hill. Not a fan of how it looks up the top but it was needed. More picnic benches have been added around the park. Animal area closed. New Viewing area Rocky Rapids was closed on opening day but has soon since re-opened. The view from the viewing area. Goliath Black Widow with its new paint and new restraint system. The new water fountain mid way up the hill. The new shading Surf Shack closed for renovation. Kahuna Falls was apparently closed for a few days. But is now re-opened. Not a huge fan of how it finishes at the top. The Tiki bar is getting a renovation. Looks to open soon. The Rampage with new seats. If you look Bounty's Revenge's sign is still visible from under the main entrance building.

How Long Can Dreamworld Keep Dreamworks?
Tim Dasco replied to Tin Foil Hat's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I don’t think we will see a Universal Studios here anytime soon. Considering there is one in Singapore that is not very far away or expensive to get to. -
Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster refurb
Tim Dasco replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
As someone who went on Mystic Manor a few weeks ago. I can confirm the ride is just an amazing example of a dark ride. The projection mapping and sets do work well. -
With the announcement and demolshment of the great escape last year seems a great new announcement of what’s to come. This looks 1000% better than the old park which did have a lot of aging 90s slides. Will be good to see how it turns out. Photos are in the link. Phone wouldn’t let me upload them here. @Gazza Lazy River, Wave Pool same thing. (End sarcasm) All jokes aside I did mean a Wave Pool.

I found this article from a while back that confirms a lazy river is coming this season. http://www.starweekly.com.au/news/funfields-to-be-home-to-victorias-first-outdoor-wave-pool/

I don't see whats wrong with doing DA's. All theme parks around Australia are required to submit a Development Application and these are then used to issue the Building Permit license. This is a standard procedure for any building and I can't fathom why they think they should get special treatment.

No limit went to perth last year instead. Space roller also did perth but hasn't for the last 2 years. Interesting to see the mega drop not going to RMS, will be interesting to see if that comes back to Perth.

So creative works over the last month have posted some images on Instagram. Seems like a lot of general presentation works are happening around the park. Considering they spent 9 million dollars last year. Makes sense for them to save there pennies. Worth noting I went passed Adventure World today. Nothing major happening. Although a few minor points: - looks like some new shade added to the top half of the hill and all the way through to the Kraken queue line. - Work happening on the rail rider and Kahuna falls.

You mean Dreamworld is advertising a closed attraction? Hey I see you Buzzsaw 👀 -
If you look at the plan, the facade, First Aid and so on are coming down due to Asbestos. Hopfully they get replaced with something nice.

Dreamworld Update 5 August 2018
Tim Dasco replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Any of these dozens of rides closed actually have any workers working on them during the day. Surely you would do everything possible to have minimal rides closed at all times. But is that just me?
